“Come here,” Jiang Wu said angrily, driven by anger, “cut down all these trees for me.”
The cabbages were stunned, and someone tried to persuade her: “Madam, these peach blossoms have been planted for many years and are blooming so beautifully. Why cut them down?”
It had been planted for many years, Jiang Wu sneered. How could she not know that it had been planted for many years?
“Why? My words are useless in the mansion, right?”
These words startled the little cabbages again, and they obviously remembered the endings of the previous ones.
Jiang Wu’s bad mood was finally relieved after she saw the withered peach blossoms in the garden. It seemed like she finally had an outlet to vent her depression.
The anger subsided and she began to be afraid again, afraid and regretful.
She had to bet on this. It was over. What would happen if Chu Ling came back? He won’t kill her, right?
Jiang Wu couldn’t guess what Chu Ling would do. She didn’t want to admit that she still had some thoughts in her mind.
She admitted that she couldn’t compare to Chu Yan, but it was impossible that she couldn’t even compare to a few trees, right?
However, when Jiang Wu saw Chu Ling, she knew that she was no match for him.
The man sat on the armchair. Even though he was not as tall as usual when sitting down, and even though Jiang Wu was a little taller than him when standing, Jiang Wu still felt that she was being looked down upon.
His eyes were filled with the silence that seemed to be about to come.
“Why did you cut down the peach tree?”
As soon as Chu Ling opened his mouth, Jiang Wu’s legs began to go weak.
She was scared because she could clearly hear Chu Ling’s anger. The man’s hands were on the chair handles, and the strength of his grip showed that he was holding back his anger.
The situation was far more serious than Jiang Wu had imagined.
Chu Ling was a person who never showed his emotions. If he could even sense his anger, Jiang Wu felt that she would die today.
This was very likely, Chu Yan was coming back, and she was worthless. After all, before Chu Yan left, Chu Ling didn’t even want to touch her.
Now that his reverse scale had been touched again, he would definitely kill her, himself. If she was Chu Ling, she would do the same.
Jiang Wu was so scared that tears rolled down her cheeks.
She did not beg for mercy. She had seen too many people begging Chu Ling for mercy, but it was useless. Chu Ling never frowned.
Jiang Wu wanted to retain some dignity at the end.
But she couldn’t control her sadness. She still wanted to see her children, and she also wanted to see Yang Zhou and Mingzhu.
Jiang Wu’s sudden crying made the man sitting above slightly stunned, and the coldness around his body melted a little.
But Jiang Wu, who was just crying, didn’t notice it.
She felt that she was going to die soon. The fear and unwillingness of being on the verge of death made her even start to speak without thinking. As she backed away, she shouted out words that she had never dared to say before: “Just kill me! Just kill me!”
Her tone gradually became agitated, something was running rampant in her mind, causing her to have a splitting headache: “Kill me and make way for her. But Nianyin and Aye will never forgive you. You killed their biological mother, they will never forgive you.”
Jiang Wu guessed that she must be very ugly now, angry, frightened, and incompetent, and she must look very shameful in such an ugly state.
Chu Ling moved, and Jiang Wu was so frightened that she dared not say a word. She thought she was going to die the next moment, but the man just stretched out his long arms and brought her into his arms.
The armchair was not small, but Chu Ling was big, so it was fine for him to sit alone, but after hugging Jiang Wu, she felt cramped.
Jiang Wu’s entire body was pressed against Chu Ling’s.
The two of them had rarely been so intimate even on the bed. When Jiang Wu was stunned, he placed a hand on her back and patted her twice: “Calm down.”
Chu Ling’s voice was filled with a kind of subtle helplessness, “When did I say I wanted to kill you?”
Jiang Wu couldn’t help crying again: “Aren’t you angry? If you are angry, don’t you want to kill someone?”
The hand on her back stopped and moved away, and Jiang Wu found that Chu Ling was looking down at her. She couldn’t understand the deep look in his eyes, which was normal, because Chu Ling never made people understand anything.
For example, at this moment, the man avoided her sight for the first time.
Jiang Wu could no longer see his expression and could only see the firm jawline and hear what he said.
“It would be nice if it were that simple for you.”
It was a very light sentence, more like a sigh, and no emotion could be heard.
But Jiang Wu at least heard that he would not kill her.
Why? After all, she was his legal wife and the mother of his children, so even if he was angry, he would not really take her life.
Jiang Wu found these reasons, although she also knew that if Chu Ling really wanted to do it, no reason could be a reason.
At least, her life was saved.
Just as she breathed a sigh of relief, she heard Chu Ling speak: “Chuyi.”
Chuyi was Chu Ling’s secret guard. Jiang Wu was scared when he heard him call this name. Sure enough, the next moment, the man gave a calm but ruthless order.
“Those who cut down trees today will be…”
Before he could finish his words, Jiang Wu blocked his mouth with her lips.
Jiang Wu was so angry that she burst into tears again. She forgot that Chu Ling had never behaved like a human being. Even if he didn’t kill her, he would not let others go easily.
He will add sin to herself.
Because she was too anxious, Jiang Wu could only think of this method. If he was allowed to finish his words, the executioner Chuyi would execute them without hesitation.
She was actively touching the person who made her feel sick. Jiang Wu’s body was shaking when she realized this. The touch on her lips was soft, but she was trying her best to resist the urge to bite hard.
The master had not finished his order when Chuyi looked up and saw the two people snuggling together.
Chu Ling’s sharp eyes swept over, and he immediately lowered his head. Before he lowered his head, he saw the adult’s hand on the chair handle, as if he was about to give an order, but because he paused there, he didn’t know what order he was going to give.
The master seemed to hesitate, which was quite unusual. Someone who had always been decisive in killing and fighting was now hesitating. After a moment, Chu Ling’s hand finally moved.
It meant “go down”.
Chuyi understood that the master had compromised with the lady, so he turned around and disappeared on the spot.
He disappeared silently, so Jiang Wu, who was sitting with her back to him, didn’t know.
Jiang Wu only saw Chu Ling’s face but couldn’t tell whether he was happy or angry, and her lips moved slightly away.
“I gave the order,” she begged, without deliberately softening her voice. Her naturally delicate voice and the tone that was almost lost due to fear made her voice almost just a breath. “Master, please don’t make things difficult for them, okay?”
As she spoke, she rubbed Chu Ling’s face with her nose in a flattering manner, and her body pressed even more closely against him.
Chu Ling’s hands on the chair handles were clenched tightly. He narrowed his eyes and the woman in his arms was like a coquettish kitten.
After a moment’s silence, he finally spoke.
“Don’t let it happen again.”
Jiang Wu breathed a sigh of relief, but her body, which had been as soft as a boneless due to fear, began to stiffen again when she noticed the posture of the two people.
“Thank you, Master.”
She carefully tried to distance herself from him, but she was pulled here by Chu Ling, and she didn’t dare to stand up completely without his order. But if she was a little further away, Chu Ling’s body would no longer support her, and she could only stick to him again.
After several times, the man seemed to have lost all patience. He put his hands at her sides and restrained her waist, making her unable to move at all.
Jiang Wu didn’t dare to move at all, she was really scared.
The man’s hand on her waist had slowly relaxed, changing from a restraint to another kind of suggestion.
“How do you thank me?”
She could no longer ignore the hoarseness and implication in the words. Jiang Wu closed her eyes. It was over. It was another unlucky day.
