Wilderness Livestream Room [Interstellar]
Wilderness Livestream Room | Chapter: 1

[edited]

Orpheus Galaxy: Uranus Star.

After landing from the interstellar spaceship, a medium-sized multi-person spacecraft carried Su Ge towards the most bustling area of this planet.

Looking out the window, Su Ge felt her eyes were dazzled.

This unfamiliar planet was much larger than Earth, especially the city she was currently in, it’s called Ulla. It was the center of Uranus and the headquarters of the entire Interstellar Alliance. Besides its absolutely advanced futuristic metropolis, what impressed Su Ge the most were the flying vehicles everywhere.

With various shapes and dazzling colors, these flying vehicles were buzzing around the city like headless flies. Su Ge felt dizzy watching them and couldn’t help but think inappropriately, with so many flying vehicles zooming around without any traffic control, it’s amazing that there is no collision.

The spacecraft moved quickly and soon gently stopped in front of a huge, transparent, and brilliant oval building. Just after stepping out of the spacecraft and greeting the guide beside it, Su Ge heard a lot of screams with varying pitches, tones, and even languages.

Following the sounds, she saw lots and lots…of different races gathered around several other spacecraft not far away.

By now, the Interstellar Alliance had over three thousand planets and star systems of various sizes. Just like a large forest with all kinds of birds, many planets and systems in the Interstellar Alliance hosted a diversity of races beyond description.

With increasing interactions among the alliance, seeing species from other planets was not unusual, especially on a planet like Uranus, known for its mass immigration. The residents here were long used to it.

Of course, this wasn’t the case on Earth. Earth had no alien immigrants—none at all. The reason was simple: in the eyes of everyone in the Interstellar Alliance, Earth was too poor and backward to be considered a viable immigration destination.

This, of course, was why Su Ge was here today. She wasn’t here for a vacation; she bore the heavy responsibility of Earth’s future.

Having just joined the Interstellar Alliance this year, Earth was classified as a Category V planet, the lowest tier. A Category V planet meant poor, backward, and unsuitable for development. Generally, such planets wouldn’t be absorbed by the Interstellar Alliance, as every year the Alliance had to provide humanitarian aid to Category V planets, and no planet wanted to spend its money on supporting backward species. Earth’s membership in the Interstellar Alliance was a fluke, like a once-in-ten-thousand-years jackpot.

Just as a wealthy city might need a few beggars to showcase its compassion, the affluent Interstellar Alliance needed a few Category V planets to demonstrate its benevolence, but not too many of them.

In this way, the number of planets and star systems that wants to join the Galactic Alliance to take advantage of its benefits is quite large.

Last year, Earth surprisingly won the lottery to join the Alliance. It’s worth noting that there are at least 8,000 to 10,000 planets vying to join each year, but the Galactic Alliance only selects one to three planets every fifteen to thirty years. This winning rate can be considered quite remarkable.

Before this, it was said that Earth had participated in the lottery seven or eight times without success. This time, winning the spot left the entire Earth feeling as if they had been struck by a pie falling from the sky. As the Minister of External Propaganda, the immediate decision was to take advantage of this stroke of luck—no, let’s correct that—to take advantage of this opportunity to promote Earth. The goal was to make Earth more noticeable among the numerous first, second, and third class planets, thereby attracting more humanitarian aid in the following years.

After all, with more money and resources, Earth can improve its planetary classification and hopefully sooner shed its embarrassing status as a fifth class planet.

However, as a newly joined fifth class planet in the Galactic Alliance, there are not many ways for Earth to attract the Alliance’s attention. Unless a massive war breaks out or a huge resource is discovered, the only option is to slowly build up its credentials. Besides this, there is another unconventional and innovative approach.

The Galactic Alliance has created a program called “Wilderness Livestream” to provide some entertainment for various planets.

In simple terms, this program involves sending people from different planets to an uninhabited wilderness planet for a year. During this year, people from these planets can showcase how their species transforms the wilderness into fertile land through live streaming to the entire Galactic Alliance. They can also display the unique characteristics of their home planets to different star systems. If they are lucky, they can attract a large number of tourists or resources.

This program has been around for some years and remains popular, serving as a powerful platform for major planets to showcase their strength. It also provides smaller planets with an opportunity to present themselves and gain some recognition.

The Earth’s Minister of Galactic Propaganda wanted to seize this opportunity to showcase Earth to other planets in the Galactic Alliance. Even a slight increase in visibility could lead to more humanitarian aid next year.

Thus, candidates from Earth were selected according to the requirements of this program.

The surrounding screams continued, rising and falling like an undulating yet somewhat unpleasant chant.

With just a glance, Su Ge saw people of various heights, skin colors, and unique appearances from different races. Their attention was clearly focused on the passengers disembarking from several spacecraft, and as these passengers began to step down, the exclamations and screams reached another peak.

“Rong Shi?” As a complete newcomer to the Alliance and the program, Su Ge had no idea who this person was. She simply followed Mipa’s words, asking, “Who?”

The guide, Mipa, was a Keroite. Keroite were not tall, with adults reaching only seventy to eighty centimeters in height. Despite their short stature, Keroite was renowned for its advanced mechanical engineering. They could even operate a battle machines hundreds of meters high. Keroite was one of the largest spaceship manufacturing planets in the entire Galactic Alliance and was also part of the first tier of planets within the Alliance.

Mipa glanced up at Su Ge and felt that this Earthling was utterly clueless about the basic knowledge of the Galactic Alliance. She sighed quietly and explained, “He is Rong Shi, the Royal Major General of the Milky Way Galaxy.” She paused for a moment and then continued, “The Milky Way Galaxy is the largest galaxy in the Galactic Alliance and one of its four major economic centers. Two planets from this galaxy hold seats among the core members of the Galactic Alliance. And this particular individual is ranked as the top ideal husband choice for all unmarried women across the universe.”

Blinking her eyes, Su Ge automatically tuned out the last part of Mipa’s introduction. She didn’t have a concrete understanding of the earlier descriptions, but she understood that the Milky Way Galaxy was a significant presence in the Interstellar Alliance, and that this young man named Rong Shi was likely the future inheritor of this prestigious position.

Yes, it was confirmed, he was someone she would never have any dealings with within her lifetime.

Still, Su Ge was quite curious: “Why would such an influential person need to participate in a show to enhance their planet’s influence?”

Well…

Mipa pursed her lips and squinted her eyes, genuinely avoiding her question: “But your luck isn’t great. You’re going to be on the same live broadcast as Rong Shi. Trying to enhance your planet’s influence might be…”

At this point, Mipa shrugged and stopped speaking. Su Ge’s face stiffened as she realized the downside of this situation. If Rong Shi was that impressive, he would attract all the viewers to his broadcast. How was she supposed to complete her mission then?

Tsk tsk, really… what a bad luck.

Rong Shi felt an extremely unfamiliar gaze directed at him. Although the Milky Way Galaxy was now an economic center, it originally swept the entire cosmic network with its powerful sensory and combat abilities. They could keenly distinguish various presences.

Just now, Rong Shi felt that this gaze was definitely not from any familiar race but from an extremely unfamiliar one. He immediately looked towards the gaze, only to see a slender figure and a head of black hair disappearing from his sight.

“Who was just there?” Rong Shi turned to ask the attendant beside him.

Being an attendant to the Royal Major General Rong Shi of the Milky Way Galaxy was no small task. Being observant and alert were basic skills. So, when Rong Shi asked, the attendant, who had been silently standing behind him almost unnoticed, immediately stepped forward and whispered in his ear: “It should be an Earthling.”

Earth? Ling?
