Chapter 10 Ji Hangyi Encounters a Ghost
After school in the afternoon, Su Xiwan had just finished her day’s classes and was packing up her school bag to leave the classroom when she received a call from Qiao Feiyan.
“Wanwan, are you free this weekend?”
As soon as the call was connected, Qiao Feiyan’s voice came from the phone.
“We don’t have a break this weekend, we have classes at school! Yanyan, is there something wrong?” Su Xiwan asked with a hint of confusion.
After all, they had just had dinner together last night, so Su Xiwan couldn’t figure out why Qiao Feiyan was calling her so urgently.
“Wanwan, it’s like this. A person who came to buy our talismans today said that he has encountered many strange things at night recently. He has also bought many protective talismans from our online store, but he said that each talisman can only last for one night, so he asked if we could help him take a look!”
Hearing Qiao Feiyan’s description, Su Xiwan frowned slightly. She thought about the recent evening self-study sessions, the teachers had let them participate voluntarily. After all, the college entrance examination was approaching, and the teachers wanted the students to adjust their sleep and rest time according to their own situation.
Thinking about this, Su Xiwan said to Qiao Feiyan, “It’s too late today. You should make an appointment with him for tomorrow afternoon after I get out of school.”
After hanging up Qiao Feiyan’s call, Su Xiwan carried her school bag and slowly walked out of the classroom. Her thoughts were deeply immersed in contemplation.
Since learning the Xuanmen arts from the space, besides helping Mrs. Zhou solve her crisis, she hadn’t really looked at anyone’s face or solved any Xuanmen related matters.
The reason for this was, firstly, she wasn’t sure what level her Xuanmen arts had reached, and she didn’t dare to act rashly. Secondly, she didn’t want the Su family to know that she knew the Xuanmen arts. She was afraid that if the Su family knew, they would stop her from learning the Xuanmen arts, or that if they knew she had this ability, they wouldn’t let her leave the Su family.
Therefore, she only drew talismans and made some pills, and let Qiao Feiyan help her sell them online or at the temple.
However, now that she had left the Su family, she didn’t have to worry about anything. Besides, her protective talismans could protect that person, so Su Xiwan thought the danger shouldn’t be too great. She felt she could try it, and at the same time, she wanted to use this opportunity to verify her inner thoughts.
A few days ago, when she saved Mrs. Zhou, at the moment Mrs. Zhou successfully escaped danger, she clearly felt that the spiritual energy in her body had increased slightly.
However, Su Xiwan wasn’t sure if this sudden increase in spiritual energy was really because she successfully rescued Mrs. Zhou, so she wanted to use this opportunity to verify it.
The next afternoon after school, Su Xiwan rushed to a cafe in the city center according to the agreed-upon time and place.
“Wanwan, over here!”
After hearing Qiao Feiyan’s voice, Su Xiwan looked in the direction of the voice and saw Qiao Feiyan and a boy sitting opposite her.
Carrying her school bag, Su Xiwan walked lightly towards the two of them.
“This… This is Master Su?”
The boy looked Su Xiwan up and down, his eyes filled with curiosity and a hint of undisguised disbelief. Although Qiao Feiyan had already told him that this Master Su was very young, he didn’t expect her to be this young. Moreover, she was carrying a school bag, clearly still a high school student.
In the face of the boy’s doubtful gaze, Qiao Feiyan nodded firmly and said, “Yes, the protective talismans you use were all drawn by Wanwan!”
“This… Is it really true?” The boy still didn’t believe it.
Su Xiwan sat down and heard the boy’s doubting words. Her expression remained calm and still, and she simply said lightly, “Your name is Ji Hangyi, you are 19 years old, a freshman at Peking University, your family is wealthy, your parents run a company, and you have an older brother and an older sister.”
Ji Hangyi was stunned when he heard Su Xiwan’s words. Then, he couldn’t help but nod, but there was still a glimmer of doubt in his eyes. After all, his family background wasn’t a secret, and information about him and his family could be easily found online.
Su Xiwan seemed to see Ji Hangyi’s doubts. The corners of her lips curled up slightly, revealing a confident smile as she said, “When you were ten years old, you broke the antique vase your grandfather bought. At that time, you were afraid of being criticized, so you let the family’s tabby cat take the blame!”
“Ah, this… This, how did you know? Did you install a camera in my house!”
Ji Hangyi looked at Su Xiwan in shock. He had never told anyone about the incident of breaking his grandfather’s vase. He didn’t tell anyone when he was young because he was afraid of being beaten, and when he grew up, he was too embarrassed to talk about it.
“Cut it out, I told you, my Wanwan is very powerful, you still don’t believe it. Now you should believe it, right?” Qiao Feiyan pouted and said dissatisfiedly.
“I believe, I believe it. This, Master Su… Oh no, Su classmate, can you tell me what’s going on with me lately?” Su Xiwan was so young and beautiful, Ji Hangyi couldn’t bring himself to call her “Master.”
Qiao Feiyan, seeing Ji Hangyi’s severe dark circles and haggard appearance, couldn’t help but feel a pang of pity. She also turned to Su Xiwan and asked, “Wanwan, did he encounter something unclean?”
Su Xiwan had seen what was going on with Ji Hangyi from the very beginning. She looked at him calmly, still asking lightly, “Did you buy some antiques recently?”
Hearing Su Xiwan’s words, Ji Hangyi instantly remembered that he had indeed picked out a few antiques when he went to the antique market with his friends last week. And the problems he’d been having seemed to have started after he bought those antiques.
Thinking about this, Ji Hangyi broke out in a cold sweat. His voice trembling, he said, “Is it that the antiques have something unclean on them? I… I’ll go back and throw them away right now. Will that solve the problem?”
Su Xiwan glanced at Ji Hangyi and chuckled lightly, “Do you think that if you throw those antiques away, the unclean things won’t come after you anymore? It’s not as simple as you think.”
Su Xiwan took a sip of the juice in front of her and continued, “You see, these ghosts can’t possess humans just like that. But some people’s birth dates and times make them very easy to be possessed by ghosts. And you, you’re one of them.”
“This… Su classmate, oh no, Master Su, do you think there’s a solution to this?”
After hearing Su Xiwan’s words, Ji Hangyi felt a little scared. After all, when he first bought the antiques, he only encountered some slightly unlucky things, and he didn’t pay much attention to it at the time.
But in the past few days, he could feel something staring at him every night. At night, he would even be awakened by a chilling and terrifying “ghostly laughter.”
He knew that he must have encountered something unclean, because the creepy feeling was so real. So, with a trial and error attitude, he decided to buy a protective talisman online.
After browsing through many stores, Ji Hangyi finally chose Su Xiwan and Qiao Feiyan’s online store. Because it was the only store with the best and most authentic reviews. The other online stores, he felt that the good reviews were all fake.
Although Ji Hangyi didn’t have high hopes for the protective talismans sold in Su Xiwan and Qiao Feiyan’s online store at first, the night he received the talisman, when he went to bed, he actually slept very soundly. In his dream, he vaguely heard something scream.
The first thing Ji Hangyi did after waking up the next morning was to check the talisman that was in the pocket of his pajamas. But he found that the talisman, which was still intact before he went to sleep, had turned into a pile of ashes after just one night.
Ji Hangyi then truly realized that the talisman seemed to be effective, and the scream he heard at night must have been real.
Ji Hangyi became more and more afraid. He immediately contacted the online store where he bought the talisman and reached out to Qiao Feiyan.
He was not only sure of the authenticity of the talismans in this store, but he was also full of hope that the store owner could help him solve this terrifying problem. So, he contacted Qiao Feiyan and made an appointment with them for today.
