{“The backseat of the Maybach late at night” 2}
No signature, but Yu Suye knew who it was.
Afraid of the dorm manager’s questioning, Yu Suye decided not to wake the sleeping child and to face the domineering CEO alone.
Yet, she had her own worries.
For instance, at this moment Bian Yuan is riding in a not so discreet Maybach.
What if she was photographed when she got out? Wouldn’t she become a topic of campus gossip? Unlike Xu Wanwan’s situation, there was no hidden affair between her and Bian Yuan—just an unexpected connection due to Bian Yuan’s daughter’s affection.
Yu Suye hesitated but eventually got into the car.
The car’s heating was very strong.
Bian Yuan’s wealth made it easy to forget the long-neglected wall lamp in his home.
“Mr. Bian, Yixing is already asleep at my place. I plan to take her to your home once she’s rested. How does that sound?”
“No rush.”
“How can it not be urgent?” Yu Suye was anxious for Bian Yuan, “Yixing is your daughter. It’s normal for children and parents to have minor conflicts. With more guidance from you, I believe Yixing will grow up well.”
“Perhaps, let her stay with you a little longer so Miss Yu can guide her well?”
Bian Yuan’s words were unexpected.
Was she being overly concerned?
She hadn’t intended to be involved, but Yixing had come to her because she trusted her.
Bian Yuan spoke with a calm demeanor, almost as if he was relieved.
He handed her another envelope.
“Thirty thousand yuan.”
Yu Suye was not unappreciative of money, but this was clearly too much. An adult in a university dorm wouldn’t need this much money for a week.
“Mr. Bian, I understand your intention, and I can take care of Yixing for a while, but I don’t need…”
Bian Yuan slowly withdrew the envelope, “You’re not materialistic, as I expected.”
Was the CEO complimenting her?
But this wasn’t the kind of praise Yu Suyue wanted at all.
That wasn’t her intention. From her perspective, she hadn’t fully expressed what she wanted to say.
Gathering her courage, she turned around and moved closer to Bian Yuan.
“Mr. Bian, what I meant is that you’re giving too much, but not that I don’t want it at all.”
After all, she was just an ordinary college student without extra savings to take care of someone else’s child.
Yu Suyue smiled awkwardly. She wasn’t the kind of person who would take care of a child for free. She knew that pride was temporary, but financial difficulty was long-term.
Bian Yuan’s reaction, however, was unexpected. His leisurely movements came to a halt, and he seemed to reflect on her words with genuine interest.
“How much do you need?”
His previously indifferent tone suddenly carried a hint of composed patience.
Bian Yuan’s response was unexpected. He seemed genuinely interested in her words.
Yu Suye didn’t understand why, but there was a strange atmosphere in the air, as if they were negotiating over child-rearing costs like any other married couple.
“Not much,” she awkwardly held up a small amount, “Three thousand would be enough.”
“Alright.”
He lightly pinched the bills and accurately extracted three thousand yuan. Despite his superior demeanor, he personally handed the money to her.
Yu Suye, like thousands of other young wives, smiled at this.
“If you need more, you can contact me anytime. Use the same number.”
“Do you not use WeChat?”
Yu Suye regretted her question, realizing that someone of Bian Yuan’s stature probably wouldn’t want a small character like her in his contact list.
At midnight, Yu Suye found herself in the Maybach’s backseat, registering a WeChat account for Bian Yuan.
Her hand shook while naming the account. She felt she lost a bit of her intelligence or perhaps just didn’t think straight at this hour.
When she finished, she had used Bian Yuan’s real name for the account.
But the ID displayed as “Bian Bian.”
Not only was it embarrassing for others to see, but Yu Suye herself couldn’t bear to look.
Her panic was evident as she pointed at the WeChat settings and said earnestly, “The WeChat name can be changed here.”
Yu Suye couldn’t force a smile, unsure how Bian Yuan would feel about the name “Bian Bian.”
Bian Yuan noticed that every piece of instruction from the girl was given with great patience, each step was explained to him in detail. Since she had given him the WeChat name “Bian Bian,” he found that, even if he didn’t want to, he could almost hear her voice calling him by that name.
At this moment, there was a faint yet refreshing scent when the girl leaned in.
Bian Yuan began to feel less averse to the role Yu Suyue played in his life.
She continued explaining how to link the WeChat account to a bank card, and when she felt she had covered enough, she quickly handed back the phone.
“Mr. Bian, you must have learned everything by now, right?”
Bian Yuan: “Yes.”
“Then please show me how to complete a payment.”
Bian Yuan took back his phone, showing no interest in the demonstration, “Later.”
He didn’t want to admit that he hadn’t paid much attention to her explanation but was more focused on comparing Yixing’s features with hers.
Yu Suye, not wanting to press him, decided it was time to leave.
She opened the car door.
At midnight, the persistent rain finally stopped.
As the rain eased, Yu Suye hoped she could run back to the dorm without anyone capturing the moment of her getting out of the car to avoid misunderstandings.
To her dismay, even this small hope was dashed.
Bian Yuan also got out of the car.
He held a large black umbrella, which undoubtedly shielded her completely at this intersection. The streetlight’s glow was blocked by the umbrella, leaving only a blurred figure beside her.
In the stormy intersection, he said, “I’ll escort you.”

Author’s Note: 【Little Theater】
Bian Yuan: She named me “Bian Bian,” she must really like me.
Bian Yixing: Is it possible my mom just made a typo?
Bian Yuan: That possibility doesn’t exist.
