“Mr, what’s wrong?” Lu Yunyao asked, puzzled.

“Is there something dirty in your cup?”

Fu Sichan’s expression was terrifying, but he controlled his voice as much as possible while speaking to Lu Yunyao, so as not to scare her.

“There’s a pill in your cup. Have you drunk from it today?”

“A pill? How could this happen?” Lu Yunyao exclaimed, her eyes widening in shock.

“Mr, what should we do now?”

“I’ll have Assistant Wang take you to the hospital for a check-up, and I’ll return to the Lu family’s old house.”

At the Fu family, no one dared to harm Lu Yunyao; her food and water were always clean.

But as he turned, he suddenly realized.

He didn’t even know what had happened, why was he following his brother-in-law’s orders?

Lu Feng reminded, “Quickly call everyone over.”

Lu Yunbei hurried back to the villa to gather people, saying, “I’ll go right now.”

Soon, everyone in the villa gathered in front of the garden.

Lu Feng’s expression was serious as he said with authority,

“Yaoyao’s cup was poisoned. I advise whoever did this to come forward quickly, otherwise, I won’t go easy on them once I check the surveillance footage!”

After saying this, he noticed his mother-in-law’s eyes flickering.

Lu Feng asked the security guard, “Who entered or exited the villa from last night to this morning?”

“Besides the suppliers and the driver, only the old lady went out once.”

Lu Feng turned to his mother-in-law. “What were you doing outside?”

She rolled her eyes and, in a fit of anger, retorted,

“Why should I report to you what I was doing outside? If you don’t believe me, just arrest me! For a money-grubbing girl, you’d abandon your own mother!”

Uncle and Aunt quickly chimed in, “Mom, don’t get upset, brother-in-law didn’t mean it that way.”

“Exactly, you’re Yaoyao’s grandmother, how could you harm her? If you can’t trust your own family, it just shows how dark your heart is. Maybe you’ve done something wrong and can’t trust anyone.”

“Brother-in-law’s house and company are so big, who knows how he got them? With all your suspicions, it seems like he’s got something to hide.”

“If you can’t stand us here, we’ll take you back to our hometown! A gold nest or a silver nest can’t compare to our old home!”

The three of them collaborated seamlessly.

Anyone in the Lu family who doubted the old lady would be considered unfilial and dark-hearted!

They even insinuated that Lu Feng’s wealth came from shady means!

Lu Feng’s face turned dark with anger.

The old lady’s murky eyes flickered with panic.

She quickly looked at Mrs. Lu, throwing herself to the ground in a fit.

Having come from a rural background, throwing tantrums was her specialty.

Seeing her mother on the ground, crying and rolling around, Mrs. Lu felt a mix of emotions.

She prepared to help her mother up, saying, “Mom, please get up. Let’s talk this through.”

The old lady swatted her hand away. “Get away! I don’t want a daughter like you! All you do is side with outsiders and bully your own mother!”

“I’ve dedicated my life to both of you siblings, how much effort have I put in? And now you doubt me! I can’t go on, I can’t go on…”

Uncle and Aunt exchanged glances filled with calculating intent.

They looked at the Lu family members, eager to see the drama unfold.

Mrs. Lu was pushed to the ground by her own mother.

At that moment, her heart sank.

Lu Feng insisted on calling the police and reviewing the footage, and Mrs. Lu did not stop him.

Soon, the police arrived.

Through the surveillance footage, they learned that after the old lady left the villa last night, a stranger wearing a hat approached her.

After a brief conversation, the old lady bought a pill from the stranger and sneaked back into the Lu family home.

The pill was identical to the one found in Lu Yunyao’s cup.

The evidence was irrefutable!

The old woman was taken away directly by the police and detained on the same day.

Uncle and aunt were stunned, and then they pointed the finger at Mrs. Lu.

“Sister, are you so cruel that you just watched our mother being taken away? You didn’t say a word, you unfilial daughter!”

Mrs. Lu wiped the tears from her face and said with a determined heart:

“You can torture me, but you should never hurt Yaoyao! She is my life!”

Originally, she didn’t plan to cut off contact with her family, but she didn’t expect that her concession would lead to her mother and brother’s family becoming more and more demanding!

She could turn a blind eye to whatever little tricks they did.

But they just wanted to hurt Yaoyao, which she absolutely could not tolerate!
