Chapter 11 : Feeding her Medicine
The family doctor arrived, conducted a simple physical examination on Mu Qianqian, and prescribed some medication.
“Rest assured, Mr. Fu, Miss Mu is not in serious condition. A dose of fever-reducing medicine will be enough.”
“Hmm.” Fu Sichan repliedcalmly, “I’ll have Wang Yong inform the finance department about your bonus.”
The doctor quickly expressed his thanks, saying, “You’re too kind. For such a minor matter, you don’t need to give me an extra bonus.”
He had been working for the Fu family for many years, and his earnings were significantly higher than what he could make elsewhere. Not only was his regular salary high, but each time he was called for a consultation, he received an additional bonus.
Fu Sichan coldly eplied, “If you are loyal to the Fu family, naturally, your treatment will not be lacking.”
“Yes, yes.”
After the family doctor left, Fu Sichan initially intended to call the housekeeper to take care of Mu Qianqian.
However, she grabbed the hem of his clothes and said in a dazed voice, “Mr. don’t leave…”
“Take the medicine.” Fu Sichan poured her a glass of warm water.
Mu Qianqian tried to sit up, but she was too weak to stabilize herself.
Fu Sichan furrowed his brows and had to let her lean against him.
He roughly placed the pills into her mouth and held the glass up to her lips. “Drink the water.”
Mu Qianqian sipped the water slowly.
After drinking, she made abitter face and said, “…I can’t swallow it.”
“Open your mouth and let me see.” Fu Sichan commanded.
As he spoke, his breath brushed against her face, warm and slightly ticklish.
Mu Qianqian’s heart skipped a beat. She slowly opened her mouth, with the white pill resting on her tongue.
“So stupid.” Fu Sichan disliked her being such a troublesome person.
So delicate and clingy, and always causing issues.
Hearing the disdain in his voice, Mu Qianqian lowered her head in grievance and tried to swallow the pill.
Without the aid of water, she couldn’t manage it at all, and the bitterness only spread on her tongue, causing her small face to scrunch up in distaste.
“Drink water.”
Fu Sichan gave her a large gulp of water, pinching her chin and lifting it up.
Mu Qianqian, startled, swallowed the pill and water together with a gulp.
She touched her throat and murmured, “So this is how you take medicine.”
“No one ever taught you before?”
Mu Qianqian shook her head. “No, I’ve never taken medicine before.”
When she was sick in the past, she couldn’t even get a bowl of hot water and had to tough it out on that small bed.
No one had ever told her how to swallow pills.
Fu Sichan’s gaze flickered slightly, and he stopped calling her stupid.
“Open your mouth.”
He also fed the remaining pills in the same rude way.
Mu Qianqian’s chin was reddened from his grip, with two bright red fingerprints on her once-pale skin.
Her flushed lips were covered with a layer of water, glossy and tender.
Fu Sichan’s throat felt dry, and he instinctively took a sip from a glass of water.
After drinking, he realized that this was the glass Mu Qianqian had used earlier.
His face stiffened, and he placed the glass heavily on the bedside table.
“Mr. Fu, what’s wrong?”
Fu Sichan cleared his throat and tightened his jaw. “It’s nothing.”
Mu Qianqian asked softly, “Mr. is it because I made your car dirty before? Are you angry?”
If she hadn’t brought it up, Fu Sichan would have already forgotten about it.
For him, getting the car dirty and switching to another one was hardly an issue.
Fu Sichan asked, “Why do you think that?”
“Because, because you haven’t come to see me these days, so I was wondering if I did something wrong.”
After thinking it over, Mu Qianqian felt that she might have upset him by being so messy and dirtying his car, which made him angry.
Fu Sichan’s gaze was intense, not missing a single expression on her face. “I found out that someone was behind the car accident involving my grandmother.”
Mu Qianqian showed surprise. “Someone wanted to harm Grandma?”
“No,” Fu Sichan pressed his lips together, “that person intended to rescue her and make her grateful.”
Mu Qianqian was indignant. “Even if someone wanted to trick Grandma into being grateful, they shouldn’t use such dangerous methods. What if Grandma got hurt…”
She was quite righteous, puffing up her cheeks in anger, and almost wished she could find that person and fight them right away.
Despite being accustomed to dealing with all kinds of deceitful men and women, Fu Sichan couldn’t find any trace of guilt or anxiety on Mu Qianqian’s face.
Was she truly innocent, or was her acting so convincing that even he was deceived?
“Let’s call the police right away and have that person arrested. Someone with such ill intentions might do something even more terrifying next time.”
“Yes, I’ve already reported it to the police.”
“That’s good.” Mu Qianqian sighed in relief.
No one wanted to be targeted by such a person, and calling the police to have them caught was the best way.
Throughout the entire conversation, Mu Qianqian didn’t realize that this was Fu Sichan testing her.
Her simple mind couldn’t think that far.
After taking the medicine, Mu Qianqian felt even hotter and secretly extended her feet out from under the blanket.
As Fu Sichan was about to get up to leave, he noticed her small movement and felt speechless. He coldly instructed, “Put your feet back under the blanket.”
Didn’t she know she was on her period and sick?
She didn’t care about her own health at all.
“Oh.” Mu Qianqian obediently pulled her feet back under the blanket.
“If I see you sleeping on the sofa again, don’t blame me if I throw you out of the window.”
His voice was so cold it could have made ice shards, and there was no hint of a joke in it.
Mu Qianqian was so frightened her heart skipped a beat. She pulled the blanket up over herself, hiding completely, and said, “I won’t do it again.”
Fu Sihan’s lips curled into a satisfied smile. “That’s better.”
He originally planned to go back to the company to handle some matters, but as soon as Old Lady Fu learned from the doctor that Mu Qianqian was ill, she immediately called.
“What’s wrong with Qianqian? Is she okay? She just had eye surgery, nothing can go wrong.”
Fu Sichan rubbed his forehead. “Don’t worry, Grandma. She just has a cold and a fever. It’s nothing serious.”
Only then did Old Lady Fu feel relieved. “You’re at Mingyuan now?”
“I’m about to go back to the company.”
“Don’t go back. Handle everything at Mingyuan. Qianqian’s health has always been fragile, and I don’t trust her staying alone there overnight. Don’t forget, she’s your legal wife now, so you should care for her a bit more.”
Fu Sichan’s lips twitched. “I understand.”
Since the elder was insisting, he couldn’t refuse.
It seemed that tonight, he would have to stay at Mingyuan.
