The sun was setting, and the sea was getting darker.
Jiang Ning asked in a hoarse voice, “What are your plans for the future?”
After drifting underwater for so long, Liu Cheng and the others wanted to take advantage of the good weather to rest on the surface for a few days, get some sunlight, supplement their calcium, and adjust their bodies.
Meeting 2688 had reignited hope for 1926. They believed that as long as they continued to explore, they would find more companions and comrades.
The southern military base was gone, but the Fire Seed Plan would not stop, and they would find a place to live one day.
Jiang Ning and Huo Yishen looked at each other. Since they decided to rest, they would continue to observe. It would not be too late to talk about the coordinates in two days.
It wasn’t that they doubted Liu Cheng and the others; they just felt that they might be too kind-hearted.
If the coordinates fell into their hands, what if one day the extinction of humanity required all nations and ethnicities to unite to survive the natural disasters?
It is certainly right to think so, but the land has sunk, just like the Eagle Sauce and Maple Leaf they met, with arrogance and predatory blood in their bones. They want to knock others down when they meet. Trying to persuade them individually was simply wishful thinking.
If the coordinates are leaked, countless demons will be attracted.
Dealing with natural disasters was already difficult enough. If human-made disasters were added, could a new homeland truly be established?
So, Jiang Ning hesitated.
Of course, it might be that she was overly sensitive.
It was dark, and the risks on the sea surface were increasing. The two submarines sank slowly and floated quietly in the deep sea.
Seeing the sunlight and interacting with fellow countrymen improved their mood, and they ate half a bowl more for dinner.
Maybe even Jiang Ning herself didn’t realize that she was humming a song while taking a bath.
Huo Yishen listened outside, and the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but rise.
In the morning, the submarine didn’t rush to surface but waited until Lan Lan’s scratching was over before starting up, so as to avoid this guy causing damage and potentially dragging their submarine into the deep sea.
Liu Cheng and the others were unaware of the situation. When they saw the mutant blue whale trying to attack 2688, they immediately flashed their flashlights to warn them that there was danger.
Huo Yishen flashed his flashlight and replied to them, “We’re already used to it.”
Lan Lan’s temper was relatively mild. It could scratch as much as it wanted as long as there was no danger and no attack.
If a fight did break out, it would likely end in mutual damage.
Seeing that the blue whale was just scratching barnacles and not actually trying to attack 2688, Liu Cheng and the others relaxed.
After Lan Lan left, 2688 began to surface. 1926 came up earlier, and a dozen or so people either sunbathed or exercised.
Liu Cheng asked with a loudspeaker, “What are your plans for the future?”
Jiang Ning’s throat was uncomfortable after shouting too much yesterday. So she also took out her loudspeaker, “No plans for the time being. We’ll just float to wherever we want.”
Liu Cheng wanted to invite 2688 to join them. Having companions meant not being alone and could also provide mutual protection.
Just as he was about to speak, a team member on patrol spotted something and reported, “Captain, there’s a fishing boat.”
A fishing boat? How could that be?
Doudou also noticed and quickly informed her brother and sister-in-law.
Jiang Ning used her binoculars to observe and found that it was indeed a fishing boat, and a civilian one at that. It wasn’t particularly large, but surprisingly, it had motor power and was heading in their direction.
It seemed that there were fishermen on the boat, waving towards them, and their faces were also oriental.
They were pale and thin, with tanned and cracked skin.
After experiencing plate collisions, tsunamis, and countless storms, the fishing boat was still intact, and even more outrageous was that it still had a running motor.
The two submarines were subconsciously alert, and Liu Cheng reminded them, “Be careful of a trap.”
If it were just their submarine, Jiang Ning would have directly sunk down and stored them in her space, but now 1926 was right next to them, so there was no way she could cheat unless it was a life-and-death moment.
Huo Yishen asked Doudou to return to the submarine, while he and Jiang Ning quietly hid their weapons on their bodies.
Doudou was worried, “Brother, sister-in-law, be careful.”
Huo Yishen instructed, “Go down and protect Coke, and don’t come up without my signal.”
1926 also had weapons and a new type of bulletproof vest.
Liu Cheng was a professional sailor, and he stared at the fishing boat intently, judging the opponent’s speed and draft.
As the fishing boat approached, three people came out of the cabin. They were wearing bamboo hats and sun-protective headscarves.
The waving fishermen shouted over here, “Sawadee Ka.”
Jiang Ning almost choked.
Seeing their confused expressions, the fishermen’s faces showed disappointment, but they continued shouting, “Sawadee Ka, Sawadee Ka.”
Seeing Jiang Ning’s lack of response, Liu Cheng awkwardly replied, “Sawadee Ka.”
The man seemed to think he understood and appeared pleased, mumbling excitedly.
Liu Cheng furrowed his brow and shook his head, looking helpless. “Sorry, I don’t understand.”
After he repeated several times that he didn’t understand, the other party started to Sawadee ka again, began to gesture, and continued to mutter.
They were all Orientals, and their body language was quite expressive, Jiang Ning had an idea.
There was someone on the boat who was ill and urgently needed a doctor.
Liu Cheng and the others were not doctors, but the Fire Seed Planner were well-trained and knew how to handle common illnesses and injuries.
He gestured to ask how many people were sick on the ship.
The other party held up three fingers.
Liu Cheng counted the number of people and asked him if there were a total of seven people on the ship.
The other party nodded repeatedly.
Liu Cheng asked again, what disease did they have?
It was difficult; the fisherman gestured for a long time without making it clear.
Liu Cheng thought for a while and then signaled to Jiang Ning, “I’ll go up with some people to take a look.”
The wind was a bit strong, and he raised his hand to rub his eyes.
Jiang Ning did not stop him, “Be careful.”
Liu Cheng, being cautious, didn’t take all his comrades but left five to guard the submarine.
He asked the fishing boat to turn sideways, with the boarding port facing the submarine.
The fishing boat cooperated obediently and turned the boat sideways.
Taking out the rubber boat from the submarine, Liu Cheng took the medicine box and paddled with his comrades to the fishing boat.
Everyone’s eyes were either on the rubber boat or on the people on the fishing boat.
The wind was blowing on the sea, and the rubber boat took a lot of effort to get close to the fishing boat.
The people on the boat lowered the rope ladder and pulled a few people up…
Just as everyone was watching the last member board the fishing boat, something quietly emerged from the water beside the submarine.
Jiang Ning kept her gaze on the fishing boat while Huo Yishen reached around her waist with one hand, pulling out a gun with the other, and fired at the surface of the water.
With a silencer installed and the wind on the sea, no sound was heard at all.
Holding the weapon, he shot the monster attempting to ambush them in the head and it fell into the water without moving.
Huo Yishen fired several shots, and as the blood continued to spread in the water, corpses floated up one after another.
Jiang Ning also shot at the same time but shot towards the sea surface of 1926 and killed two in a row.
The remaining five people of 1926 were not vegetarians either. They picked up their hidden harpoons and stabbed them into the water.
Ups and downs, accompanied by screams…

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
