Interstellar Crisis 4
“Momo, where did you get this book? It’s incredibly valuable for research!” Mo Mo was genuinely thrilled because many of the insect species described in the book were ones he had encountered in battle, particularly the giant crabs. These crab-like creatures were enormous, with the largest ones reaching up to three meters in length. Their shells were so tough that they could easily damage their mechas.
After a massive battle with the Zerg on the planet Nako, over tens of thousands of these crab shells were left behind, now piled up like garbage. Seeing that the meat inside these creatures was actually edible made Mo Mo feel a pang of regret. What a waste!
Even though Mo Mo had regained his memories, his mind was still focused on the intergalactic matters at hand.
Seeing how everyone was questioning whether these insects were safe to eat, Momo quickly told Mo Mo, “Send me a few of those locusts!”
Mo Mo sent her five locusts, each about a meter long, with their six legs removed. Up close, these locusts were truly gigantic. Momo decided to start a live stream on the Fisherman’s Platform. Using her master account, the moment the livestream began, the audience went wild.
“Is that really the master?”
“Is the master about to appear on camera?”
“My heart is racing, what do I do?”
Momo didn’t show her entire face; she only let her hands appear on screen. But even this caused a stir, as her delicate, jade-like hands made the viewers unable to contain their excitement.
She skillfully began processing the locusts’ bodies, moving through each step smoothly, despite it being her first time. After cleaning the locust meat, she decided to fry half of it. Under the watchful eyes of countless viewers, the meat turned golden brown as it fried. She also enabled a taste-sharing feature, and the aroma was simply heavenly.
“I’m drooling! I want to go to the battlefield now!”
“This smells too good! Just looking at that tender, white meat, I know it must be delicious.”
“The military just issued a statement saying these locusts are non-toxic, and people can follow the master’s lead in cooking them.”
“Haha, District 8 is the fastest! The military there has already started selling locusts for ten star coins each—such a bargain! I’m going to grab a few!”
“Let’s go, hurry and get some!”
Momo hadn’t expected Mo Mo to be so efficient. Before she had even finished cooking, Mo Mo was already selling the locust corpses.
Momo took a toothpick, picked up a piece of the fried locust meat, and took a delicate bite. Although the camera didn’t show her eating, the sound was enough to convey the experience to the viewers.
After tasting, she said, “The flavor is excellent, and the energy in these locusts is also beneficial for repairing damaged genes.”
This statement caused the entire network to erupt. Everyone rushed to buy the locusts, though some stayed to see how Momo would cook the remaining half of the meat.
“Master, what do you plan to do with the other half of the locust meat?”
Momo pulled out a leek, then chopped up the remaining locust meat and stir-fried it. The aroma became even more intense.
“I always thought I was calm and composed, but this smell has awakened an impulsive side in me. If it wasn’t for the need to cook it, I’d eat this locust raw—I bet it would taste good even without preparation!”
“Why don’t you try eating it raw on camera? I’ll pay for the locust!”
“Yeah, let’s see you eat it raw!”
The crowd began to egg her on.
Momo quickly responded, “Don’t be reckless! It’s best to eat these only after they’ve been cooked at high temperatures to kill any bacteria.”
“The master is right; these insects carry bacteria. You have to cook them to kill the germs.”
“I just finished frying mine—it’s absolutely delicious! You don’t need any special preparation; just clean and fry and it’s so good I almost cried! It’s like my life before this was a waste for missing out on such a delicacy. Where can I find more of these insects? I want to go to their territory!”
“Are you planning to get eaten by the insects? General Mo, do you need any recruits? I want to join you!”
“Aren’t you from District 6?”
“I am, but I feel like joining District 8 would bring me closer to the master. Look at how quickly they started selling locusts after the master’s stream!”
“Why do I suddenly feel like there might be something between General Mo and the master?”
“Isn’t it well-known that they’re close?”
“I think it’s more than that. Didn’t General Mo get married? Who’s his wife?”
“Are you suggesting it’s the master?”
“I used to think no one was good enough for General Mo, but now I feel like he’s not good enough for the master!”
“I think they’re a perfect match! The master and General Mo are meant to be together!”
“Something about their relationship seems suspicious.”
It made no sense for them to start selling locusts right after her stream—surely they planned it together?
Momo watched the speculation and didn’t respond. She wasn’t ready to confirm or deny anything yet, so she let them guess.
Momo divided the locust dish into three portions, keeping one for herself and sending the other two to her aunt and Mo Mo.
When Mo Mo received his portion, his eyes reddened with emotion. His wife had cooked for him! He was determined to savour every bite and not waste her efforts.
Momo then turned her attention to her warehouse. She realized she had never properly organized the items she had taken from the cultivation world. Originally, she had planned to keep half of them for Qin Lin, but since he had betrayed her and left her stranded here, she had no intention of giving them to him now.
Even though it seemed Qin Lin was also here, Momo wasn’t going to hand over anything to him.
After sorting through her things, Momo found a large number of pills, many of which were still useful to her. There were also various types of equipment and weapons. She bundled up the fire-attribute items and sent them to Mo Mo, remembering the time when his clothes were burned off, leaving him naked—a memory that was still fresh in her mind. She didn’t want him to end up in a similar situation in front of other women.
Momo also found two extremely rare fire-attribute swords. She didn’t know who had made them, but they seemed almost custom-made for them.
She sent one sword to Mo Mo and kept the other for herself, binding it with blood. Even though she wasn’t a sword cultivator, she could still use it to fly.
When Mo Mo received the sword, he was momentarily stunned. He had seen this sword before—it was crafted by his grandfather, and it was meant to be a paired set. How did Momo come into possession of it?
Mo Mo was puzzled. Little did he know that the most valuable item Momo had, a space ring, was originally prepared by his grandfather for him, but it had ended up in her hands.
In the end, one of the swords did find its way back to him, returning to its rightful owner.
