Chapter 50 Memory Tampered With
“You’re not just forgetting, you never went to the hospital! And Second Aunt isn’t a gynecologist, she couldn’t have performed an abortion on you.” Mu Xiwan looked at the female ghost, her gaze firm, her voice resolute. Her eyes were clear and profound, as if she could see through all the truth.
When she discovered that the female ghost was trapped in the doll, she noticed that not only was she locked in the doll, but her memory had also been tampered with! This was clearly a conspiracy, a conspiracy against Second Aunt.
Mu Xiwan was very puzzled about who was behind this conspiracy and what their malice and purpose were.
Ji Yuanxi, who was beside her, also chimed in, “I’m a neurosurgeon. If you had an ectopic pregnancy, you would have had to go to the gynecology department for surgery!” Her tone was urgent and sincere, trying to make the female ghost believe that what she said was true.
The female ghost now had a confused expression. Her eyes became vacant and she mumbled, “Then how did I die? Why is there always a voice in my head telling me that a doctor named Ji Yuanxi harmed me, and the room I woke up in was your dormitory?”
Ding Xinmei, the female ghost, had always thought that being in Ji Yuanxi’s house, although trapped in the doll’s body, was still a way for her to get revenge.
But now she was told that her enemy wasn’t Ji Yuanxi. Who was her enemy then? She felt incredibly confused and lost, her hatred seemingly lost its direction.
Mu Xiwan looked at the female ghost in front of her and sighed inwardly. This woman was pitiful. She didn’t want to help her recover her memory, but she had to.
Looking at the still confused female ghost, Mu Xiwan asked tentatively, “Do you want me to help you recover your original memory?”
“Is that possible?” The female ghost’s voice was filled with longing and uncertainty. Her blood-red eyes sparkled with hope.
After receiving Mu Xiwan’s affirmative answer, she nodded and said, “I want to recover my memory. I want to know who my real enemy is, and I want revenge!”
After receiving the female ghost’s answer, Mu Xiwan’s fingers moved quickly. A golden light shot towards the female ghost, breaking her confinement, not only restoring her memory but also allowing her to get out of the doll.
The now free female ghost didn’t rush to get out of the doll. Instead, she stood there blankly. Her body trembled slightly, as if enduring great pain.
Ji Yuanxi, seeing this, asked in confusion, “Xiwan, what’s wrong with her?”
Mu Xiwan looked at the female ghost and couldn’t help but say with pity, “She must be remembering what happened before she died!”
The female ghost’s facial expression became increasingly painful, and the black energy around her grew thicker. After receiving all her memories, she said to Mu Xiwan in pain, “Master, I remember now. It wasn’t anyone else, it was my boyfriend who caused my death!”
Her voice was filled with despair and heartbreak. Recalling that tragic scene, her tears flowed uncontrollably.
She had been diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, but before she could have the surgery, she had a minor argument with her boyfriend. She was accidentally pushed by her boyfriend and suffered a massive hemorrhage.
Her boyfriend didn’t take her to the hospital at that time, but slammed the door and left. As a result, she lost her life. Her soul was filled with unwillingness and resentment at that moment, unable to rest.
Mu Xiwan looked at the female ghost, who was in pain, and couldn’t bear to watch. But she still asked, “Do you remember what happened after you died? And do you know who sealed you in this doll? Do you remember?”
Mu Xiwan’s voice was gentle, trying to soothe the female ghost’s agitated emotions.
Ding Xinmei, the female ghost, thought carefully and continued, “After I died, I was unwilling, so I followed my boyfriend. I watched him put my body in the freezer in the house. I was unwilling, so I wanted to get revenge.
But the next day, he brought a Taoist priest in black clothes. The Taoist priest was very powerful. As soon as he saw me, he grabbed me. Then…then I don’t remember anything!” Her voice trembled, filled with fear and helplessness.
Mu Xiwan nodded knowingly after hearing Ding Xinmei’s words. She guessed that the Taoist priest grabbed Ding Xinmei and tampered with her memory. He then found a way to confine her to the doll in Second Aunt’s dormitory.
Mu Xiwan thought for a moment and then continued, “Do you remember what the Taoist priest looked like?” Mu Xiwan hoped to find some clues about the Taoist priest from the female ghost’s memories.
The female ghost thought carefully, then shook her head at Mu Xiwan, “I don’t remember. I only know he was wearing a black Taoist robe. I really can’t remember what he looked like.”
Sure enough, the Taoist priest used an illusion, and he was very meticulous in his actions.
She didn’t know why the Taoist priest had gone to such lengths to harm Second Aunt. After all, he was a cultivator. It would have been easy for him to deal with Second Aunt. Why go through so much trouble? She didn’t know what kind of conspiracy and secrets were hidden behind this.
Mu Xiwan was thinking when she heard the female ghost say, “Doctor Ji, I’m sorry. I sought revenge on the wrong person, and I almost caused you trouble. I’m truly sorry!”
Ding Xinmei, the female ghost, bowed deeply to Ji Yuanxi.
Ji Yuanxi didn’t know what to say. Although she had experienced a life-or-death situation because of this female ghost yesterday, she couldn’t hate her. After all, she hadn’t intentionally targeted her. It was others who misled her, making her think that she was her enemy.
Ji Yuanxi sighed inwardly and said to her, “It’s not your fault. You’re also a pitiful soul.”
Furthermore, Ji Yuanxi didn’t know why the Taoist priest had targeted her. If it hadn’t been for the Taoist priest, maybe this female ghost named Ding Xinmei wouldn’t have been trapped here.
Mu Xiwan looked at the female ghost and said, “What do you want to do? Do you want to seek revenge yourself and then come find me, and I’ll open the Ghost Gate for you? Or should I open the Ghost Gate for you now, and I’ll help you tell the police about your boyfriend hurting you and where he hid the body?”
Ding Xinmei, the female ghost, immediately said without hesitation, “I want to seek revenge myself! I want to ask him why he did this to me, why he didn’t take me to the hospital!”
Seeing the female ghost’s resentment so deep, Mu Xiwan sighed and said, “You can go seek revenge, but I advise you not to take his life. Otherwise, you’ll become a vengeful spirit and won’t be able to reincarnate!”
“So what if I can’t reincarnate? I just want his life. Why can he get away with hurting me?” The female ghost shouted hysterically.
“Don’t you have the police? I said I could help you report it to the police, I can help you find evidence of his crime. He hurt you, so he will definitely be sentenced to death. Why would you affect your reincarnation because of this kind of person?”
Ding Xinmei, the female ghost, was silent for a while after hearing Mu Xiwan’s words. She raised her head and looked at Mu Xiwan, “Master, will the police really sentence him to death?”
“Of course they will.” Mu Xiwan said confidently.
“Alright, I still want to scare him. I want to ask him why he didn’t take me to the hospital, why he did that to me!”
Thinking about this, Ding Xinmei’s eyes couldn’t help but reveal a deep hatred.
Seeing that the female ghost had made her decision, Mu Xiwan walked to Ji Yuanxi’s desk, took a piece of white paper, and tore it into a small human shape.
Mu Xiwan injected a wisp of spiritual energy into the little person, then said to the female ghost, “Go ahead and possess this little person. After you’re done, wait for me near the courtyard where I live. I’ll be able to sense you then.
But don’t get too close to the courtyard, and don’t enter, okay?”
After all, there were many people with merits living in the courtyard. The female ghost’s yin energy was too heavy, and it would be bad for her if she got close to the courtyard.
