You actually like her, don’t you? (2)
The head planner, upon hearing this gentle and slightly coquettish voice, was taken aback and turned around, thoroughly confused.
He saw Yue Qianling blinking her big eyes, looking at him pitifully.
Her voice drifted away, neither too light nor too heavy, reaching Gu Xun’s ears.
That voice was like gently plucking a chord in the depths of his mind, creating a familiar ripple that quietly captured his attention.
For a brief moment, Gu Xun even thought it was the same person speaking.
However, when he stopped and turned to look, he heard—
“I’m sorry to disturb your work, but…”
Yue Qianling caught sight of Gu Xun getting closer, so her voice became softer. She bit her lip and continued, “The date on this invoice is incorrect, so I’m afraid I have to trouble you to fix it, is that okay?”
Perhaps no man could resist such a beautiful woman’s coquetry.
The head planner in front of Yue Qianling did indeed soften his expression, “Oh, then can you show it to me?”
Yue Qianling discreetly glanced at Gu Xun again, and seeing that he was still looking in their direction, she doubled down on her act, putting on an even more delicate appearance. She blinked her eyes and said, “You’re so kind. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to report back if you hadn’t helped.”
Gu Xun: “…”
Hearing this, he finally furrowed his brow, let out a soft “tsk,” and then turned to walk in a different direction, to a slightly more distant area.
The head planner, seeing the young girl acting so cute and affectionate, softened his tough demeanor and said, ‘It’s not a big deal. Hand it over, and I’ll take care of it later.
Yue Qianling looked in the direction where Gu Xun had left and let out a shallow sigh of relief.
That was close. Her “little fairy” persona almost crumbled there.

With her task completed, Yue Qianling happily returned to the Mobile Game Division. Due to the upcoming event, everyone was quite busy, and she enjoyed the peace and quiet. She sat down and began sketching the outlines.
In fact, the task she had been entrusted with this time was quite heavy.
The original plan was to launch the Christmas event on the 22nd, and now she had less than three days to redesign two card arts. If they didn’t meet the requirements outlined in the design document, she would need to make adjustments.
The sky darkened, and the weak sunlight disappeared behind thick clouds.
Yue Qianling finished the rough sketches and looked up. Outside the window, night had fallen, and most of her colleagues in the office had yet to leave.
However, she had to return to her school dormitory. Otherwise, she would have to argue with the dormitory aunt for a while before being allowed to enter.
After packing up her things, Yue Qianling left the company quietly.
As she walked down the stairs, she had a sudden thought and turned around, lifting her gaze.
The lights on the top floor of the Ninth Business Unit were still brightly lit.
They must be even busier, she thought. She wondered when they would finally get some rest.
Just as she was thinking this, the elevator doors in the building’s lobby opened, and under the bright lights, Gu Xun strode towards her.
The two looked through the bustling crowds, their gazes colliding.
Yue Qianling suddenly held her breath, staring straight at him.
So, her decision had been the right one.
Staying here might indeed provide unexpected opportunities for encounters.
For instance, right now, Gu Xun was walking directly in her direction.
The closer he got, the more nervous Yue Qianling became.
In just a few seconds, she had already rehearsed several ways to greet him in her mind.
It seemed just like a moment’s effort, and Gu Xun was just a step away from her.
Perhaps she could ask him if he wanted to go back to school together.
Yue Qianling clenched her fist and adjusted her expression discreetly. She was about to speak, but she didn’t expect that Gu Xun would beat her to it.
“Aren’t you supposed to have resigned?” he asked, his gaze lowered as he looked at her.
Yue Qianling smiled and bit her lip, momentarily unsure of how to respond.
In that moment of hesitation, Gu Xun continued, “Why haven’t you left yet?”
Yue Qianling: “…”
Damn it.
Was he seriously asking that?
Yue Qianling forced a stiff smile, forming an awkward curve at the corners of her mouth. She still bit her lip and replied, “I didn’t actually leave. I was called back to continue working.”
Gu Xun raised an eyebrow.
Yue Qianling thought he was about to say something, but all she heard was a rather emotionless, “Oh,” before he walked straight past her and left.
“……”

Tonight seemed unusually cold.
Gu Xun went straight to a restaurant next to the company for dinner.
The restaurant was about to close for the night, with only a few people in the dining area, and the waitstaff lounging lazily at the bar.
Just as his meal arrived, his phone on the table started ringing.
Gu Xun glanced at the caller ID, picked it up, and picked up the chopsticks with the other hand.
“What’s up?”
“Can’t I call you unless there’s a problem?”
On the other end of the line, Luo Tuo had just disembarked, and there was a lot of noise in the background. “I just got off the plane, and I’ll be on a business trip to Jiangcheng in a few days. Can you come and pick me up?”
Gu Xun replied without much thought, “No time.”
“Are you guys that busy?”
Luo Tuo paused for a moment and added, “Wait a minute, you’re not that busy. I heard from Xiao Mai this morning that you played COD5 again a few days ago.”
Speaking of which, Luo Tuo remembered something and asked, “Why have you gone back to playing single-player games recently? Weren’t you saying that PUBG was quite interesting a while ago?”
“I’ve had my fill of those lousy mobile game graphics,” Gu Xun took a sip of cold water. “I’m eating. I’ll hang up first.”
“Wait a minute!” Luo Tuo stopped him from hanging up. “You’ve been acting strange lately.”
“What do you mean, strange?”
“Are you having a quarrel with Xiao Mahua?”
Gu Xun raised an eyebrow, devoid of any particular tone, “Why would I quarrel with her?”
“Ever since you found out she has a secret crush, you’ve clearly been upset.”
Luo Tuo, despite being seven or eight years older than Gu Xun, had grown up together with him since childhood. He was a perceptive individual who couldn’t miss changes in the emotions of those close to him.
He had long felt that something was wrong,
Gu Xun had grown up playing AAA games and had always looked down on the shoddy production of mobile games. The only reason he had downloaded a mobile game was that during that period, Luo Tuo had undergone minor surgery, and to pass the time, Gu Xun had decided to accompany him by playing a bit.
Several months had passed, and he was still playing. Luo Tuo had begun to wonder if Gu Xun had undergone a transformation.
However, these past few days, he was idle and had nothing better to do. He had thought it over and reflected on Gu Xun’s actions in the game during the past few days. Finally, it had all become clear to him.
With clarity and confidence, he said, “You actually like her, don’t you?”
There was a moment of silence on the call.
Gu Xun’s hand, holding a glass of water, paused for a moment. The ice-cold water reflected his flickering gaze, and the ambient noise in the restaurant seemed to recede into the distance.
Then, for the first time, his voice held some emotion.
“Would I like a girl I’ve never even met in person?”
“…”
Luo Tuo was left speechless.
It seemed… he had a point.
After hanging up the phone, Gu Xun took a few more bites of his meal. Suddenly, he heard a commotion outside.
He looked up and saw that under the neon lights, snowflakes were fluttering down whimsically.
Jiangcheng was a city where it rarely snowed, let alone such heavy snowfall as this.
Snowflakes fell gently, like scattered pearls and jade, awakening the romantic ambiance that had been hidden throughout the entire winter.
The city came alive, and it seemed like everyone was celebrating the arrival of the first snow.

As Yue Qianling stepped out of the subway, the snowfall became heavier.
She stood by the subway exit. Like many others who had just discovered this delightful surprise, her initial reaction was to take out her phone and update her WeChat.
She posted just three words, “It’s snowing!”
Before long, her phone started vibrating frequently.
She glanced at her phone and suddenly stopped in her tracks, surprised.
Her parents had messaged her, reminding her to keep warm, and her friends were asking about her plans for Christmas. All of these were not surprising.
What was surprising was that the person who hadn’t been in touch for several days had inexplicably sent her a message.
