You Don’t Stand a Chance, Part 1
Ye Mo tried to break free from Mo Mo’s embrace, but the more she struggled, the tighter he held her.
“Why are you here?” Ye Mo asked, her voice muffled against his chest.
“I was worried someone might steal you away,” Mo Mo replied seriously. After all, there had been a time when his Ye Mo and Qin Lin were together for quite a while. He’d been chasing after them with no success, and the troubles they left behind nearly drove him insane.
Mo Mo sat down on the bed, holding Ye Mo in his arms, and quietly observed her expression. “Did Qin Lin come looking for you?” he asked.
Ye Mo glanced at his face, then pinched his cheek—it was smooth and felt nice to the touch. “Are you two enemies?” she asked.
“Something like that.” Mo Mo raised an eyebrow, then caught her mischievous hand. “Behave.”
“I’m not misbehaving!” Ye Mo said, wrapping her arms around his neck. “Do you want to see your six little darlings?”
“I do, of course, but right now, I just want to spend time with my big darling.” Mo Mo leaned in and kissed Ye Mo gently on the cheek.
Ye Mo couldn’t help but admire Mo Mo’s handsome face—it was truly stunning, even more so than Qin Lin’s. Except for the first time they met, when he was stark naked, Mo Mo had been perfect. But his unique constitution…
Ye Mo looked at Mo Mo and asked, “What exactly is your condition?”
“It’s a characteristic of being in a soul state—constantly burning, so ordinary clothes just don’t work. Unfortunately, the first time we met, Qin Lin tricked me into losing my gear,” Mo Mo said, gritting his teeth at the memory.
From that point on, he never trusted Qin Lin again. In fact, now that Qin Lin was awake, Mo Mo had rushed over as quickly as possible. He simply couldn’t trust that guy, especially since both of their fates were tied to Ye Mo.
But now, it was too late for Qin Lin—Ye Mo was his.
While Mo Mo and Ye Mo were chatting and getting closer, Qin Lin was standing outside the door. He sensed Mo Mo’s presence—his nemesis was here.
“Mo Mo, come out!” Qin Lin called from outside.
Mo Mo held Ye Mo close, completely ignoring Qin Lin. He had finally managed to deepen his bond with Ye Mo, and he wasn’t about to let Qin Lin interrupt this precious moment. With a wave of his hand, Mo Mo cast a soundproof barrier, completely blocking out Qin Lin’s voice.
Qin Lin knocked on the door repeatedly, but Mo Mo still wouldn’t come out.
Qin Lin clenched his fists. “Mo Mo, are you coming out or not?”
“Get lost, I’m busy with my wife!” Mo Mo’s voice rang out through the barrier, transmitted directly to Qin Lin, who almost exploded with rage. But because of the defensive formation Ye Mo had set up, Qin Lin couldn’t force his way in, so he could only seethe in silence.
After talking with Ye Mo for nearly an hour, Ye Mo finally took him into the space. Since Mo Mo already knew about it, Ye Mo didn’t see the need to hide it anymore.
As soon as Mo Mo entered, he noticed the Yin-Yang Pool. “Is half of that is Life Water?”
Ye Mo nodded. “That’s why I’m not really some transcendent plant master; it’s all because of the Life Water.”
“No, just having the Life Water is impressive enough!” Mo Mo said, pulling Ye Mo closer by the waist. “Thank you for trusting me, Momo.”
Ye Mo smiled. “The kids are training in the living room. Want to see them?”
“Training?” Mo Mo was stunned. He had assumed the six children were sleeping, but now Ye Mo was telling him they were training. If they were capable of training, it meant their issues had been resolved.
“Yes!” Ye Mo said, guiding him into the living room. Mo Mo saw the six little ones deep in their training, each pursuing a different path, but he could tell they had all successfully crossed their first major milestone.
“They’re at this stage…”
“They’re at the Foundation Establishment stage now,” Ye Mo said with a smile.
“Their bodily instability?”
“It’s been resolved,” Ye Mo said cheerfully.
“How?” Mo Mo asked, looking intently at Ye Mo.
Ye Mo extended her hand to Mo Mo. “Check my internal state.”
Mo Mo grasped her wrist and examined her inner workings, discovering the Golden Core within her body, identical to the pool in the courtyard—a fusion of yin and yang in the Yin-Yang Eight Trigrams Core Elixir.
Mo Mo’s hand trembled. “Momo, this is very dangerous.”
Ye Mo tilted her head slightly. “But I succeeded, didn’t I?”
Mo Mo hugged Ye Mo tightly. “Momo, you’ve been through so much.”
“For our six little ones, it was worth it!” Ye Mo said, her eyes sparkling. She would do anything for their children, and now that she had guided them into cultivation, it didn’t feel like a burden anymore.
Mo Mo looked at the Yin-Yang Pool and then began to carefully ask Ye Mo how she practiced.
Ye Mo told Mo Mo about the spiritual body, the original owner, and even the soul that followed from the dark world. Mo Mo was stunned. He had never thought that Ye Mo had experienced so much in such a period of time, and she had never told him about these things once.
Mo Mo felt sad. He couldn’t help her with anything. Although he is the father of her child and her man, he couldn’t help at all. She had to bear all these things alone.
Mo Mo hugged Ye Mo directly in his arms and then said, “Mo Mo, I’m sorry! I made you endure so much!”
“I said, anything for the children is worth it!” And most importantly, Ye Mo also gained a lot, such as her current body. Now she can say that traveling back and forth between the human world and the dark world is definitely not a problem.
Mo Mo stared at the Yin-Yang Pool, his determination solidifying. He decided he would also practice Yin-Yang dual cultivation.
Mo Mo took Ye Mo’s hand. “Come on, let’s go out of the space for a bit and meet Qin Lin.”
Ye Mo raised an eyebrow. “You sure there won’t be a fight?”
“Don’t worry, it won’t happen!”
The two of them exited the space, with Mo Mo holding Ye Mo’s hand as they stepped out of the room.
Qin Lin was waiting outside, alone. As soon as he saw them walking out, his eyes locked onto their joined hands, glaring as if he could burn a hole through them.
“You two…” Qin Lin’s voice was tight with suppressed anger.
Mo Mo smirked. “What about us? You know Momo and I are already married.”
“Those in this world don’t count!” Qin Lin shot back, refusing to acknowledge their union, especially since they intended to return to the Dark Realm.
“Whether it counts or not doesn’t matter. We recognize it.” Mo Mo raised their joined hands. “Qin Lin, you’re too late. And besides, given your status, you’re not exactly lacking in women. Your primary and secondary wives, plus all those concubines on Main Star One—you have plenty. You don’t stand a chance anymore.”
