Chapter 20: Supervising the taking of medicine
In Mu Qianqian’s imagination, wealthy families should all live in grand mansions, not in high-rise residential residential area.
“And Mr. you’re so busy every day, nothing like the wealthy families on TV.”
Fu Sichan, holding her hand as they walked on the sidewalk, smiled more deeply at her words, “Oh? How are they different?”
“On TV, rich people never work, they’re always fighting over inheritance, searching for illegitimate children, and dealing with mistresses. But none of that happens around you, Mr.”
Mu Qianqian recalled the melodramatic wealthy family dramas she’d watched, none of which matched Fu Sichan’s life.
Her Mr. went to work every day and wasn’t like those domineering CEOs in dramas who had nothing to do but revolve around the female lead.
Additionally, she had attended Fu Sichan’s family gatherings, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly, unlike the cutthroat family feuds over inheritance seen in dramas.
So, Mu Qianqian couldn’t believe her luck, marrying a stranger who turned out to be a famous wealthy person.
Such things were just fiction, not real life.
Fu Sichan smirked, “You should watch less TV. It’s bad for your eyes.”
Mu Qianqian playfully stuck out her tongue, “I know.”
Now she could barely see and mostly used the TV as background noise.
Fu Sichan had expected Mu Qianqian to be upset and cry over the slander she faced.
Unexpectedly, she was in a good mood today, even humming a tune as she walked.
Fu Sichan couldn’t help but ask, “Aren’t you upset that someone slandered you?”
“I’m not upset. What they said was false, and lies can never become the truth,” Mu Qianqian said firmly, with her head held high.
“But what about the people who misunderstood you?”
Mu Qianqian was nonchalant, “As long as the people I care about believe in me, that’s enough. As for those who don’t matter, they can think whatever they want.”
Fu Sichan’s gaze lingered on her for a couple of extra seconds, his smile subtly deepening.
It seemed this little blind girl wasn’t as naive as he thought, she was more open-minded than many others.
A couple of days later, the news broke that Sha Pu had been expelled from the university.
Most people were delighted by the news, saying things like, “It serves him right. He should have gotten his facts straight before making false accusations. Now, those of us who joined in the commotion have been reprimanded by the counselors.”
“What grudge could he possibly have against Mu Qianqian? To spread such vile rumors, he’s truly despicable.”
“Who would dare be friends with someone like that? I certainly wouldn’t. I’d be afraid he’d stab me in the back and spread rumors about me someday.”
Sha Pu hadn’t yet left the grade group, and seeing the flood of messages in the group made his face turn purple with anger. He blamed everything on Mu Qianqian.
It was all this woman’s fault.
He had just posted a few things, was that enough to get him expelled from school?
Who was supporting this woman behind the scenes? Why was she being protected so fiercely?
Sha Pu messaged Lu Yunxiang, “Sis, what’s Mu Qianqian’s background? Is someone backing her up?”
Lu Yunxiang replied, “How could that be? She’s just a poor country girl. What kind of background could she have?”
Sha Pu “But I’ve been expelled from school now. What should I do, sis? If my dad finds out, he’ll probably kill me.”
Lu Yunxiang replied urgently, “As long as you drive Mu Qianqian out of Bei City, don’t worry. I can handle your schooling issue.”
Sha Pu didn’t know her true identity and thought she was a biological daughter of the Lu family.
If someone from the Lu family spoke up for him, his dad would probably not be so harsh.
Sha Pu thought for a moment, his eyes gleaming with malice, “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to drive her out of Financial University. This woman got me expelled, if I don’t give her a taste of her own medicine, I’m not a man!”
Lu Yunxiang was quite pleased to read that message.
She had been having trouble sleeping recently, constantly dreaming of Mu Qianqian’s face.
They looked so alike, Mu Qianqian and her foster mother were almost identical.
Lu Yunxiang had been taken out of the orphanage and into the Lu family’s home because of her resemblance to her foster mother, leading to her current luxurious life.
She couldn’t bear to imagine what would happen if the real Lu family’s daughter came back. She might lose the favor of her adoptive parents, and her already-disliked brother might hate her even more. She could be kicked out of the Lu family and become a destitute orphan on the streets.
These thoughts were driving Lu Yunxiang nearly mad!
She didn’t want to live a poor life! She didn’t want to be an ordinary person, she wanted to be the only young lady of the Lu family!
So Mu Qianqian had to leave Bei City and disappear from the Lu family’s sight forever!
Mu Qianqian, unaware of being targeted, was trying to convince Fu Sichan not to buy her such expensive nutritional supplements.
“Mr. you have a family to support. It’s better not to waste money on me.”
Fu Sichan was reading a cutting-edge financial report when he looked up and said, “Whether it is a waste or not, I have the final say.”
Mu Qianqian sat at the dining table, looking like a timid schoolchild.
In front of her were the nutritional supplements air-freighted from overseas.
She thought they were just something Fu Sichan had someone buy casually from abroad, but what she didn’t know was that these supplements were specially customized according to her health report.
Mu Qianqian made a bitter face, “But it really tastes awful.”
She had just taken a small sip through a straw and was grimacing from the bitterness. If Fu Sichan hadn’t been sitting across from her, she might have nearly spat it out.
“It’s good for your health. Drinking this will help you recover quickly,” Fu Sichan said indifferently.
“Mr. can I switch to drinking goat milk instead?”
Though goat milk also had a slight gamey taste, it was much better than this nutritional supplement.
Fu Sichan put down his magazine and looked at her with interest, then coldly said, “No, you can’t.”
Seeing Mu Qianqian’s dejected expression, Fu Sichan’s eyes revealed a hint of amusement. He deliberately maintained a stern face, “Who told you to eat so little usually?”
She had been lacking in nutrition for over a decade, and her appetite was still so small. When would she ever catch up?
Mu Qianqian hurriedly promised, “I’ll eat more meat and more rice from now on.”
“This is recommended by the doctor. Just drink it for now, it’s also good for your eyes.”
Mu Qianqian sulkily replied, “Okay.”
She decided to skip the straw, pinched her nose, and gulped down the entire cup of nutritional liquid in one go.
After drinking, she rushed to the kitchen and took a large glass of orange juice and gulped it down.
