Chapter 201 : Mr. feels distressed
Once the doctor arrived, Fu Sichan first asked him to examine Lu Yunyao.
“Mr. Fu, rest assured, your wife is fine, it should just be normal morning sickness,” the doctor said.
Although the examination results were in, Fu Sichan was meticulous and worried there might be other issues.
So, he instructed the doctor to check the food Lu Yunyao had just eaten.
“On the surface, the food seems fine. I’ll take a sample to the lab for a detailed examination,” the doctor replied.
Fu Sichan gave a faint “mm,” tacitly agreeing with his approach.
The doctor was being cautious, wanting to ensure there were no oversights.
Based on his previous experience, the most likely cause of Lu Yunyao’s sudden vomiting was pregnancy.
A few days later, the test results confirmed there was nothing wrong with the food.
“Mr. Fu, your wife is experiencing ordinary morning sickness. You don’t need to worry too much,” the doctor reassured him.
This result was entirely within Fu Sichan’s expectations, as Lu Yunyao had already vomited at least ten times in the past few days.
No matter what she ate, the moment she caught a whiff of something delicious, her appetite would spark. But just a few bites in, her stomach would start churning violently.
Every bite she had just swallowed ended up being thrown up.
None of the antique vases in the villa were spared from the chaos.
The little girl had lost quite a bit of weight over these days; the small amount of flesh she had managed to gain on her tiny face had disappeared completely.
Fu Sichan watched this unfold, his heart aching painfully.
“Isn’t there any way to stop her from vomiting?” he asked.
The doctor replied cautiously, “There are anti-nausea medications, but caution is needed when prescribing for pregnant women, as they might negatively impact the fetus. I don’t think it’s necessary to medicate just yet.”
Seeing her pale face, Fu Sichan made up his mind.
“Prescribe the medication,” he said firmly.
He couldn’t bear to watch her continue to lose weight like this.
Lu Yunyao vomited whatever she ate, but for the sake of her child’s nutrition, she forced herself to swallow the food.
Fu Sichan had seen the suffering she endured these past few days.
He couldn’t let her suffer so much for a child that hadn’t even been born yet.
The doctor hesitated. “Mr. Fu, perhaps we should wait a bit longer?”
“Prescribe the medication,” Fu Sichan said coldly.
The doctor didn’t dare defy his orders and conservatively prescribed a few medications.
“These should alleviate your wife’s morning sickness symptoms, but the frequency and dosage need to be controlled. If used excessively, the child might be weak and sickly upon birth.”
This was the least side-effect-prone medication he could think of.
Fu Sichan nodded grimly. “Understood.”
After the doctor left, Fu Sichan went to the kitchen to personally supervise the preparation of the anti-nausea medicine.
“Leave it there, I’ll take it up,” he said.
Taking a deep breath, he carried the bowl of medicinal soup upstairs.
“Mr, what medicine is this?” Lu Yunyao asked in confusion.
She had already taken her nutritional supplements for the day. Why was he bringing her another bowl of medicine?
Fu Sichan’s eyes flickered with complexity as he softly replied, “It’s for stopping nausea. Drink it, and you won’t vomit as easily.”
Lu Yunyao’s eyes brightened. “Really? That’s great!”
She had been unable to straighten her back from vomiting these past two days and couldn’t even attend her classes.
She really needed this medicine to get better so she could eat properly.
That way, she could provide enough nutrition for the baby.
“Wait a bit longer before drinking, it’s still hot,” he cautioned.
“Okay.”
Lu Yunyao obediently waited.
Fu Sichan felt a moment of hesitation and struggle.
He wasn’t sure if he should tell her the truth.
What if she refused to drink it after knowing the truth?
But if he didn’t tell her and the baby turned out weak, she would definitely be upset.
It was a dilemma.
By the time the soup had cooled enough to drink, Fu Sichan picked up the bowl and spooned some medicine towards Lu Yunyao’s mouth.
Just as she was about to drink it, she felt a sudden movement in her stomach.
Her eyes widened in surprise. “Mr, it felt like the baby kicked me!”
“He kicked you?” Fu Sichan thought it was impossible.
Fetal movement didn’t happen this early, she shouldn’t be able to feel anything yet.
But what if the baby sensed that the medicine wasn’t good for him, and that was the reaction?
Lu Yunyao gently placed her hand on her belly, a radiant maternal glow on her face.
Suddenly, she frowned slightly.
“Mr, is this medicine bad for the baby?”
“Why do you ask that?” he inquired.
Lu Yunyao voiced her concern. “I don’t know, I just have a feeling the baby doesn’t want me to drink this medicine.”
Fu Sichan felt a lump in his throat.
He fell silent, and Lu Yunyao’s worry only grew stronger.
“The medicine affects the baby, doesn’t it? No, I won’t drink it. You should take it away.”
Fu Sichan forced himself to be resolute. “Don’t worry, a small amount won’t harm the baby. Even if the child is weak, we can give him the best care and support. We’ll make sure he grows strong.”
Lu Yunyao protectively cradled her belly, shaking her head firmly.
“Mr, I won’t drink it! I refuse to!”
“Yunyao, listen to me. You’re vomiting too severely, you won’t be able to handle it if this continues,” Fu Sichan urged.
Usually gentle and soft-spoken, this time Lu Yunyao was resolute, unwilling to back down for the sake of her baby.
She bit her lip. “Mr, if the baby gets hurt because of me, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life!”
She would rather suffer herself than let the baby be harmed.
This feeling was something she could never have imagined before she was pregnant.
Now that she was carrying a small life inside her, she finally understood the greatness of maternal love.
Fu Sichan tried to reason with her. “But you can’t keep anything down. This isn’t good for the baby’s nutrition, right?”
“If you drink the medicine a few times, it will help with the nausea, and then you can eat more to provide nutrients for the baby,” he added.
No matter what he said, Lu Yunyao shook her head defiantly.
“Mr, if the baby lacks nutrition, just take me to the hospital for an IV. I won’t drink this medicine, no matter what.”
Tears glistened in her eyes, and her rosy lips were almost bitten raw.
Seeing her so determined, Fu Sichan couldn’t force her to take the medicine, no matter how much it pained him.
With a heavy heart, he gently ruffled her hair. “I’ll take you to the hospital tomorrow.”
Once at the hospital, the doctor recommended an IV to replenish her nutrients.
However, this was only a temporary fix; she still needed to eat more for adequate nutrition.
When it was time to eat, Lu Yunyao pinched her nose with her uninfused hand, forcing herself to swallow nutritious food.
Since she refused to take the anti-nausea medication, this was the only way she could ensure she ate.
Fu Sichan felt as though his heart was being tightly squeezed.
He silently vowed that after this pregnancy, no matter whether it was a boy or a girl, he would never let her suffer like this again.

I can’t afford to read this; at 10 coins per chapter with over 500 chapters, that’s 5000 coins minus the 180 chapters it allowed me to read to get me hooked on this story. It costs .50 cents per coin. so even 1000 coins is $50.00. That makes this one book cost over $150 to read! And I complain about some of these sites costing $30 to read 1 book!
