While he said that, he kept presenting the flowers and gift box to Zhang Lu, clearly not just wanting her to understand his feelings.
It was unclear who shouted “Get together” first, but others followed suit, cheering for them to be together, regardless of whether Zhang Lu actually liked him.
However, many people remained rational, knowing that Fu Yizhi’s act was quite awkward and not only ruined the romantic atmosphere but also disrupted Zhang Lu’s birthday.
Originally, she was the main character, but now everyone’s attention was on Fu Yizhi.
That wasn’t the point; Zhang Lu didn’t care about being the center of attention; what she hated was Fu Yizhi’s seemingly generous yet pressuring confession.
Tang Song stood nearby, frowning deeply.
He wanted to grab the flowers and gift from Fu Yizhi and throw them away immediately.
But he didn’t have the right to do so; he could only endure it.
When Zhang Lu was trying to figure out how to refuse, Cen Huai’an walked over and pushed the flowers that Fu Yizhi had handed to Zhang Lu away. “Sorry, today is my sister’s birthday, not your confession day.”
Jiang Weixian, standing next to Zhang Lu, also said, “You could confess any other time, but you choose today, at my sister’s birthday party. Someone like you with impure intentions, my sister won’t like you!”
Fu Yizhi’s face alternated between red and white, and he gritted his teeth, ignoring them, and directly looked at Zhang Lu. “Lu Lu, I…”
Zhang Lu took the flowers from him, which made Fu Yizhi’s face light up with joy.
But before he could react, Zhang Lu walked to the door and threw the flowers outside.
“Lu Lu, you!”
“This is my birthday! Fu Yizhi, do you think you’re so amazing that you can confess to me on my birthday and ruin my party? How dare you think I would definitely agree to you?”
Fu Yizhi was pushed to the door by Cen Huai’an and Jiang Weixian, unable to resist.
“Push him out,” Zhang Lu said, standing by the door. “We’re not friends anymore. Take your things and give them to whoever you want!”
Then Zhang Lu turned to her classmates behind her. “Whoever cheered just now, leave too. I don’t want to be friends with anyone who doesn’t understand who I am.”
Zhang Lu was furious when she heard the cheering.
Not only did Fu Yizhi’s confession annoy her, but she was also upset that some friends joined in the pressure.
Does anyone think that one should agree to a public confession just because it happens in front of everyone?
Nobody came forward, and Zhang Lu continued to look at the friends behind her.
She knew who had cheered, and letting them leave was a way of saving face.
Someone tried to convince Zhang Lu not to be so harsh, saying that everyone was just joining in the fun and wasn’t serious.
Zhang Lu replied, “Not serious? That’s a good excuse.”
She didn’t force them to leave, but everyone knew that after this birthday, Zhang Lu would be removing many friends from her list.
After all the guests had left, Zhang Lu sat on the sofa, still feeling angry. “Fu Yizhi, that idiot! How did I even think of inviting him? What a happy day it was, and it ended so unpleasantly!”
Cen Huai’an said, “Sis, do you remember who was cheering? The first one was a guy in a red short-sleeve shirt and black shorts. He seemed to have come with Fu Yizhi.”
Cen Huai’an had a good memory.
Although he didn’t pay much attention to Zhang Lu’s friends, he knew who came with whom.
Zhang Lu’s anger reached its peak. “Yes, he’s friends with Fu Yizhi. This makes me so mad! Fu Yizhi planned this deliberately, thinking I wouldn’t ruin my birthday and would definitely agree to him!”
Zhang Lu rarely got angry, but Fu Yizhi really provoked her.
Seeing Zhang Lu so angry, Cen Huai’an stopped talking and instead tried to comfort her. “Sis, don’t be mad. Next time, be more selective about who you invite. And remember, there were many who were genuinely here to celebrate your birthday.”
“You’re right,” Zhang Lu calmed down a bit. “I can’t let one problematic person affect my mood. Today is my birthday, and I want to be happy. Let’s go skating, An’an, Weixian!”
Zhang Lu wanted to vent her frustration, and skating was the best way to do it. Sliding forward happily on the ice rink could help her forget everything.
Zhang Lu originally wanted to invite everyone to skate, but because of Fu Yizhi, she lost interest and didn’t mention it again.
Outside Yunmengze, Fu Yizhi stood with the red short-sleeve shirt guy, who said, “Brother, Zhang Lu is so arrogant. Don’t like her anymore.”
“The more arrogant she is, the more I can’t let go. I keep thinking, what would it be like if such an arrogant Zhang Lu were with me?”
The guy in the red short-sleeve shirt frowned. “Brother, I don’t think it’s possible.”
“Nothing is impossible.” Fu Yizhi looked at Yunmengze’s sign with determination in his eyes.
He wouldn’t give up on the person he liked since middle school so easily.
It was just a rejection; he could handle it.
This time he hadn’t planned well, but next time he would.
He would make sure everything was perfect and make Zhang Lu willingly be with him.
The guy in the red short-sleeve shirt felt uneasy seeing the crazy look in Fu Yizhi’s eyes.
Zhang Lu had no idea what Fu Yizhi was thinking. If she did, she would be even angrier, maybe even wanting to hit him.
They were all students, not focusing on their studies but creating all sorts of problems, which was affecting her progress.
After skating, Zhang Lu felt much better.
She walked with Cen Huai’an and Jiang Weixian towards the private room, chatting and laughing.
Just as they were walking, they saw a group of people with unsteady steps entering a private room.
Zhang Lu and Cen Huai’an exchanged glances.
“They…”
Cen Huai’an shook his head, and the three of them quickly walked over to find Jiang Zhida.
“Uncle, those people’s expressions and the way they were walking don’t look normal. They don’t seem like ordinary people.”
“Uncle, we suspect they brought something harmful in.”
“Right!” Jiang Weixian didn’t notice much but agreed with his brother and sister.
Jiang Zhida’s face changed immediately upon hearing this.
He quickly stood up, picked up the phone, and called the security and the staff.
If Zhang Lu and Cen Huai’an hadn’t been so alert, the situation could have been much worse.
When Jiang Zhida and his group arrived, the private room was filled with smoke, resembling a fairyland.
The men and women sitting on the sofas wore expressions of joy akin to ascension, their poses eye-wateringly provocative.
At a glance, Jiang Zhida frowned.
“Control them; call the police.” Without a second thought, Jiang Zhida instructed Shen Chuan to bring security and staff to check the other rooms for any illegal items.
“Be discreet about it; don’t let anyone know we’re inspecting. Bring fruit platters and snacks when you go in.” Even though Jiang Zhida was worried that someone was using drugs at Yunmengze, he didn’t want to offend all the guests.
Plus, once the police arrived, they would certainly search Yunmengze, and Jiang Zhida feared that if someone was hiding illegal items, it would lead to charges of harboring them, which would ruin the establishment.
The group of guests inside was still shouting, “What are you doing? I’m a VIP at Yunmengze! Try touching me and see what happens! I’ll report you!”
“Go ahead and complain; I’m the owner of Yunmengze.” Jiang Zhida waved his hand, neither allowing the security to release the guests nor taking heavy action against them.
“You don’t need to panic. If you haven’t done anything illegal, when the police arrive, I’ll personally apologize to you.”
Upon hearing this, the guests struggled even more, panic showing on their faces.
“Let me go!”
“Do you know who my dad is?”
“Watch out, or I’ll have my mom investigate Yunmengze!”
Threats poured out of their mouths, but Jiang Zhida didn’t look at them. He frowned and stood at the door, watching their disgraceful behavior.
Cen Huai’an and the others were originally told by Jiang Zhida to stay in his room and not get involved in these matters.
Anyone who touched those things would lose control, and when things got chaotic, it could be terrifying.
Some people were desperate and capable of anything; Jiang Zhida didn’t want the kids to come into contact with such danger.
However, Zhang Lu and the others couldn’t sit still.
They were worried about the situation developing.
Cen Huai’an and Jiang Weixian sat on the living room sofa, brows furrowed, eyes revealing concern.
Zhang Lu paced the living room anxiously. “An An, do you think they’re doing something bad? Can Uncle solve it?”
Cen Huai’an replied, “I don’t know. But I believe that no matter what happens, my uncle should be able to handle it.”
Despite his words, the kids still couldn’t feel at ease.
Zhang Lu sighed deeply, sitting beside Cen Huai’an and resting her chin on her hand as she looked toward the door. “An An, are we just going to wait here?”
Cen Huai’an glanced at her and picked up on her unspoken thoughts.
Zhang Lu turned her head, her eyes showing a desire to sneak out, and grasped Cen Huai’an’s arm. “What if we sneak out to take a look? Just at the door; Uncle probably won’t notice.”
Cen Huai’an thought for a moment and shook his head. “If we go over there, we’ll just cause trouble for Uncle.”
Jiang Weixian hesitated between wanting to go and being too scared to do so.
Zhang Lu tugged at Cen Huai’an. “Aren’t you worried? Let’s go! We three know martial arts; we won’t cause trouble, and we might even help!”
With her urging, Cen Huai’an finally relented, and Jiang Weixian followed them out of the room.
The troublesome private room they had noticed was on the third floor, while Jiang Zhida’s room was on the fourth.
They tiptoed down a floor and headed toward Jiang Zhida’s private room.
The atmosphere in the corridor was completely different from usual; each room’s entrance had added staff and security, and many security personnel and staff rushed back and forth in the hallway.
As they approached the problematic room, a staff member noticed them and urged them to return to the owner’s room, stating it was dangerous here.
Zhang Lu smiled, “We’re just going to see Uncle; it’s fine.”
Saying this, the three kids started to run, dodging the staff’s outstretched hands.
The staff had their own responsibilities and thought the boss wouldn’t let anything happen to the kids, so they went off to attend to more important matters.
Zhang Lu patted her chest. “Good thing I’m clever.”
Cen Huai’an pulled her aside behind a large potted plant. “Sis, this way.”
Another group of staff passed by.
Finally, when they reached the problematic room, the police had already arrived and were conducting a search inside.
Jiang Zhida spotted the three kids sneaking a look from the doorway, his brow furrowing as he shot them a glare.
Zhang Lu happened to be leaning at the doorway; upon seeing that Jiang Zhida had noticed them, she looked up and gave him a cheeky grin.
Cen Huai’an also looked up at Jiang Zhida, his eyes filled with worry.
Seeing this made Jiang Zhida’s heart soften; he subtly gestured for them to come over with a hand behind his back.
Cen Huai’an and the others instantly understood his meaning.
They exchanged glances, stepped lightly, and sneaked over to Jiang Zhida’s side.
Jiang Zhida pinched each of their faces lightly. “Why did you three come here? Didn’t I say to stay in the room?”
Cen Huai’an looked up at him seriously and said, “Uncle, we’re worried about you.”
Jiang Zhida couldn’t muster any anger after hearing that; he rubbed his head and, in a deliberately stern tone, said, “Stay by my side; don’t run around!”
Cen Huai’an and the others nodded vigorously like chicks pecking at rice.
