The Billionaire’s Blind Bride
The Billionaire’s Blind Bride Chapter 40

Chapter 40 : The Mr. is no one else

“What? You saw that bitch?”

Mu Chenghui nodded. “That’s right. I just saw her coming out of the hotel. I don’t know which random guy she was fooling around with.”

“That damned girl, get her back here immediately! Instead of getting married properly, she’s messing around with someone without any status or commitment. She must be out of her mind!”

“Get her back here quickly. I’ll contact her husband and make sure the dowry money is transferred to us soon.”

Mu Chenghui was about to speak to his family, but Mu Qianqian had already left in a taxi. The family, eager for the dowry, had already hung up the phone.

Thinking about the 200,000 yuan in dowry money, Mu Chenghui ran after the taxi.

But his legs couldn’t keep up with a taxi, and he was soon left behind.

Full of resentment, Mu Chenghui returned to the security booth, only to be caught by the head of the security team.

“Mu Chenghui! Where have you been?”

Mu Chenghui looked uneasy. “Captain, I—I just had an upset stomach and went to the restroom.”

“Lazy ass! I bet you were just hiding somewhere to smoke again. Don’t even think about your bonus for this month!”

“Captain, Captain…”

Mu Chenghui wanted to plead, but the captain didn’t give him a chance and turned away.

He had worked hard all month to earn just two or three thousand yuan. Without the bonus, he’d be left with only fifteen hundred, which wouldn’t even cover his smoking and drinking expenses.

It was all that damned Mu Qianqian’s fault, she had cost him his bonus!

As long as he could get her back, he could get the 200,000 yuan in dowry.

Thinking of this, Mu Chenghui’s eyes flashed with greed and malice.

When Fu Sichan returned home from the company, he found Mu Qianqian sitting on the sofa in a daze.

“What are you spacing out for?” he asked coldly.

Mu Qianqian looked up towards him after a couple of seconds of hesitation.

“Mr, you’re back.”

She stood up from the sofa, intending to greet him. But before she had taken more than a few steps, she tripped over the leg of the table and nearly fell to the ground.

If Fu Sichan hadn’t caught her in time, Mu Qianqian would have likely had a close encounter with the floor.

Fu Sichan frowned. “What’s going on?”

The young girl looked dejected today.

Mu Qianqian steadied herself and withdrew from his embrace.

She forced a brave smile, not wanting him to worry.

“Mr. I’m fine. You must be tired. Sit down, have some water, and rest for a while. I’ll go call Aunt Liu to prepare dinner.”

As Mu Qianqian said this, she headed towards the door to call someone next door.

However, Fu Sichan suddenly grabbed her arm, his voice icy.

“What happened?”

Mu Qianqian looked down, remaining silent.

Fu Sichan tightened his grip on her arm without realizing it.

His eyes were covered with a layer of frost, his voice so cold it seemed as if it could freeze.

“Mu Qianqian, have you forgotten what you said?”

Mu Qianqian looked up, confused.

“What?”

“We are husband and wife, we should support each other through thick and thin. You can hide things from anyone, but you shouldn’t keep secrets from your husband.”

Fu Sichan’s words made Mu Qianqian’s heart burn.

If she kept everything hidden and refused to share with him, could they still call themselves a couple?

Gathering her courage, Mu Qianqian decided to tell Fu Sichan about what had happened today.

“Mr, I—I can’t work at Yun Cheng Hotel anymore. I’m sorry for disappointing your good intentions.”

“Why can’t you go?”

“Someone falsely accused me of stealing. Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, the matter has already spread, and Sister Li advised me to stay at home for a while.”

Fu Sichan’s entire demeanor was frigid, with an intense coldness. “Who accused you?”

His first question wasn’t about what Mu Qianqian had stolen but who had accused her.

From his tone, it was clear that Fu Sichan was taking Mu Qianqian’s side and did not believe she would steal.

Mu Qianqian felt warmth in her heart. “It was one of my colleagues who falsely accused me of stealing a gift. But actually, that item was given to me by a kind-hearted executive.”

Fu Sichan raised an eyebrow, “Oh?”

“Someone made things difficult for me that day, and I was so upset I cried. The kind executive then had an assistant deliver a truckload of desserts to me. Among them was a pure gold princess figurine.”

As Mu Qianqian had guessed, a person of Fu Sichan’s status wouldn’t care about a small pure gold figurine.

In their circle, it was just a gift-level item. It looked nice, so they simply put it on the food cart and sent it over.

She never expected it would lead to her being falsely accused.

Fu Sichan took a deep breath. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle this and give you an explanation.”

Mu Qianqian was a bit concerned. “Mr., won’t this cause you trouble?”

Mr. had already helped her a lot, and she didn’t want to trouble him further.

Fu Sichan smirked, “Don’t worry, this small matter won’t trouble your husband.”

Mu Qianqian sighed in relief.

“That’s good.”

Seeing her obedient and trusting demeanor, Fu Sichan couldn’t help but ruffle her hair.

“Qianqian, don’t always think about others. People who are too considerate often get taken advantage of.”

Mu Qianqian was taken aback.

No one had ever said this to her before. In her memory, her parents only scolded her for eating too much, not being considerate enough, or not being diligent enough.

So Mu Qianqian was used to being the most considerate child, always thinking of others.

Often, she overlooked her own feelings.

Fu Sichan’s words sent a warm current through her heart and a feeling of touch she had never felt before.

Her eyes misted slightly. “But, Mr, you’re not just anyone.”

Mr. is family. It’s always okay to think about family, right?

Fu Sichan’s smile deepened. “Did you like the desserts from that day?”

Mu Qianqian nodded decisively. “Yes! They were absolutely delicious!”

At her darkest moment, when she was being bullied, someone had brightened her world and made her believe that warmth still existed in this world.

“Mr, I’ll go call Aunt Liu to come and cook.”

“No need, you stay here and rest. I’ll send her a message.”

Fu Sichan sent a message to Aunt Liu, who had just bought groceries. She came straight to the kitchen, carrying bags of food, and got busy.

“Sorry, Mr. Fu, Miss Mu. The supermarket was so crowded today, I had to wait in line for a long time, so I’m a bit late. Next time, I’ll go shopping earlier.”

Mu Qianqian approached the sink, intending to help wash the vegetables.

As soon as she turned on the faucet, Aunt Liu quickly pulled her away.

“Oh, Miss Mu, the water is too cold. You shouldn’t touch it.”

Mu Qianqian smiled. “It’s fine, I’ll help you wash the vegetables.”

“I can manage on my own. You go rest outside. Dinner will be ready soon. I also bought some hairy crabs today to supplement your nutrition.”

“Mr. is working in the living room, so I don’t want to disturb him. I’ll stay here and watch you cook.”

Afraid of disturbing Fu Sichan, Mu Qianqian stayed in the kitchen.

“Feel free to watch, Miss Mu, but step back a bit. You don’t want to get splashed with hot oil.”

Aunt Liu chatted as she worked efficiently in the kitchen.

“I have a daughter at home too, she’s still in high school. She also wants to help me with the housework every day, but I just can’t bear to let her do it. I don’t even let her peel garlic.”

“Girls’ hands are delicate and sensitive. They should focus on their studies. If they can get into a good university and find a good job in the future, that will make parents feel at ease.”

When Aunt Liu talked about her own children, her tone was full of pride, a stark contrast to her usual demeanor.

Mu Qianqian couldn’t help but show an envious expression.
