As soon as Liu Ziqi heard Yun Tutu agree to the deal, she quickly turned to Li Momo and said, “Quick, bring some tea for Miss Yun.”
She had noticed Yun Tutu licking her lips earlier and suddenly realized that ever since Yun Tutu had arrived, no one had offered her any tea. The maids had become increasingly undisciplined, too focused on the spectacle to remember basic hospitality.
Yun Tutu quickly interjected, “No need to trouble yourselves, I have my own water.”
She reached into the basket at the front of her motorcycle and pulled out a half-finished bottle of water. While Yun Tutu wasn’t overly cautious, she wasn’t about to drink tea offered by strangers in an unfamiliar place.
Liu Ziqi stared curiously at the bottle of mineral water in Yun Tutu’s hand. This girl had so many strange items—Liu Ziqi wanted them all.
Noticing Liu Ziqi’s intrigued gaze, Yun Tutu quickly took a few sips and then capped the bottle. “Are you sure you want to proceed with the transaction? If so, let’s go over the items. By the way, I also have some lipsticks. Would you like those too?”
Each item was priced at ten gold taels, and Yun Tutu had some lipsticks in the box as well. She decided to include everything she could in the sale.
“The lipstick you just applied on me? Of course, I want it,” Liu Ziqi responded immediately. “Show me everything you’ve got. If it suits me, I’ll take it all.”
After speaking, she took a quick sniff of the air, nearly making Li Momo faint from shock. “My lady, you’re a noble! That’s not how a young lady should behave!”
“Why do you smell so good? Are you wearing some special fragrance?” Liu Ziqi asked.
Yun Tutu blinked, inwardly celebrating. This marquis’s daughter was a dream customer, willing to buy everything she hadn’t even thought to sell.
“Miss Liu, let’s sit down and discuss everything in detail,” Yun Tutu said, preparing to give her the ultimate sales pitch.
Honest money should be earned honestly, so Yun Tutu planned to share some beauty tips with Liu Ziqi. That way, she could feel good about taking the payment.
Once everything was agreed upon, Yun Tutu tallied up the items. There were quite a few—the skincare and makeup products, as well as the perfumes, totaled twenty items.
Originally, Yun Tutu hadn’t intended to sell so much, but the shrewd little merchant in her decided to include even the products she had bought for herself.
“This small mirror is a gift from me,” Yun Tutu said, reluctantly pulling out the compact mirror from her pocket. It wasn’t a big deal since the compact foundation also had a mirror, but Liu Ziqi seemed genuinely touched by the gesture.
Liu Ziqi was deeply moved by Yun Tutu’s generosity. Such a precious item, given so freely! She instructed a servant to bring over two hundred taels of gold to Yun Tutu. The gold was heavy, despite its small size, and Yun Tutu quickly stashed it in her box. The screen in front of her confirmed the transaction was complete.
This meant one thing: the countdown to Yun Tutu’s return had begun.
Just then, Liu Ziqi took a box from Shi Lan’s hands and handed it to Yun Tutu. “Miss Yun, I’m very grateful for the mirror you gave me. I can’t take it for free, so please accept this as a token of my thanks.”
As she spoke, Liu Ziqi glanced at Yun Tutu’s wavy brown hair. The color was strange, and the style even stranger. Surely, this girl was lacking in some fashion essentials. Hopefully, next time they met, Miss Yun would dress less plainly.
Yun Tutu was curious but decided not to open the gift box in front of everyone. “Thank you, Miss Liu.”
She wasn’t one to refuse free gifts, especially in a place as wealthy as this marquis’s residence. After all, she had spent enough time here and deserved some compensation.
Seeing that the countdown was nearly over, Yun Tutu quickly mounted her motorcycle. Liu Ziqi and her servants only saw a blinding flash of light, and both the motorcycle and Yun Tutu disappeared.
“Miss?” the servants gasped in astonishment. Even Li Momo clutched her chest in shock. She had brought Yun Tutu into the estate herself and had no idea the girl possessed such mysterious powers.
Could this young woman be some sort of spirit?
Liu Ziqi remained calm. “Everyone, keep your mouths shut about this. If I hear any rumors, you won’t be serving me anymore.”
Li Momo shot the maids a stern look before they all responded in unison, “Yes, Miss.”
“Don’t worry too much,” Liu Ziqi reassured them. “This is an opportunity for me. Look, the things she brought have solved my most urgent problems. Besides, all she asked for was gold. She didn’t want anything else, and she hasn’t harmed anyone. That’s all that matters.”
Unable to resist, Liu Ziqi pulled out the mirror again to admire her reflection. “Hmph! Wang Pingtian thought she’d see me make a fool of myself, but now she won’t get the chance.”
…
Back in her own world, Yun Tutu carried the gold home and immediately felt that her rented apartment wasn’t good enough anymore.
This 200 gold taels could be exchanged for over five million yuan. Was it really safe to just leave this much wealth in her little rented apartment?
“Song Song, I’m rich!” Yun Tutu exclaimed, hugging the gold ingots, her face flushed with excitement.
She had never seen so much gold in her life, and she doubted most people had. She couldn’t help but pick up a gold ingot, following the cliché from TV dramas, and took a bite.
Ouch, that hurt her teeth. TV shows really do mislead people.
But then she looked at the tooth marks on the gold and realized it was real.
“You’re acting so silly,” Song Song remarked. “Earlier, you were worried about bringing back viruses, but now you’re handling gold that’s probably been touched by countless people, and you don’t mind?”
Watching Yun Tutu’s antics was almost unbearable. She was intelligent, so why was she doing something so foolish?
Yun Tutu immediately became concerned about a new problem. “What am I supposed to do with all this gold? If I try to cash it out, won’t that attract attention?”
Leaving it at home made her uneasy, but taking it out was equally risky.
“I can help you convert it into cash, with a legal source,” Song Song offered.
“Why didn’t you mention this before? I had to sell that gold nugget!” Yun Tutu complained as she lay on her bed, hugging the gold. No matter what, she was determined to sleep with these ingots tonight.
That’s just how she was—she loved money, plain and simple.
“I wanted you to experience the satisfaction of earning something tangible. Besides, converting it into cash through me requires a fee—10% of the transaction.”
“Ten percent? That’s daylight robbery!” Yun Tutu protested, slipping two gold ingots under her pillow. She had to sleep with these tonight. “Didn’t you say the profits were mine?”
“Business is business. Converting gold to cash consumes energy, but it’s much safer than you doing it on your own.”
Song Song added, “But of course, the choice is yours.”
Yun Tutu hugged her gold lumps, lying on her bed. “I’ll sleep on it and decide tomorrow.”
Song Song sighed inwardly. What was so comforting about cold, hard gold?
“Liu Ziqi really is generous,” Yun Tutu mused, staring at the ceiling. “Song Song, do you think I’ll get to do business with her again?”
“If she has a strong enough desire, it’s possible.”
“Oh, wow…”
