Chapter 29 is called Mu Xiwan from now on.
After Su Xiwan got off the car, she noticed Mu Hongtao still supporting the roof of the car. This unintentional gesture, like a warm current, instantly flowed into Su Xiwan’s heart, making her feel a hint of warmth.
As she stood firmly on the ground, Jiang Xingman beside Mu Hongtao couldn’t wait to approach. Jiang Xingman’s eyes were full of tears as she looked at the girl in front of her who looked so much like herself. She said somewhat excitedly, “Child, I am your mother. It’s not good of me, I failed to take care of you, letting you be held by the wrong person since birth!”
As Jiang Xingman spoke, tears of self-blame and longing fell from her eyes like broken beads, the self-blame and deep longing intertwined, leaving her face covered with tear marks.
Su Xiwan stood still, feeling a bit lost. She had never experienced such a situation before, facing the somewhat excited Jiang Xingman, she didn’t know how to respond for a moment.
After a moment of hesitation, Su Xiwan took out a pack of tissues from her bag and approached to hand them to Jiang Xingman. Unexpectedly, Jiang Xingman suddenly hugged her tightly.
Eighteen years of longing erupted completely at that moment. Jiang Xingman cried heartbreakingly, tears falling continuously, drop by drop, on Su Xiwan’s shoulder. Su Xiwan stood there quietly, listening to Jiang Xingman’s cries, feeling a sense of heartache.
Over the years, in her search for herself, she must have endured a lot of hardships and fatigue! That’s why a person as elegant and noble as her would cry so uncontrollably, as if all those years of longing and worry were pouring out.
Su Xiwan felt surrounded by a strong maternal love at that moment. She felt that in this situation, she could no longer remain indifferent.
So Su Xiwan slowly raised her hands, also embracing Jiang Xingman and comforting her by patting her back, saying, “You are not at fault, you didn’t mean for this to happen!”
Mu Jingchen, who had already gotten off the car, and Mu Hongtao saw this scene, both involuntarily moistening their eyes.
Mu Jingchen, worried that Jiang Xingman’s emotions were too agitated and might harm her health, smiled and interjected, “Mom, let’s go inside, it’s too hot outside!”
It was the hot summer season, and the scorching sun was shining on everyone. Jiang Xingman reacted to Mu Jingchen’s words, reluctantly letting go of Su Xiwan, and looking at the slight sweat on Su Xiwan’s nose, she said somewhat embarrassedly, “Look at me, child, let’s go inside and talk first!”
Su Xiwan looked at Jiang Xingman, who was looking at her with affection and indulgence, as well as Mu Hongtao and Mu Jingchen, who had a slight smile on their lips but slightly moist eyes. She felt her tightly closed heart slowly opening up uncontrollably to the three people in front of her.
The four of them entered the house, with Jiang Xingman holding Su Xiwan’s hand tightly, unwilling to let go. Jiang Xingman and Su Xiwan sat together on the sofa, while Mu Hongtao and Mu Jingchen took seats on the single sofas on either side.
Jiang Xingman kept looking at her daughter, as if she wanted to make up for the lost time and motherly love of the past eighteen years. She looked at Su Xiwan, and with some caution, she asked, “Child, can you… can you call me mom?”
Jiang Xingman spoke with some caution, even a hint of humility in her tone. Su Xiwan couldn’t bear to see Jiang Xingman like this. This version of Jiang Xingman made her feel an indescribable heartache.
This was her biological mother, the one she had been searching for for eighteen years, the one who had mentally collapsed in her search for her.
Su Xiwan looked earnestly at Jiang Xingman, smiled slightly, and called out the two words she thought she couldn’t say, “Mom!”
Upon hearing Su Xiwan’s “Mom,” Jiang Xingman’s tears, which she had just struggled to control, flowed like a bursting flood once again. But this time, she cried while smiling. Her child had finally returned! Over the past eighteen years, the pain of losing her child, the agony of searching for her child, she didn’t know how she had endured it.
Seeing this, Mu Hongtao also looked expectantly and nervously, comforting Su Xiwan, “Yueyue, I am your dad!”
Su Xiwan turned to Mu Hongtao, also smiling, and called out, “Dad!”
Before Mu Jingchen could speak, Su Xiwan, still smiling, looked at him and called out, “Brother!”
With Su Xiwan’s calls, the eyes of Mu Hongtao and Mu Jingchen became moist again. Their family was finally reunited.
As Su Xiwan looked at the three somewhat emotional individuals in front of her, she felt a complex and indescribable mix of emotions. Before the paternity test, she had already guessed that she was the child of the Mu family. These past two days, she had imagined how her biological parents and brother would treat her, leaving a deep psychological shadow. In junior high school, when she found out she wasn’t their biological child, she thought it would be difficult for her to call them “mom, dad, and brother.”
After all, during those years in the Su family, after the Su family’s biological daughter came, she was no longer willing to call Su Maoyu and Fang Qinghui “Mom and Dad.”
However, when she saw the loving and indulgent gazes of Jiang Xingman and the others, the doors to her heart, tightly shut against family, opened toward them. Facing those who truly loved her, she didn’t want to disappoint them.
The four of them sat together, exchanging warm words. Whenever Mu Hongtao and the others asked about Su Xiwan’s life over the years, she would simply say, “I’m fine.”
Su Xiwan didn’t want to talk much about the Su family. It was all in the past, why bring it up and make everyone worry with her?
Besides, she always felt lucky. She was very lucky to have accidentally discovered the space and learned about Xuan knowledge, which allowed her to support herself during the most difficult times.
It also allowed her to leave the Su family smoothly, and now she had found her biological parents. She felt that fate had been fair to her.
After talking for a while, Mu Hongtao seemed to suddenly think of something. He hesitated for a moment and asked, “Yueyue, the household registration you were registered with at birth is still there. As for your name, do you have any thoughts?”
Su Xiwan hesitated after hearing Mu Hongtao’s words and said, “Can I just change my surname and be called Mu Xiwan? Also, I’m still using my ID number from the Su family. I used this identity when I took the college entrance exam, so…”
“What’s wrong with that? Just leave it to your dad to handle! Also, if you don’t want to change your name, we won’t. From now on, we’ll call you Wanwan, okay?” Jiang Xingman saw her daughter’s worry and quickly comforted her.
Su Xiwan, no, it should be Mu Xiwan. After hearing Jiang Xingman’s words, Mu Xiwan nodded obediently. This was the first time someone had considered her feelings and helped solve her problems.
Jiang Xingman seemed to understand Mu Xiwan’s feelings. She patted her back and said affectionately, “Wanwan, you are the little princess of our Mu family. From now on, Dad, Mom, and your brother are all your backbones. If you have anything, anything you need, just tell us!”
As Jiang Xingman said this, she was afraid that her daughter wouldn’t let go, so she couldn’t help but introduce the members of the Mu family to Mu Xiwan.
Mu Hongtao and Mu Jingchen were also listening to Jiang Xingman’s introduction to Mu Xiwan. When they heard Jiang Xingman mention the old Master Mu, Mu Hongtao realized that he hadn’t told the old Master Mu about finding Wanwan yet!
