Reborn in the Interstellar World as Cannon Fodder Chapter 93

The Fight

“Miss Yu He should really take a good look at herself in the mirror right now. She looks like she’s about to devour a child!” Lan Feng quipped as he stepped forward to stand beside Ye Mo.

“Exactly. She really looks like she’s about to eat the kid,” Ye Mo said, hugging the puppet baby tightly and stepping behind Lan Feng. She even playfully made the puppet baby giggle, a sound that was deeply comforting to Ye Mo since it was the same laugh as her own children’s.

Yu He was consumed with jealousy. Why? Why could this child laugh?

The puppet baby Yu He was raising only ever cried. Laughter? Mo Mo never programmed that emotion.

Seeing Yu He’s envious expression, Ye Mo coldly remarked, “You should see the look on your face right now. It’s really disgusting.”

Yu He was on edge, especially since Prince Caser was busy fighting with the guards and couldn’t pay attention to her.

Ye Mo handed the puppet baby over to Lan Feng. “You’re not suited to fight a woman. Let me handle this!”

Lan Feng accepted the puppet baby with care. Even though he knew it wasn’t a real child, the guards had all grown attached to the puppet and treated it like a real one. So, when Ye Mo passed the child to him, Lan Feng held it very cautiously.

Ye Mo began stepping closer to Yu He, forcing her to retreat. Meanwhile, Yuan Lili, who was holding the child, tried to rush over to help, but her maid grabbed her by the arm. “Madam, you’re holding a child. Maybe you should hand the baby over to me?”

Yuan Lili dodged the maid’s grasp. She had become extremely paranoid. She couldn’t shake the feeling that if she let anyone else hold the baby, she and her daughter might lose everything.

The maid’s words reminded Yuan Lili that she was in no position to help. Whether or not they managed to snatch the puppet baby was a secondary concern; the child in her arms had to be protected at all costs.

Yuan Lili hurried back to her room, locking the door behind her. The maid’s face darkened with frustration. That maid had been planted by one of Prince Caser’s women to steal the child. While Yu He and Prince Caser were busy trying to grab the puppet, someone else had plans of their own.

“What do you want? Don’t come near me!” Yu He was backing away, but Ye Mo kept advancing step by step.

To be honest, Ye Mo had never fought another woman before, but now seemed as good a time as any to try. While Yu He was distracted, looking toward Prince Caser for help, Ye Mo reached out and grabbed a fistful of her hair, yanking hard.

Yu He screamed in pain—a piercing, high-pitched shriek that nearly deafened everyone in the room. Luckily, Ye Mo had been prepared, and her people recovered quickly. However, Prince Caser’s group was not so lucky.

Throughout the galaxy, most people suffered from genetic degradation, and Yu He’s amplified scream directly incapacitated several of Prince Caser’s guards, rendering them unconscious.

Ye Mo kicked Yu He out, then glanced at Prince Caser’s group, sneering, “How weak!”

Prince Caser was furious. He hadn’t expected his people to be so fragile, collapsing from nothing more than a scream.

He watched in frustration as Mo Mo’s guards seemed unaffected. Even the woman standing right next to Yu He—a mere maid, from the looks of her—was completely unharmed, despite being so close to the source of the scream.

Yu He had fainted, though Ye Mo wasn’t sure whether it was from her own scream or out of sheer terror. After all, only Prince Caser’s people had fallen unconscious. Maybe Yu He was afraid Prince Caser would take it out on her later.

Regardless, Prince Caser had no choice but to retreat, carrying Yu He with him. Ye Mo smirked. From the looks of it, their relationship seemed deeper than she had thought.

With Zhang Yuming and the fake wife both out in space, their chances of returning were slim. In a world without the male lead, Ye Mo hadn’t noticed any significant changes.

Could it be because they hadn’t had the chance to grow?

Ye Mo pondered this, rubbing her chin, before waving to the guards and heading back to her room.

The guards quickly carried the puppet baby back to their quarters. They were relieved Ye Mo hadn’t taken the puppet baby back, or they would have lost their favourite plaything.

As soon as Ye Mo returned to her room, she received a message from Mo Mo: “Momo, my darling! Why have you been ignoring me? I haven’t been able to reach you for so long. What have you been up to? How are the kids?”

The last batch of photos Lan Feng had sent had made Mo Mo jealous. His subordinates could see his children, but he, their father, could not.

During this time, Mo Mo had been busy working on a teleportation array. He had started engraving it into their wedding rings and had also created a locator ring. As long as it was placed in the spacecraft, he could teleport between locations freely.

However, for now, Mo Mo couldn’t leave the ship. They were currently in an asteroid field, and the flying rocks weren’t as predictable as those they had encountered before, so Mo Mo had to stay on constant alert.

He soon instructed the pilot to veer left, with Yan Mingke’s ship following closely behind. A massive round rock whizzed past both ships, just barely missing them.

Yan Mingke let out a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness General Mo is with us!”

His adjutant wiped the sweat from his brow. “Indeed! Without General Mo, we’d never have made it this far.”

Mo Mo continued directing the two pilots until they finally approached a barren-looking planet. Though it seemed like a wasteland, the air was surprisingly fresh, and everyone felt their bodies relax as they breathed it in.

Yan Mingke sidled up to Mo Mo. “General Mo, any findings?”

“This planet has an environment that can help repair genetic health, and the other half of the planet is covered in drinkable water. It would be an ideal place to build a wormhole,” Mo Mo said, looking at Yan Mingke.

Yan Mingke’s eyes lit up. “This place is close to the planet full of vegetation. Connecting the two would make it easier for the soldiers over there to access water.”

Mo Mo nodded in agreement.

Before long, the engineers from both ships began their work. Building a wormhole was already a routine task for them.

The engineers from both planets quickly established contact, and soon the wormhole between the two planets was constructed. Preparations like gathering materials had been made in advance, ensuring the project went smoothly.
