Grandmother Yu’s Changes
At this moment, Aunt Yu spoke up, “When you come back, bring the butler and the others along. Make sure to collect anything prohibited from the villa. I doubt we’ll be returning there anytime soon.” That place could be left for her mother to deal with on her own!
“But… over there…” Mo Mo was taken aback.
“Just buy two new nanny robots,” Aunt Yu replied. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to care for her mother, but based on what her mother had just said, it was clear her love for Momo had changed.
The main issue was that Momo no longer held her brother in high regard.
In the past, Aunt Yu might have felt uncomfortable about this because, from a young age, her mother had taught her to prioritize her brother above all else. But now, she had her own thoughts.
Yu Feng Qi had treated Momo so poorly, so why should Momo still regard him as before?
He was nothing but a rotten father, a beastly one at that, who had even thought of selling his own grandchild. He was worse than an animal, and now their mother was denying Momo’s worth because of what happened earlier.
At this moment, Aunt Yu even wondered if her mother had orchestrated the entire kidnapping just to harm Momo.
Aunt Yu felt deeply troubled and didn’t know how to bring up the matter of Grandma Yu to Momo. The whole situation made her feel uneasy.
Just then, Momo approached, seeing her aunt’s anxiety. She put her arm around her aunt’s shoulder and said, “Auntie, I heard what Grandma said earlier. Don’t take it to heart. When it comes to family, I just go with the flow. If there’s affection, I’ll reciprocate. If not, I’ll keep my distance.”
Aunt Yu’s eyes reddened. “But… the whole family is scheming against you?”
“Auntie, I only consider you my family now. I don’t need anyone else,” Momo said earnestly, looking directly at her aunt.
Aunt Yu choked up. “But…,” she began. Her mother had been so kind before, and now she had changed so drastically. Could Momo really handle it?
“Grandma’s love for me has always hinged on my love for Dad,” Momo said, exhaling deeply. “Auntie, I just hope you understand. I’ve given too much and received nothing in return. I almost paid with my life.”
“I know, I know! My poor Momo has been so wronged!” Aunt Yu pulled Momo into a tight embrace. “If they don’t love you, we won’t love them either. Let’s stay away from them. I think this place is perfect. We can stay here and raise the child until they’re grown.”
Aunt Yu had even decided in her heart that she didn’t plan on remarrying. As for having a child, she intended to wait until Momo’s child was grown, then she would go to a gene bank to choose a match and have her own child. She wanted to raise her child properly, avoiding the path Grandma Yu had taken, where she lost herself because of her son.
Meanwhile, Mo Mo had already gone to the man’s house, bringing along some help. Since the aircraft was in stealth mode, the people inside the house had no idea they were being watched.
In the living room, two men were talking. One asked, “Do you think this plan will work?”
“It was the old woman’s idea, so it should. Why else would she go to such lengths?”
“I just measured, and this old woman has a high fertility rate.”
“What do you mean?”
“She could have more children! Her fertility rate is at 27, and her genetic health is 55%. That’s higher than ours. I think it would be easy for her to have a child.”
“Then I’ll go talk to her!” Who wouldn’t want their own child? Although the old woman was much older, she could still bear children, and he was willing to take on the responsibility.
Besides, there was the added bonus of a fertile granddaughter, which would mean a steady flow of wealth for him in the future.
He walked straight to the room where Grandma Yu was being kept. When he opened the door, she was sitting on a chair, visibly conflicted, still questioning whether she had made the right decision.
“What are you doing here?” Grandma Yu looked at the man and quickly turned her face away.
“I came to see you. Do you want to see your son?”
“Isn’t he still unconscious?” Grandma Yu had suspected something was wrong a long time ago. Even if she had differences with her son, they would usually find another way to communicate. But she had only heard about his condition through others, and he had never contacted her directly.
Grandma Yu guessed that Yu Feng Qi had never woken up. When this man confirmed it that it is indeed true, she had a breakdown; her son had always been her hope.
Although she had also placed her hopes on Momo, Momo seemed different now. Where once Momo’s world revolved around her father, she now seemed indifferent to Yu Feng Qi’s fate.
The change was too drastic, leading Grandma Yu to develop resentment towards Momo.
She had come here to plot against Momo but hadn’t expected her daughter to flatly refuse.
Grandma Yu hadn’t anticipated that her usually obedient daughter would change so much. Her daughter should have been closer to her and Yu Feng Qi, but now she had changed.
Grandma Yu never considered that her parenting methods might have been flawed. Even though she didn’t have an overtly close relationship with her son, he still held the most important place in her heart.
After all, when Momo had given her money, her first instinct was to contact her son to give him some of it, though she had been unable to reach him.
Thinking back, Grandma Yu had known that the money from selling the house wasn’t something Mo Mo would want, which was why she insisted on giving it to her. She hadn’t expected Momo to surprise her by moving them to a wealthy area with plenty of money and leisure. She had quickly lost herself in it all.
If she were asked to return to her previous days, Grandma Yu would certainly refuse.
Moreover, the fact that the villa was in Momo’s name made her uncomfortable. She believed the house should be in her son’s name.
Momo probably couldn’t imagine how thoroughly Grandma Yu had changed. If she knew, she might even be glad that she hadn’t invested too much emotion in the relationship.
“He hasn’t woken up, so what’s the point in seeing him?” Grandma Yu said irritably.
“So, did you manage to get in touch with your daughter?”
“I did,” Grandma Yu replied but didn’t mention the outcome.
“So, when is she bringing your granddaughter over?”
“They’re not coming!”
“Huh? Didn’t you say your daughter was very obedient?”
“That was before!” Grandma Yu was furious. She was truly angry with Yu Minjia. Why wouldn’t she listen to a word she said?
“Do you really dislike your granddaughter that much?” Suddenly, a voice broke in, asking the question.
“She’s not who she used to be. The old her was kind and gentle, always concerned about Feng Qi, always afraid something might happen to him. But now, she’s changed!” Grandma Yu couldn’t understand this at all.
