Chapter 18 Small Business
After a few seconds, Su Yu blurted out two words coldly, “FWB.”
Shen Yan chuckled softly, not responding to her this time.
“So in her mind, that’s what our relationship is.”
He thought this woman wanted to take things further.
Su Yu finally collapsed into Shen Yan’s arms, unwilling to move.
She had never been so speechless in her life. She almost died from this.
Shen Yan pulled the limp Su Yu to the shower, letting the shower spray over her fair skin.
Su Yu slowly opened her tired eyes and said weakly, “I haven’t taken off my makeup yet.”
“Do you want me to help you take it off?” Shen Yan asked.
“If you can, then help me.”
Su Yu stood under the shower, acting like she didn’t care much.
Shen Yan looked at her with amusement. Clearly, she wanted him to help her remove her makeup, but she had to say it so reservedly.
Shen Yan squeezed out makeup remover from the shelf and directly applied it to Su Yu’s face, saying as he wiped, “What are you being reserved with me for? Just say what you want to do.”
“Which eye of yours saw me being reserved with you?”
“Both eyes.”
“…” Su Yu slowly opened her eyes and rolled them at him.
Halfway through the shower, Shen Yan inexplicably got fired up.
Su Yu lowered her eyes, couldn’t help but roll her eyes again, “You’re not serious, are you? I haven’t even teased you that much, and this is happening?”
“It’s not happening?” Shen Yan raised an eyebrow, seeming dissatisfied with Su Yu’s questioning.
The water that should have stopped was now everywhere.
…
After Su Yu came out of the bathroom, her voice was almost hoarse, and she even staggered when she walked.
She secretly glanced back at the man who was still drying his hair, gritted her teeth, and went to the closet to get a nightgown.
Wolf!
Su Yu muttered to herself, quickly changing into her nightgown.
She casually half-tied her still slightly damp hair behind her head and went to the kitchen.
She hadn’t eaten anything since she got home from work, and now she had just been messed up, making her hunger even worse.
Shen Yan finished drying his hair, came out of the bathroom, and saw Su Yu busy in the kitchen.
He walked over and glanced at the noodles in the pot, “Is this a late-night snack or what?”
Su Yu didn’t look up, “Dinner.”
Shen Yan brushed his still slightly damp hair from his forehead, then looked at Su Yu again, “You didn’t eat dinner?”
He suspected that this woman had been crying since she got home from work.
“Yeah.” Su Yu picked up some noodles with chopsticks and put them in her bowl, “Do you want some? I cooked too much.”
Shen Yan looked at the noodles, frowning slightly, “Forget it, I’m not very hungry.”
He refused, and Su Yu didn’t force him. Instead, she said to herself, “It seems a bit wasteful like this.”
When she said that, Shen Yan suddenly changed his mind, “Then serve me a bowl.”
One second he said no, the next second he changed his mind.
Su Yu looked up at him, asking uncertainly, “Are you really going to eat?”
Shen Yan nodded.
Su Yu took a new bowl and served him the noodles.
The coffee table in Su Yu’s house was too low, so Shen Yan could only sit on the carpet with his legs crossed, eating the noodles.
Shen Yan’s expression was disgusted, but he still picked up a noodle and put it in his mouth.
The taste was surprisingly good.
Su Yu glanced at Shen Yan, who was still looking disgusted just now, but now his brows were relaxed. Su Yu took a sip of noodle soup before saying, “Have you never eaten noodles before? What was that expression just now?”
Shen Yan said calmly, “I have, but not instant noodles like this.”
“Oh~” Su Yu drew out the ending, “So what kind of noodles did you eat? The expensive kind?”
Su Yu’s tone was full of teasing.
So he was disdainful of her cheap noodles.
“I’ll take you to eat it sometime.”
“…” Su Yu pursed her lips and smiled, suddenly changing the subject, “What do you do? You seem like you have a lot of money.”
The last time Su Yu saw him, he was wearing a Patek Philippe watch, a watch she had seen in a magazine before. It was worth at least six figures.
“Does it matter?” Shen Yan asked back.
Su Yu put down her chopsticks and said casually, “I was just asking. If you don’t want to say it, you can pretend I didn’t ask. I’m not very interested in knowing.”
Su Yu thought he wouldn’t say anything, but unexpectedly Shen Yan replied, “My family does some small business.”
He said it nonchalantly.
As if his family really just ran a small business.
Su Yu didn’t continue to ask, afraid of offending him.
She looked at his bowl, “Are you going to eat? If not, I’ll wash it.”
“I’m done.” He pushed the bowl towards Su Yu, not being polite at all.
Su Yu got up and took the bowl to the kitchen. Shen Yan followed and got up, took his coat that had been taken off and placed aside from the sofa, reached into his pocket and took out a cigarette and lighter.
He lit a post-coital cigarette.
Smoke billowed out from his thin lips, and he squinted his eyes, looking lazy.
He stared at the slender figure busy in the kitchen for a while before speaking slowly, “Are you feeling a little better?”
Su Yu had just finished washing the dishes and put them back in the cabinet. She turned around and answered him, “It’s okay.”
The scarlet cigarette butt was extinguished in the ashtray. Shen Yan walked towards Su Yu, lowered his head slightly to observe her carefully, lightly brushed his fingertips across her cheek, and his low voice sounded, “It’s okay? You called pretty loudly just now.”
“Did I?” Su Yu smiled falsely.
“Yes, and it sounded very nice.” He even deliberately leaned close to Su Yu’s ear and whispered.
Su Yu looked at him sideways, “Then do you like it?”
“I like it.” Shen Yan’s expression seemed to still be savoring it, and he added, “You can call even louder next time.”
Su Yu pushed his face away, “My sound insulation isn’t very good.”
She went straight to the sofa and sat down, glancing at Shen Yan’s cigarette. She didn’t ask him, but took one out and lit it.
A wisp of blue smoke slowly rose from her pink lips. She took a puff, then exhaled, her eyes a little hazy.
“Good cigarettes are still the best.” She said.
Shen Yan ignored her words and answered her previous one, “Then go to my place next time. My place has good sound insulation.”
He walked to Su Yu, lowered his body and looked at her at eye level, “You can shout as loud as you want.”
Shen Yan’s tone was gentle, with a hint of ambiguity.
Su Yu flicked the ash into the ashtray, raised her eyes to look at him, raised an eyebrow, “Go to your place?”
“Yeah, my place.”
Su Yu smiled, “But I don’t want to go to your place.”
Shen Yan raised an eyebrow at her words, “Why?”
Su Yu smiled slightly, threw the almost finished cigarette into the ashtray, “No reason.”
She pushed Shen Yan away again.
Shen Yan wasn’t angry, he just felt that she changed her face faster than turning a page.
He sat down next to Su Yu, put out her un-extinguished cigarette butt in the ashtray, he turned his head and stared into Su Yu’s eyes, “So why were you crying today?”
The topic returned to the beginning.
He still wanted to know why Su Yu was crying.
He didn’t think it was because he didn’t reply to her messages in time.
Su Yu didn’t expect Shen Yan to suddenly bring up this topic again. She pursed her lips, clearly not wanting to answer.
She turned her head away, pondered for a moment, and then said, “Are you staying here? I’m sleepy, you can stay if you want.”
After that, Su Yu got up from the sofa and went straight to the bed.
She didn’t feel like their relationship had reached the point where they could share private matters.
Moreover, it was her family business.
Shen Yan looked at the woman who was already lying in bed under the covers, a hint of complexity flashed in his eyes.
He got up in a huff, turned off all the lights in the room, walked to the window, and lit another cigarette.
Su Yu turned over, her eyelids lowered.
Her gaze fell on the slender and upright figure by the window. Her heart, which had been restless, suddenly rippled, wave after wave, uncontrollably overflowing.
The man’s profile looked exceptionally gentle in the moonlight. His fingertips held a cigarette, the cigarette butt flickered on and off, and his face was also covered with a hazy mist because of the smoke.
Su Yu couldn’t help but be mesmerized.
Shen Yan sensed her gaze and suddenly turned around, “Seen enough?”
Their eyes met, and Shen Yan’s eyes were smiling.
Su Yu was caught off guard, flustered, she hurriedly looked away, pulled the covers up, and covered her face, “Who was looking at you, go to sleep.”
Shen Yan chuckled twice, not exposing her.
In the darkness, the man’s deep and mellow voice slowly sounded, “If you have any grievances, you can tell me. I’ll listen. I won’t leave, I won’t be annoyed.”
