Chapter 32 : Drinking Soy Milk
The sound of steady footsteps came from behind.
Mu Qianqian bit her lower lip, nervously holding her breath.
Fu Sichan’s gaze was fixed on the skin of her neck. He gently brushed aside the stray hairs near it and located the zipper at the top of the dress.
His palm was rough and hot, and Mu Qianqian seemed to be burned by it, letting out a short, involuntary whimper.
The sound was like a cat’s claw scratching at Fu Sichan’s heart, causing him to momentarily pause in his actions.
Fu Sichan held the zipper and only pulled it down a small distance, deliberately avoiding exposing too much of her.
His gaze was deep, and his voice was low and hoarse, “Can you reach it now?”
Mu Qianqian’s heart was racing with nervousness. She slowly raised her arm and managed to find the zipper of the dress.
Blushing, she nodded and whispered softly, “… Yes, I can reach it. Thank you, Mr.”
“I’m leaving. Call me if you need anything.”
Fu Sichan turned and left the room, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.
Mu Qianqian successfully took off the dress and changed into soft, comfortable loungewear.
Yet, deep inside, Mu Qianqian felt a subtle sense of disappointment.
It seemed like Mr. was completely uninterested in her, showing no reaction to her body at all.
Even though she was blushing and flustered, Mr. remained calm, helping her and then leaving as if nothing had happened.
Could it be that she was really so unappealing?
Stupid Mr. ,he must be the one who’s blind!
Mu Qianqian flung herself onto the bed, imagining the pillow as Mr. Fu, and beat it furiously with her fists.
What she didn’t know was that Fu Sichan was not as calm as he appeared.
He had intended to continue working, but it felt as if a flame had been lit inside him, burning fiercely.
Fu Sichan felt not only parched but also feverish all over, making it impossible for him to concentrate on his work.
He has been celibate for so many years, but this is the first time he has encountered such a situation.
Fu Sichan never expected to be caught off guard by a young girl.
Even Fu Sichan himself found it hard to believe.
He exhaled a breath of hot air, and finally got up, heading into the bathroom. The cold water flowing over his throat helped to extinguish the heat within him.
At dinner, Fu Sichan noticed that Mu Qianqian was eating very little, so he kept adding more food to her bowl, which quickly piled up like a small mountain.
Mu Qianqian made a distressed face and said, “Mr. I don’t eat that much.”
She was so small that she couldn’t even reach his shoulders when standing in front of him.
How could she possibly eat as much as a grown man?
“Eat more. You’re too thin.”
Fu Sichan’s black hair was still damp, his face sharp and cold, with thin lips pressed together.
Mu Qianqian, who was a bit of a beauty enthusiast, had no idea that the man sitting across from her was such a handsome guy.
“Am I too thin?” she asked.
“Yes.”
Fu Sichan had mentioned it casually, but Mu Qianqian took it to heart.
She wondered if Mr.’s disinterest in her was because she was too thin.
Looking down at her own body, Mu Qianqian felt it was indeed lacking.
A bit embarrassed and annoyed, she secretly resolved to improve her figure so that she could make Mr.’s nose bleed with her attractiveness in the future!
After dinner, Aunt Liu, the housekeeper, came to clear the dishes.
Mu Qianqian went to the kitchen and quietly asked her, “Aunt Liu, could you make a bowl of soy milk for me in the mornings from now on?”
“Soy milk? Sure, Miss Mu. Do you like soy milk recently?”
Aunt Liu’s loud voice was heard clearly by Fu Sichan, who was working in the living room. He cast a cold glance in their direction.
Mu Qianqian noticed his gaze and wished she could instantly disappear.
Her thoughts had completely wandered elsewhere, and she mumbled to Aunt Liu, “Um, just do whatever you think is best. I’ll be leaving now.”
Mu Qianqian quickly made her escape.
She was about to rush back to her bedroom when Fu Sichan called out, “Stop.”
Mu Qianqian froze in place, standing rigidly.
Seeing her so far away, Fu Sichan frowned and said, “Come here.”
“Oh,” Mu Qianqian replied slowly, moving closer to him.
Fu Sichan raised an eyebrow, “Why did you suddenly want soy milk?”
He had heard her after all!
How could his hearing be so sharp?
“Because… because…” Mu Qianqian tugged at the hem of her clothes, unsure how to respond.
She couldn’t exactly tell the truth; that would be too embarrassing.
Fu Sichan had only asked casually, but her strange reaction made him suspicious. “What’s going on?”
Mu Qianqian forced herself to stay calm. “I just wanted to drink it, no particular reason.”
Fu Sichan’s frown deepened.
Just as he was about to press further, a voice came from his computer: “Soy milk? Doesn’t it have the same effect as papaya?”
Fu Sichan was on a voice call and had forgotten to turn off his microphone.
The casual comment from the outsider made Mu Qianqian’s cheeks flush bright red, and she felt her entire face heat up.
She covered her face and ran away in embarrassment.
Fu Sichan’s expression stiffened, but he quickly realized what the effects of soy milk were.
No wonder the little girl was so self-conscious, it turned out that…
Fu Sichan recalled the comment he had made about the benefits of eating more. Had she taken it to heart?
But he had never paid much attention to her body, he only wanted her to eat more for her health. Who knew the girl would think of something else?
It felt awkward for him, as a grown man, to explain this topic clearly to her.
“Mr. Fu, why are you silent?” someone asked.
Fu Sichan thought, it was this meddling speaker who had made things so awkward, and his face darkened.
He coldly said, “We’ll discuss the cooperation later,” and ended the meeting.
Before going to bed that night, Fu Sichan hesitated for a long time at the door of Mu Qianqian’s room, debating whether or not to knock.
Just then, the door opened from the inside.
Mu Qianqian saw him and asked in confusion, “Mr. what are you doing here?”
“It’s nothing. I just came to see if you were asleep,” Fu Sichan replied.
Mu Qianqian rubbed her eyes, “I just finished listening to the class recording. I’ll go to sleep soon.”
Fu Sichan nodded slightly.
One stood inside the door, and the other stood outside.
Mu Qianqian wanted to get a glass of milk from the kitchen, but Fu Sichan was blocking the way, so she couldn’t get out.
She said softly, “Mr. could you please move?”
Fu Sichan moved aside, hesitated for a moment, and then said, “Don’t take what I said tonight to heart.”
“Huh?” Mu Qianqian didn’t quite understand.
Fu Sichan’s expression was cold, but his words were serious, “I have no opinions about your figure. No one in this world has the right to judge your body. I just hope you eat a bit more, get the nutrition you need, and recover your health soon.”
It was the first time he had said such a long string of words.
Not only was Mu Qianqian stunned, but Fu Sichan himself also felt it was unbelievable.
When did he become so loquacious?
After speaking, Fu Sichan left with a cold face.
Mu Qianqian was left standing there, and it took her a while to process what had just happened.
She felt as if she had been immersed in honey, enveloped in a sweet, warm feeling.
Mu Qianqian’s face flushed with shyness, but she couldn’t help but smile.
Although Mr. was a bit cold-tempered, he was truly a good person.
