Zhang Yaowen was completely confused. What did they mean by blood recognition?
Noticing the confusion on his face, Zhang Yang whispered in his ear, “It’s a trope in some online novels—some treasures only activate after you drip blood on them.”
Zhang Yaowen seemed to understand but decided to look it up later when he got back.
Yun Tutu shook her head and smiled, demonstrating the method that Xie Yufei had told her earlier. “There’s no need for that. See the flat surface on the side of the ring? Just press it gently, and you’ll see the storage space inside the ring, where you can directly retrieve items.”
“This thing isn’t registered, so anyone can use it.” Zhang Yaowen had been thinking more about the storage ring. If it could be used by some people, it could bring many surprises. But now they were telling him that anyone could use it. What if it gets lost?
Yun Tutu responded, “I don’t know about that. They just handed it over to me like this.”
Time was really tight. She couldn’t think of everything on her own, nor could she plan for every detail.
“This is already very good,” Wu Haojun said, appreciating the value of the items she brought back. “But we can’t distribute these things to you for now. How about we calculate their value and transfer it to your account?”
Yun Tutu quickly waved her hand, “No need. I can’t use these things anyway. As long as they contribute to our country, that’s enough. Don’t give me anything.”
She then took out the projection watch, hesitated for a moment, and said, “I asked Song Song about that apocalyptic world. Although it isn’t the same dimension as ours, nor is it the future of our world, there are some similarities in history. This is just my personal opinion…”
“Don’t worry, we’ll report this,” Wu Haojun said, also feeling heavy-hearted after seeing the scenes on the projection. History often repeats itself in astonishing ways, and one can never be too careful. It seems it might be time to take a tougher stance on certain troublesome islands.
Although she had only been gone for a little over two hours, Yun Tutu’s nerves had been tightly wound the entire time. After returning and reporting for so long, not only was she mentally exhausted, but her stomach also started protesting.
Chen Yuxi, who was attentive by nature, nudged Zhang Yang and took him away. When they returned, the dining table in the villa was already filled with dishes.
The aroma of the food wafted over, and Yun Tutu couldn’t help but press her hand against her stomach, drawing a good-natured laugh from Wu Haojun. “You’ve been through a lot, and you must be hungry.”
He checked the time, surprised to find it was already late at night. “By the way, you mentioned that when you came back, it wasn’t even dark yet in that other dimension.”
Yun Tutu nodded. “Yes, it’s the first time the time difference has been this clear.”
Previously, she had always delivered goods during the day, so she hadn’t paid attention to the time. But this time, she went after dinner, and even though she stayed there for about two hours, it still hadn’t gotten dark.
“This doesn’t necessarily mean anything. It’s possible that the time of sunset is just different there,” Wu Haojun said, turning on the watch Yun Tutu had brought back, which didn’t display the time.
Everyone gathered around for a meal before heading off to rest.
Yun Tutu tossed and turned in bed for a while before suddenly jumping up and asking, “Song Song, did we gather some energy this time? Can we upgrade now?”
Song Song, who had been playing computer games in the next room, initially didn’t want to respond but eventually sighed, “There’s no need to rush. Keep working, and the upgrade will come sooner or later. You’ve only completed one task. How much energy could you have gathered? Keep working hard, and I’ll turn your motorcycle into a car.”
“Can I negotiate for something else, like bringing someone along?”
Yun Tutu kept pushing the issue. They say that two heads are better than one. If she had a companion, she’d feel more confident and could plan better.
“Keep working hard,” Song Song didn’t entirely dismiss the idea this time. “If you gather enough energy, it’s not impossible.”
Yun Tutu perked up. “What do you mean by energy? Why didn’t you mention this before? How will I know if I’ve gathered enough?”
“Didn’t I tell you?” The computer screen paused briefly before flickering back to life. “Oh, maybe you just forgot. You can check the mini-program on your phone. It was there when you first started downloading it, wasn’t it?”
Could Yun Tutu admit that she had completely forgotten about that? Stubbornly, she said, “Isn’t it your job to remind me?”
“Fine, my bad,” Song Song, eager to continue with his game, didn’t want to argue. Who knows how many more questions this human would have?
Yun Tutu quickly grabbed her phone. She had always wanted to get a new one but hadn’t had the time. “By the way, Song Song, if I change my phone, will this mini-program still be there?”
“What do you think?” Song Song replied before falling silent, ignoring her further.
Yun Tutu pouted, opened her screen, and clicked on the Cross-Dimensional Delivery app:
Each metric had a “Details” option next to it. Yun Tutu opened the energy tab first. Each completed order gave her 200 energy points. Initially, she had 1000, but upgrading her motorcycle’s storage space deducted 200, and Song Song creating a virtual puppet for her took another 200.
There were also some changes in the stamina section. It seemed that every time she completed a task, she gained one point. Reflecting on it, she realized her body did feel a bit stronger, which was a pleasant surprise.
When she checked the star rating section, she found that the progress was 5/10, meaning she needed to complete five more orders to level up.
“I see it now,” Yun Tutu said, holding her phone as she walked to the next room. “But are my points still not enough to upgrade the vehicle? Wasn’t it just 200 points last time?”
“Turning a motorcycle into a car isn’t that simple. The storage space is much larger. Keep working hard.”
“How much do I need then? You have to give me something to aim for,” Yun Tutu continued to ask. “And what about adding a partner? How many points does that take?”
“Do you have some relation to the Tang Monk?” Song Song asked instead of answering.
Yun Tutu chuckled, “Blood relation, I’m not sure, but he must be our ancestor. Don’t you know that human curiosity is insatiable? Hurry up and tell me everything you know so I won’t keep bothering you.”
Song Song replied, “Only you would say that. Even if I answered all your questions, you’d still have millions more waiting.”
“That’s why you know me so well, Song Song,” Yun Tutu grinned at the flickering screen. “If you find me annoying, I could always let Sister Chen and the others ask you instead.”
The computer screen froze and then quickly resumed, “No, thanks. Let’s just keep our communication between us.”
