Chapter 446: The Yin Pearl Transforms

Ye Wenxin didn’t ask anything more. She slowly shifted her position to ensure Long Qing’er, who was sleeping on the open side, could rest more comfortably. When she glanced over, she noticed that Long Qing’er had deliberately distanced herself, leaving a space large enough for someone else in the middle.

“Senior Sister Qing’er, I doubt your master will be returning tonight. There’s no need to leave such a big space, is there?” Ye Wenxin couldn’t help but ask. Long Qing’er froze for a moment before reluctantly moving a bit closer, but only as a gesture.

“Senior Sister Qing’er, have we become that distant? Why are you staying so far away?” Ye Wenxin asked again. As the much older one, she felt it was her responsibility to be more proactive. And besides, no matter what, Long Qing’er was Long Qingyue’s niece.

Ye Wenxin knew she had to take good care of her, out of respect and obligation. She had no improper thoughts whatsoever. However, Long Qing’er was acting as if Ye Wenxin were some sort of monster, and it was a little frustrating.

“I’m just not used to sharing a bed with others,” Long Qing’er replied awkwardly. Although they had been chatting just fine earlier, a mere thought of what had happened in the illusion made it hard to stay calm.

But since Ye Wenxin was not Long Qingyue, she couldn’t understand Long Qing’er’s awkward inner feelings, so she didn’t pay much attention. She closed her eyes and began to sleep. Even though she no longer had the same need for sleep as before, she still maintained a mortal’s work and rest routine, so that others would not notice her differences.

She fell asleep quickly, the exhaustion of the night and the various events weighing on her. However, as Ye Wenxin drifted into her dreams, she suddenly sensed something off. Her body, which had felt normal moments ago, was burning with heat, as if she had unknowingly consumed something she shouldn’t have, causing this abnormality.

Ye Wenxin slowly opened her eyes, recalling how nourishing the rabbit spirit she had eaten earlier today had been. The rabbit meat had filled her with boundless energy, much more potent than any ordinary alchemical pills or demonic beast cores.

As Ye Wenxin tried to figure out how to calm this sudden irritation, the heat within her body only grew worse. She used her divine sense to investigate and found that the qi in her dantian was clashing with the Yin Pearl, causing her extreme discomfort.

This was a trial to integrate the pearl. Ye Wenxin couldn’t lie down peacefully, so she quietly got out of bed. Long Qing’er remained unaware, likely due to her exhaustion.

As soon as Ye Wenxin stepped outside, a few Secret Guards stopped her for routine questioning. She brushed them off with a few casual words, saying she was just going for a stroll nearby, but she quickly made her way to the more secluded woods. There, she sat and began to regulate the chaotic energies within her body, feeling two forces vying for control of her dantian.

One was the domineering qi of Flower Burial, and the other was the Yin Pearl, born from natural energy. Both forces were fiercely clashing, as they competed for the resources from the rabbit spirit.

Ye Wenxin had witnessed many kinds of human battles, but she never imagined that these intangible forces, which weren’t even living beings, would fight so fiercely for survival. As the owner of this body, Ye Wenxin had no choice but to try and suppress these two conflicting energies, and establish balance. However, it seemed that the two forces had grown angry, and they began to attack Ye Wenxin herself.

Ye Wenxin, caught off guard, was injured by the internal energies, and spat out a mouthful of blood. The battle inside her hadn’t stopped, and in her frustration, she decided to release all the restraints on her cultivation. She administered acupuncture onto herself, trying to control the two opposing forces.

At that moment, the red and white energies finally seemed to calm down somewhat. They swirled around each other and gradually formed a small outline. The outline resembled a tiny person, giving Ye Wenxin a sense of dread. She knew that the Yin Pearl could grant cultivators an extraordinary ability to bear children, but she had no desire for that right now. The sight of this small figure forming in her dantian filled her with fear.

Even though the Yin Pearl was incredibly effective at preventing Qi Deviation, she couldn’t let it remain in her body. Ye Wenxin tried her best to expel the Yin Pearl from her dantian, but it refused to budge. Exhausted and drenched in sweat, she cursed, “Why you stubborn little thing… Gui Gui, get out here and do something!”

Ghost Mother came out of the umbrella sword. She opened her mouth, but ultimately chose to say nothing, and focused on helping Ye Wenxin in removing the Yin Pearl. However, no matter what they tried, the Yin Pearl stayed firmly in place. Without the Yin Pearl’s protection, Ghost Mother couldn’t handle much strain either. She immediately retreated after a couple of attempts, worried Ye Wenxin might actually torture her to death.

“Seriously… Gui Gui, you’ve been with this Yin Pearl for over a thousand years, and you don’t have any solutions?” Ye Wenxin collapsed in exhaustion, letting go of all her disguises.

Her thin inner garments and her now restored facial features revealed a breathtaking beauty. Ghost Mother, however, didn’t even glance at her. She wasn’t even willing to appear in person to respond. “I really don’t know. It came out after some effort.”

Judging by her faint voice, Ghost Mother was still quite drained.

“Have you ever heard anything from Ah Ran?” Ye Wenxin suddenly thought of Liu Churan. The last time they met, Liu Churan had appeared too suddenly. Moreover, Liu Churan couldn’t see Ghost Mother in the outside world, so the two had never interacted.

“Ah Ran only mentioned that the Yin-Yang Pearls automatically enter the body, and imprints of them will appear to signify their presence.”

Ye Wenxin froze for a moment and rolled over, trying to see if any imprint had appeared on her body.

The graceful lines of her body became even more accentuated when she moved. On her back, the peach blossom tattoo was still so eye-catching, with each flower in its unique form. The second blossom, which represented Jin Xiaoqin, bloomed brilliantly due to Ye Wenxin’s frequent wrestling with her.

In contrast, the other blossoms showed only subtle changes, but the entire array of blossoms now covered her back, fully revealing Ye Wenxin’s seductive allure.

Ye Wenxin searched her body but couldn’t find anything. She called out to Sword Ghost for help. “Take a look and see where the imprint is.” Sword Ghost’s search went much quicker, and within seconds, she spotted a crescent-shaped mark on the side of her leg. Ye Wenxin wasn’t sure if she should be pleased that the Yin Pearl had chosen such a discreet place.

“*Sigh*… What do I do now? Neither of you can get it out… who else could…” Ye Wenxin continued to mutter to herself. Suddenly, scattered fragments of memories floated into her mind, and among them was the captivating expression Madam Yu had revealed beneath her dignified facade.

“Don’t tell me I need to ask Madam Yu for help.” Ye Wenxin grumbled softly. The Yin Pearl had stirred some memories from when she had been in Qi Deviation. What stood out the most was her entanglement with Madam Yu.
