Reborn in the Interstellar World as Cannon Fodder Chapter 88

Strike Up a Conversation

Ye Mo cradled her baby in her arms, and the little one buried his face in her chest. “Mommy smells so nice. I like a mother who smells good !”

Ye Mo chuckled, seeing that her little darling liked her current body. After all, this body was truly and entirely her own.

“Thank you for liking Mommy! Mommy loves you too!” Ye Mo affectionately rubbed her face against his little head. But then, she was taken aback. “Baby, you can speak in such long sentences now? That’s amazing!”

The baby looked up at his mom, happy and proud. “Mommy, everyone can talk now.”

“Our little ones are so talented! Every one of you is a genius!” Ye Mo was overjoyed. She couldn’t help but plant a kiss on the baby’s cheek.

Blushing, the baby snuggled even deeper into his mom’s embrace, hiding his face shyly.

Although the six little ones were not yet seven months old, they had all reached at least the third level of Qi Refinement. In particular, Guaiguai had already reached the fifth level, so speaking was no challenge for them. After all, their cultivation levels were advanced for their age.

Ye Mo played with her baby for a while before recalling what she needed to do.

She glanced outside at Zhang Yuming. This guy really disgusted her. Despite knowing they were at odds, he still deluded himself into thinking he could trick her and take a child away. How could he have the audacity to loiter around in front of her? Truly shameless!

The baby sensed his mom’s displeasure. “Mommy, are you upset?”

“I saw someone I’d rather not see.” Ye Mo looked down at the baby in her arms. “But don’t worry, Mommy’s fine!”

“If Mommy doesn’t like him, just toss him out!” To the baby, nothing mattered more than his mom. And it wasn’t just him—all six little ones thought their mommy was the best.

Ye Mo squinted her eyes. Their baby certainly had a dark streak—after all, they were in space, and tossing someone out would turn them into drifting debris. Still, she couldn’t deny she liked the suggestion.

She flicked a small object in Zhang Yuming’s direction, designed to cloud his mind. As for what would ultimately happen, she didn’t much care.

Directly harming someone’s life wasn’t her style, but using a little trick? Why not? If Zhang Yuming couldn’t handle it, that just meant his mental state was too weak.

Ye Mo knew well that Zhang Yuming wasn’t exactly resilient; he was quite delicate, pampered by both his family and school admirers.

Suddenly, Zhang Yuming sneezed. He felt an eerie chill running through him like something was clinging to him. He looked around nervously, and when he glanced over his left shoulder, he spotted a pale-faced woman in red, perched on his shoulder and glaring at him with an unsettling stare.

“Aaaah!” Zhang Yuming screamed and bolted back to his room. But unfortunately, even after he locked the door and turned around, the thing was still there. Terrified, he fainted on the spot.

Zhang Yuming’s shriek reached Yu He, along with the sound of his retreat. She rushed out to check on him but found his room locked. She knocked for a long time, but there was no response.

Yu He was annoyed. Hadn’t he promised to always be good to her? How could he ignore her so soon?

What Yu He didn’t realize was that Zhang Yuming was lying unconscious on the floor, foaming at the mouth, utterly oblivious to her calls.

Ye Mo watched the scene unfold and couldn’t help but laugh. She seized a quiet moment in the hallway and stepped out with her baby, casting a small illusion to conceal his true appearance.

As soon as Ye Mo emerged with her baby, the nearby guards rushed out of their rooms.

“Madam! Little Master!”

“Madam! Little Master!” The guards lined up excitedly. Ye Mo smiled at them. “I’m taking the baby to the hall for a walk.”

The guards eyed the baby curiously. Why did he look different from the photos? But they didn’t dare voice their questions. Since Ye Mo wanted to go to the hall, they immediately made arrangements. Two guards stayed behind while the others escorted Ye Mo and her baby.

With the true mistress now in the open, security was on high alert.

Ye Mo carried the baby to the hall of the ship. There were quite a few people there, but Ye Mo’s entry was so unassuming that not many noticed her right away. Those who did were stunned—after all, it was the first time they had seen Ye Mo with her child in public.

Everyone who noticed watched the baby eagerly. The little one whispered, “Mommy, so many people are looking at us!”

“Baby, be confident. You can drop the ‘us’—they’re looking at you!” Ye Mo was sure that all eyes were on her baby, as he was the most precious treasure in the galaxy.

The baby buried his face in Ye Mo’s chest again. “Now they can’t see me!”

“No need to worry, they can’t see your true form right now,” Ye Mo reassured him, sitting at a nearby table. She turned to a guard, “I’d like a cup of milk tea!”

The guard grimaced. “Madam, we don’t have milk tea on the ship.”

Ye Mo was slightly exasperated and ended up requesting a few cups from the old butler in her space. She handed one to each guard as well.

She hadn’t added pearls to the milk tea, as she wanted the baby to try it too.

The baby took a sip and was instantly smitten. “Mommy, this is so good!”

“Yes, it’s delicious. Have a few more sips,” Ye Mo said gently, encouraging him.

Meanwhile, inside the space, Guaiguai was getting restless. “Mommy, I want to go out and play too.”

Ye Mo sighed. “Guaiguai, not right now. There are too many people around. I’ll bring you out tomorrow.”

“Okay, but Mommy, you promised!” Guaiguai was finally placated.

However, the other four little ones started clamouring too, leaving Ye Mo with a slight headache. After setting up a schedule for their outings, the little ones quieted down.

Ye Mo played with the baby outside for a while until Prince Caser approached. For some reason, the more he looked at Ye Mo, the more familiar she seemed. It was as if he had been drawn to her, but he couldn’t quite figure out why he felt that way now when he hadn’t felt it a few days earlier.

He stood in front of Ye Mo. “Miss Ye Mo!”

“Prince Caser, do you need something?” Ye Mo looked at him calmly. She had no reason to fear him now, as her cultivation level had caught up to his. Even if he regained his memories, she had nothing to be afraid of. Of course, she couldn’t compare with the background of his family, but Ye Mo had no intention of clashing with him—there was simply no need. They had no real grievances between them.

“It’s been a long time, Miss Ye Mo. You’re hard to find!” Prince Caser remarked, still puzzled over why his sense of urgency around her had suddenly intensified.
