Chapter 274: Help, He Actually Heard the Little Princess’s Inner Voice!
Lian’er was weak, trembling in fear, and her breathing was slightly unsteady. The Eldest Prince held her up, though a bit awkwardly, “Lian’er, I’m sorry. I just saw that you seemed unwell, so I…”
“Thank you, Your Highness, but I’m fine.”
[Lian’er sister is having a stress reaction.]
The Eldest Prince didn’t quite understand what a stress reaction was, but considering Lian’er’s past experiences, he could guess.
When someone dies, they often feel fear towards the place where they met their end.
Especially since Lian’er was brutally beaten to death here, perhaps right beneath that offering table.
The Eldest Prince didn’t know how to comfort Lian’er, so he was left anxiously worried.
Lian’er took a deep breath, and Ah Bao grabbed her hand. “Sister, Ah Bao is scared. Will you stay with Ah Bao?”
Oddly enough, when Lian’er held Ah Bao’s hand, all her fear seemed to vanish instantly, as if the earlier panic had been just an illusion.
Ah Bao led Lian’er into the room, and Lian’er wasn’t afraid anymore, feeling as though she had taken a calming pill.
“What Taoist Baiyun said is true; there’s indeed another space below.”
Taoist Baiyun looked at her, “Miss Lian’er, do you know how to open it? I apologize, Miss Lian’er, if it involves recalling anything from your past. I will find another way.”
Once Lian’er remembers how to open it, it’s equivalent to reliving her past.
The memories of death are extremely painful, and no one wishes to recall such things.
Lian’er looked down at Ah Bao, “It’s right under the floor tile where the little princess is standing.”
She had a feeling that the little princess was deliberately standing there.
Once the mechanism is activated, a strong wave of evil energy will be released, which only those with deep spiritual practice can withstand.
But even the Taoist Baiyun, with his cultivation, couldn’t suppress the evil energy beneath that mechanism.
Yet, the little princess was standing there just fine.
Lian’er sighed inwardly. What was she thinking? The little princess is just a one-and-a-half-year-old child.
This must be a coincidence.
Ah Bao’s eyes twinkled as she infused her tiny foot with spiritual energy and stomped on the floor tile, activating the mechanism and dispersing the evil energy gathered underneath.
Ah Bao stepped aside, bent down, and knocked on the floor tile, “Daddy, it’s hollow! Mommy taught me that a hollow tile must have a mechanism underneath.”
[ I kicked away the evil energy with one stomp. No need to be scared.]
The Tyrant felt touched.
Taoist Baiyun was even more amazed.
The evil energy around them was already strong enough to need talismans to suppress it, and the evil energy beneath the mechanism was even stronger, yet it couldn’t withstand one kick from the eldest daughter.
Impressive!
The mechanism opened, revealing a black hole with stairs leading down.
Taoist Baiyun took the lead.
Ah Bao held Lian’er’s hand, cheerfully following behind, as if they weren’t exploring something mysterious.
“Oh my! What’s that noise? Who’s crying? Why is it so dark in here that I can’t see my hand in front of my face?” Di Zian exclaimed as soon as he stepped inside.
Well, the boy was still young.
“Your Majesty, are you alright? Are you safe?” Lin Xuanzhi quickly asked.
General Lei: “Your Majesty, perhaps we should turn back. This place is extremely strange.”
“Stop talking nonsense! We’re already here; how could we just turn back now?”
“But Your Majesty, where are you? I can’t see you at all,” Lin Xuanzhi was genuinely worried about his Emperor.
“I’m right on your right side.”
“It’s getting brighter,” Ah Bao pointed to the walls, which were lined with numerous oil lamps.
Wherever Ah Bao pointed, a lamp lit up.
One lamp, two lamps, three lamps…
They continued to light up until dozens were aglow, finally dispelling the darkness with a gentle, warm light.
“What a delicate space,” the Tyrant marveled. “Even with the black energy flowing here, the items in this place look ancient. There’s even an offering table with gold, silver, fruits, and meats that appear brand new. What deity is this place dedicated to?”
Lin Xuanzhi: “Your Majesty, since our Tiansheng Dynasty has no national deity, there is no divine presence here. The altar only holds offerings, but no statue of any deity. I am also uncertain about which god this temple might be dedicated to. However… during my time in Lingnan, I heard that most people there worship a god who drives away plagues—Liang Yan.”
[Liang Yan? The god who drives away plagues, Liang Yan! It’s him!!!]
Ah Bao’s face suddenly showed shock, and she screamed internally.
The Grand Tyrant glanced sideways at the little girl. Why was Ah Bao’s inner voice so shocked?
[That boy in white, warm like sunshine—my Liang Yan.]
[A kind word from Liang Yan is enough to warm the coldest winter. He really is the warmest boy in the world. Liang Yan has become a god who drives away plagues. That’s so fitting for him. But where is my little Liang Yan? Where did he go?]
The Grand Tyrant felt uneasy.
His daughter said that the god who drives away plagues was hers???
The Eldest Prince,Di Zian, Feng Batian, and Taoist Baiyun were all dumbfounded.
The atmosphere in the underground space suddenly became mysteriously tense.
Lin Xuanzhi and General Lei had no idea what was going on. They only noticed that the faces of the princes and the emperor suddenly became a little odd.
But nothing had happened here, right?
“Taoist Baiyun, you’ve dropped your pouch.” Lin Xuanzhi picked up the yellow bag from the ground.
Taoist Baiyun took it and realized it was the protective charm Ah Bao had previously drawn for him. He had been saving it, only giving a few to others, so now he had just a few left. “Finding it must be fate. I’ll give you a protective charm, Minister Lin.”
Lin Xuanzhi was overjoyed. He knew that Taoist Baiyun’s protective charms were hard to come by, and now he felt as if he had struck gold.
“Thank you, Taoist Baiyun. I will keep it safe.”
“Taoist, hehe, could you give me one too?” General Lei, ever the simpleton, quickly came over, thinking that a free benefit shouldn’t be missed.
Taoist Baiyun smiled, “Alright, alright.”
“My luck really isn’t bad. This protective charm might even protect me from disasters or evil spirits in this temple.” General Lei said.
[This isn’t a temple; it’s a dojo.]
General Lei and Minister Lin were both shocked.
A female voice had suddenly appeared in their minds!
The only women here were Lady Lian’er and the little princess.
[There’s no trace of Liang Yan’s presence here. This isn’t Liang Yan’s dojo.]
[There’s no deity enshrined above the altar, and with the evil energy gathering around, it’s clear that this place has lost its spiritual power. The remnants of the spiritual energy are attracting the evil energy. Blow up the dojo, and the evil energy will scatter.]
[But, I’m hungry. Let’s eat before doing anything else.]
The little girl had already climbed onto the altar. [There may be no deity here, but the offerings are fresh. Preserved by spiritual energy, they don’t rot and decay. Eating them will prolong life and benefit one’s health.]
“Daddy, have an apple~” Ah Bao’s chubby little hand held the biggest, reddest apple.
General Lei: !!!
Help! He could hear the little princess’s inner voice!
