Jean instructed Amuria and the other escorts to ensure the safety of the gathered representatives. Meanwhile, he approached King Harrison and engaged him in conversation to distract him.
“So, that means there are others moving in the same way as you. If it’s a revelation from heaven, then there must be a higher being. Who is that person?”
“You insolent fool! How dare you address me, the king, in such a manner! I answer to no one! I act on my own will under the guidance of a great power!”
“My apologies, your royal highness. Let’s change the topic then. Who exactly conveyed that revelation to you? Or perhaps I should ask, which organization?”
“Hmph, enough! I have nothing more to say to the likes of you. I’ll give a fool like you the death you deserve.”
“You’re quite confident, aren’t you? Even with so many guards, you don’t have the absolute numbers, do you? What guarantee do you have that you can overwhelm President Ranelle and us?”
Jean, wanting more information, continued speaking as though trying to stop King Harrison from initiating a massacre.
“You fool. Do you think these guards are ordinary soldiers? They are transcendent warriors who have pushed their bodies to the limit. Each one of them wields the power of a hundred men! Enjoy the full extent of their strength!”
With that, King Harrison gave the command. His subordinates began to charge toward Ranelle all at once. Their movements were far from ordinary. They swung their heads wildly as they rushed forward with incredible speed.
“These guys don’t seem like ordinary soldiers. Twin Oni! It’s your time to shine!”
At Amuria’s call, Darm, who effortlessly held two giant hammers in both hands, and Balm, who wielded a two-handed sword in his left hand and a club in his right, slowly stepped forward to stand before Ranelle.
“We’re just mechanics, you know… but this shouldn’t be much trouble.”
“Yeah, it’s just the right exercise before lunch.”
Muttering to themselves, the two met King Harrison’s charging soldiers head-on.
Darm knocked down a soldier who leaped at him with a swing of his right-hand hammer. He then sent another soldier flying with his left-hand hammer. While advancing, he casually swung his hammers, scattering five more soldiers with ease.
Balm kicked one soldier away to create some distance, then leaped high into the air, landing amidst the enemy group. Spinning his weapons, he quickly cut down nearly ten enemies in one go.
Seeing more than half of his soldiers fall in an instant, King Harrison’s expression rapidly changed.
“Impossible!!! These are soldiers with the strength of a hundred men! How can this be…?”
Yet, in reality, Harrison’s soldiers were utterly trampled by the two mechanics without putting up any meaningful resistance. Watching the last of his men fall, the once arrogant king slumped to the ground, defeated.
