{Take Xingxing to KTV for some “learning.” 1}
The pair of clear eyes, when they returned to Yu Suye, were left with a look of innocent vulnerability.
Through those bright eyes, Yu Suye noticed a significant issue.
The little one only ate the meat inside the xiaolongbao and even discreetly spat out the skin of the xiaolongbao she had personally delivered to Bian Yixing’s mouth.
“How can children be so picky about their food?”
Bian Yixing had already faced plenty of scolding from her father for being picky.
Unexpectedly, back with her mother, things weren’t any easier.
“The skin doesn’t have any flavor.”
Bian Yixing’s voice was faint. In the large university cafeteria, amidst the considerable noise, Yu Suye still clearly heard every word of Bian Yixing’s explanation, even though the other roommates were trying to distract Bian Yixing from fussing about it.
But Yu Suye still felt that children of this age shouldn’t be so picky and waste food. The delicate little face seemed to constantly remind her that even though she had let go of her recent interactions with another man, she had even less reason to create trouble now.
Perhaps for someone from Bian Yixing’s background, a xiaolongbao skin was simply tasteless and not worth keeping.
“Yixing, you need to understand that there are many children in the world who don’t have enough to eat. In sub-Saharan Africa, many children lose their lives due to hunger.”
This sentence felt familiar.
Bian Yixing remembered that her mother had said the same thing when their family of three lived together.
It turns out that a mother is still a mother.
“I’m sorry, I won’t do it again,” Bian Yixing said urgently, “SuSu, can you please not abandon me?”
Yu Suye couldn’t bear to do that. Though the little one was a bit fussy and more particular about food than other children, it wasn’t to an unbearable extent.
She gently patted Bian Yixing’s tousled hair, “Don’t worry, I took your dad’s money, so it’s my responsibility to take care of you for now.”
Hearing this answer, Bian Yixing felt a huge sense of relief.
Children never concern themselves with why—whether it’s dad’s money or mom’s love. They only care about being with the most important people.
Satisfied, she swallowed a xiaolongbao in front of everyone, as if she was turning over a new leaf, which made the others in the room chuckle.
But soon, Bian Yixing realized she was full.
Yu Suye, seeing through this, decided to take the little one around the school to help with digestion.
And the other thoughtful sisters stayed close by.
It was a particularly special weekend, with people from all different backgrounds filling the campus. Everyone was cautious, afraid someone might come and snatch away their cute little one.
Yu Suye felt a bit sentimental about the harmony in the dorm.
If any one person’s cooperation was missing, taking in Bian Yixing might have become impossible.
For this reason, she was willing to host, “Let’s all take Yixing out to have some fun. I’ll treat.”
The studious Xiao Yang put aside her pre-reading for graduate studies, and Qi Mei canceled plans with her crush who was still in the ambiguous phase. As the most idle person in the dorm, Song Yuren had nothing to give up and looked as happy as if she had just received a bouquet.
“Where would you like to go?”
Yu Suye instinctively asked Bian Yixing, the guest of honor for the day.
The little one realized that places she liked, such as amusement parks, might seem too childish for her mom.
She offered, “Wherever you guys want to go, I’ll go with you.”
In the past, it was her mom who indulged her; now, it was her turn to reciprocate her mom’s love.
Yu Suye was momentarily taken aback. In an instant, the once-picky child appeared understanding and well-behaved. Still, Yu Suye couldn’t help but wonder if the places they usually visited were suitable for a child of this age.
Regardless of suitability, the group of female college students, along with the little one, arrived at the newly opened shopping mall.
