The Billionaire’s Blind Bride Chapter 102

Chapter 102 : Return Home

Mu Qianqian clutched the phone, her body trembling uncontrollably.

“I—I…”

Although she had never received maternal love growing up, she couldn’t ignore the fact that this was her mother. Her mother was in the final stages of cancer and was dying; she couldn’t avoid seeing her one last time.

Mr. Mu continued to persuade her, “Dear, we’ve made mistakes in the past, but your mother realizes her errors now. Even if you have grievances, at this point, you shouldn’t hold them against her.”

“We don’t want your money. The hospital says there’s no hope. Just come back to see your mother one last time, then you can leave.”

With things put this way, Mu Qianqian could hardly refuse without seeming heartless.

Her mind was a mess, but she nodded. “I’ll go.”

Mr. Mu was finally at ease.

“Good. Tomorrow is Saturday, so come over quickly.”

The Mu family members were all smiles, their faces beaming with joy.

The neighbors couldn’t help but be curious. “What’s the good news at your house?”

Mr. Mu puffed on his water pipe. “That’s none of your business.”

Their family was about to make a big move.

……

Since hearing the news, Mu Qianqian felt like a walking zombie.

She sat in class in a daze, unable to absorb a single word from the teacher.

Her mind was consumed by one thought her mother was terminally ill, and she was about to lose her.

After class, Mu Qianqian slumped over her desk, quietly sobbing.

Fang Yanran placed a comforting hand on her arm.

“Qianqian, what’s wrong? Who called you?”

Ever since Mu Qianqian went out to take the call, her demeanor had been off.

Mu Qianqian shook her head and replied with forced strength, “I’m fine.”

She didn’t want to share her family issues with too many people.

“If you don’t want to tell me, that’s fine. But whatever it is, you can’t keep bearing it all by yourself.”

“Mm, I know.”

Mu Qianqian wiped her tears away. “Yanran, I need some time alone.”

“Alright, I’ll leave you to it.”

Fang Yanran didn’t leave but stood outside the classroom, worriedly watching Mu Qianqian.

Soon after, Fu Sichan arrived to pick her up.

He waited for a while at the school gate but didn’t see her come out. Looking at her class schedule, he went to the classroom.

“Are you a relative of Qianqian’s?”

Fu Sichan paused in his tracks.

This female student was Mu Qianqian’s good friend, whom Fu Sichan had seen a few times before.

Fu Sichan did not refute, only responded with an “Mm.”

“Today, Qianqian hasn’t been herself. After she went out to take a call, she came back looking dazed. I asked her what happened, but she wouldn’t tell me.”

Fang Yanran, anxious and worried, decided to inform someone close to Qianqian about this.

The man in front of her appeared mature and carried an air of nobility.

Fang Yanran had an instinctive feeling that he would protect Qianqian and that he could indeed do so.

Mu Qianqian was in trouble?

Thinking this, Fu Sichan’s gaze deepened.

“Thank you.”

He quickened his pace and walked into the classroom.

Seeing his urgent departure, Fang Yanran knew her intuition had been right.

The man seemed very concerned about Qianqian, indicating that he was likely a very important relative.

“Mr. you’ve come to pick me up.”

Mu Qianqian looked up from her arm, forcing a smile and trying to act as if nothing had happened.

But her reddened eyes were already noticed by Fu Sichan.

“What happened?” Fu Sichan asked.

Mu Qianqian shook her head firmly. “Nothing. I was a bit tired, so I laid down and slept for a while. It made my eyes red.”

Fu Sichan’s eyes flashed briefly as he fixed his gaze on her.

His gaze was so intense that Mu Qianqian felt a strong urge to escape.

She lowered her head. “Mr. let’s go home.”

Fu Sichan’s eyes, filled with countless emotions, instantly cleared.

“Mm.”

He took Mu Qianqian’s hand and led her out of the classroom.

Although many students had gone out to eat and there were only a few people left on campus, Fu Sichan’s appearance still attracted many female onlookers.

“So handsome! Who is this man? Is he a school leader? He looks so distinguished, with a powerful aura.”

“I don’t know. His suit seems to be an Italian handmade brand, ordinary people can’t afford that!”

“The girl next to him, is that Mu Qianqian?”

Mu Qianqian, preoccupied with her family issues, did not notice the comments around her.

Upon hearing someone recognize Mu Qianqian, Fu Sichan, wanting to avoid causing her more trouble, put a hooded jacket on her.

……

On Saturday morning, Mu Qianqian packed her backpack, preparing to return home for a visit.

“Mr. I need to step out for a bit.”

Fu Sichan raised an eyebrow coldly. “Going to Yun Cheng?”

Mu Qianqian blinked nervously. “No, not really. I’m just going out for a walk.”

Fu Sichan stared at her for a long while.

His gaze was cold, seemingly devoid of any emotion.

Finally, he spoke in a detached tone, “Go ahead.”

Mu Qianqian sighed with relief, changed her shoes, and pushed open the door to her home.

Before taking a step outside, she hesitated in her mind about whether or not to tell her Mr. about her situation.

However, since her mr was so busy with work, she decided it would be better not to trouble him with her problems.

Determined, Mu Qianqian left the house and took a taxi.

Unbeknownst to her, as she left the neighborhood, a car quietly followed her.

……

The Mu family waited anxiously at the door and finally saw Mu Qianqian get out of the taxi.

Mr. Mu quickened his pace and went over to grab her arm.

“Daughter you’re finally back. Hurry up and come with me to see your mother.”

Mu Qianqian struggled, but Mr. Mu treated her like a cash cow and was reluctant to let go.

He dragged her up the old, creaky stairs and into the house.

As soon as the door was opened, a foul, decaying smell assaulted their senses.

“Chenghui, Chengyao, your sister is back.”

Mr. Mu shoved Mu Qianqian into the room.

Mu Chenghui was lying on the small bed where Mu Qianqian used to sleep, spending his days watching TV in the living room and waiting to be served.

Seeing Mu Qianqian appear, resentment flashed in his eyes.

It was all this wretched girl’s fault! She had caused him to become a cripple!

But just thinking about that man’s methods made Mu Chenghui shiver involuntarily.

That man… was a devil from hell.

His methods were so cruel, it was as if he didn’t consider people to be human at all.

Had their family provoked such a sinister figure, were there any good days ahead?

Sweating from fear, Mu Chenghui quickly shook these thoughts from his mind.

It would be fine, everything would be fine this time.

As long as they didn’t say anything and secretly tricked Mu Qianqian into going back to the old house, no one would ever find out!

No matter how powerful that man was, could he really turn the entire Bei City upside down?

“Daughter, you didn’t tell anyone else about coming here, did you?”

Mu Qianqian shook her head. “Where is my mother?”

“She’s not home, she’s staying at the old house. Your second uncle will drive over to pick you up and take you there.”

Mu Qianqian frowned.

“But you said she was here at home. How come she’s back at the old house now?”

“What difference does it make which house she’s in? It’s all your home.”

Mr. Mu stood at the door, blocking Mu Qianqian’s attempt to leave.
