Chapter 45 : The Best in the World
Mu Qianqian bit into a Sugar-roasted chestnuts, peeled it, and handed it to Fu Sichan.
“Mr. the first one is for you.”
Fu Sichan was stunned for a moment, then he took the sugar-roasted chestnut from her hand and ate it.
“Is it good?” Mu Qianqian asked eagerly.
“Mm, it’s pretty good.”
The Sugar-roasted chestnut was sweet and soft, just like a certain little crybaby.
Mu Qianqian, unaware of his thoughts, bit into another chestnut and popped it into her mouth.
The warm chestnut was both sweet and tender, and indeed quite delightful.
Fu Sichan’s gaze unintentionally fell on her.
Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the leaves, making her look as if she was glowing. Her small face was so fair it seemed almost translucent, with a delicate nose and rosy lips dusted with a bit of chestnut powder.
She was irresistibly cute.
Fu Sichan suddenly thought of the misunderstanding his grandmother had.
If the elders thought they had a child and he couldn’t produce one, it would be hard to explain.
With that thought, Fu Sichan’s gaze grew more serious.
“Do you think I’m good to you?”
Mu Qianqian tilted her head, her smile pure and innocent. “Of course you are. Mr. is the best to me in the world.”
No one had ever been so good to her before.
“Just buying you Sugar-roasted chestnuts is being good to you?” Fu Sichan teased her deliberately.
“That’s not it. Mr has helped me a lot. This exam was also thanks to your tutoring otherwise, I wouldn’t have answered so smoothly.”
Mu Qianqian had previously worried that failing the exam might result in her being held back or even expelled.
But now, with Mr. a top scholar, helping with her tutoring, all these concerns were easily resolved, and she didn’t need to worry about them anymore.
Just as Mu Qianqian finished peeling a chestnut, Fu Sichan snatched it away.
“Mr. if you want some, you could just ask instead of snatching it.”
Fu Sichan wasn’t interested in candied chestnuts.
But seeing her puffed-up cheeks like a little pufferfish, he couldn’t bring himself to return the chestnut.
“Open your mouth.”
Mu Qianqian, puzzled, opened her mouth. “Ah…”
Fu Sichan pinched the chestnut and put it into her mouth.
When her tongue accidentally brushed against his fingertips, her face flushed instantly.
With the chestnut in her mouth, her cheek puffed up on one side.
Fu Sichan reached out and poked her puffed cheek.
“Why aren’t you eating?”
Mu Qianqian snapped back to reality and calmly ate the chestnut.
Only she knew how fast her heart was racing just now.
It’s all because Mr. knows exactly how to tease! Who can resist this?
Fu Sichan paused for a moment. “Actually, I need your help with something.”
“What is it? Just tell me, Mr. If I can do it, I will definitely help you.”
She lifted her face in anticipation, her expression full of sincerity.
“I’ll tell you in a couple of days.”
……
In the private VIP room, Fu Sichan sat alone in the shadows, his profile stern and cold.
While others indulged in drinking and dancing, he remained aloof and unattainable.
A few brave dancers attempted to approach him.
This person was different from the beer-bellied big bosses. Just in terms of physique, demeanor, and appearance, he was more outstanding than top celebrities. Adding to that, anyone who frequents this place is certainly either wealthy or noble.
With so many accolades and attributes, everyone wanted to take a chance, hoping to catch his eye and possibly transform their fate.
Before the dancer could even touch Fu Sichan’s pants, a cold voice came from above.
“Get lost.”
She looked up, and the man’s face was half in shadow, but his eyes were filled with a chilling coldness.
The dancer shivered in fear and quickly moved away.
Cheng Lin pushed aside the stunning beauty in his arms and, shaking his wine glass, approached with a lecherous grin.
“I say, Mr. Fu, you don’t have some sort of affliction, do you? Coming to a place like this without enjoying yourself would be such a waste of all the money I spent.”
Fu Sichan frowned, staring at the hand Cheng Lin had rested on his shoulder.
Cheng Lin quickly withdrew his hand, fearing that if he delayed even a moment longer, he might lose it.
“I forgot, you have a cleanliness obsession. I’ll keep my distance.”
Cheng Lin raised his hand, stepped back a few paces, and lounged on the sofa, his arm casually draped over the backrest.
“With so many beautiful women in my place, hasn’t Mr. Fu found one that catches your eye?”
Fu Sichan didn’t even want to spare these people a glance.
“I’m here for something.”
“As long as it’s not about making me go back to manage the company, anything is fine.”
“Don’t worry, I’m not here to act as a mediator for your old man.”
Cheng Lin breathed a sigh of relief.
But Fu Sichan’s next words nearly made him spit out the wine in his mouth.
“How can one make a woman willingly have your child?”
Cheng Lin choked and coughed. “Cough, cough, what did you say? Have a child?”
Mr. Fu, who’s been a bachelor for almost thirty years, is finally having a revelation?
“Mm.”
Fu Sichan was known for keeping his emotions in check, and he had always looked down on Cheng Lin’s casual attitude.
However, Cheng Lin was the only one around him who, despite his frivolous demeanor, had a deep understanding of women’s hearts.
“You’re asking about having a child out of the blue? And starting with that topic? As expected of Mr. Fu, your efficiency is impressive.”
“Stop joking around and tell me the method.”
Cheng Lin placed his wine glass on the table and grinned.
“With your looks and status, just spreading the word would attract plenty of women eager to bear an heir for the Fu family. Not to mention, even I, a man, would be tempted.”
The Fu family’s substantial wealth and assets made everyone envious. If men could have children, Cheng Lin would be the first to jump at the chance.
Fu Sichan was thoroughly disgusted by his words.
Cheng Lin, sensing he had gone too far, dropped the playful attitude and answered seriously.
“Mr. Fu, you really don’t need to worry about this. You’re underestimating your own charm. Just standing there with your looks is the best solution.”
Fu Sichan impatiently rubbed his forehead. “Aside from that?”
“Even if you don’t want to reveal your identity, just your face alone will make any woman interested.”
“She doesn’t care about looks.”
“That’s impossible. Even if she doesn’t care about looks, seeing your face would make her have feelings. Unless she’s blind.”
As soon as those words left his mouth, Fu Sichan’s piercing gaze was directed at him.
Cheng Lin felt a chill run down his spine, and the effect of the alcohol dissipated in an instant.
He didn’t know which of his comments had angered Mr. Fu. After all, Mr. Fu was notoriously unpredictable in the industry.
“Cough, cough, what about offering more money? I’m sure someone would be willing to have a child.”
Fu Sichan deeply regretted coming to Cheng Lin for advice.
Cheng Lin’s surrounding women were all attracted by the Cheng family’s wealth.
In the world of fame and fortune, genuine feelings were rare, it was all about mutual benefits.
But the young girl he was thinking of was both naive and innocent, and wouldn’t compromise for money.
Since he couldn’t get an answer, Fu Sichan decided not to waste any more time and stood up to leave.
Cheng Lin hurriedly got up from the sofa to see him out.
In the corridor, Cheng Lin, unable to suppress his curiosity, took a daring chance and asked.
“Mr. Fu, I’m actually quite curious. With so many socialites and beauties around you that you don’t seem interested in, what kind of woman do you actually like?”
