Chapter 13 “Ji Jiangye, are you out of your mind?”
Shen Xingyan felt it made sense and thought that overthinking wasn’t really his style.
After school in the morning, he hurried out of the school gate. Chen Rui, who was still sitting at his seat, looking to find Shen Xingyan to go to the cafeteria, opened his mouth wide and blinked in confusion.
“Shen Xingyan, why the rush? You don’t need to rush to get food, right?”
It was only when Shen Xingyan reached the school gate that he remembered he didn’t actually know where Ji Jiangye’s house was. Despite chasing after Ji Jiangye for several months, he hadn’t even figured out what he liked.
Just as he was about to turn back to the school, the system sneered a few times. Shen Xingyan stopped halfway back.
【Go back, Host. Everything is fine.】
【At worst, it’s just death.】
Shen Xingyan fell silent for a few seconds. Was it his imagination, or did he feel like the system was saying something very contradictory.
Helplessly, he took out his phone again, opened QQ, and surprisingly, Ji Jiangye replied to his message at that very moment.
【No need for so many whys】
【Simply don’t like】
Shen Xingyan quickly replied.
【Where are you now?】
【I have something important to ask】
【Home】
【Then I’ll come to your place. Don’t worry, I won’t come empty-handed!】
【?】
As Shen Xingyan pondered how to explain without sounding abrupt in response to Ji Jiangye’s last question, Ji Jiangye actually sent his location.
It was a place very close to the school.
“His home is actually this close?” Shen Xingyan furrowed his brow but decided to buy something before going over, remembering what he had just said.
However, just like Ji Jiangye, he didn’t live in the dorms.
The location Ji Jiangye gave was an apartment building. Shen Xingyan looked at the number 3116 on top, but couldn’t find the doorbell.
Carrying the food in his arms, Shen Xingyan was about to make a video call to Ji Jiangye when the door opened, and a sour and sweet fragrance wafted out like waves.
Ji Jiangye was dressed in light blue home clothes, with moisture all over his body, a pair of black-framed glasses on his face, and his black hair dripping water, sliding down his neck.
The scent rushed into Shen Xingyan’s nostrils, making him oddly feel a sense of obedience in him.
Feeling a bit uneasy, he averted his eyes and tossed the things he was carrying directly at Ji Jiangye.
“Here, as a token of gratitude.”
Ji Jiangye took the items, his black eyes filled with complex emotions.
“So, you came to me just to give me these things?” Shen Xingyan widened his eyes, three words written on them.
What else?
Ji Jiangye fell silent, sighing deeply. “Forget it.”
He turned and took the items to the living room, leaving Shen Xingyan standing at the doorway, deep in thought.
Was he going to let him in or not?
But it was clear that Ji Jiangye wasn’t going to. After quickly putting the items away, Shen Xingyan walked out, his face slightly flushed, his eyes under the glasses misty, and the dark circles under his eyes no less than Shen Xingyan’s.
“Is there anything else?” he leaned against the door frame, his hoarse voice restrained.
“What’s wrong with you?” Even though Shen Xingyan’s heart was big, he noticed something was off with Ji Jiangye.
“Are you feeling unwell or running a fever?”
Shen Xingyan reached out to touch Ji Jiangye’s forehead, but he dodged it.
“I’m fine.”
But Shen Xingyan was stubborn. He wouldn’t let Ji Jiangye dodge him, so he narrowed his eyes, grabbed Ji Jiangye’s shoulder with one hand and placed his hand on his forehead with the other.
Ji Jiangye’s breath hitched, he endured and endured, his entire body becoming stiff.
“You are a bit hot.” Shen Xingyan frowned.
But he had no experience taking care of others, as he was always the one being taken care of, so he didn’t know if his judgment was right.
The moment his hand touched Ji Jiangye’s forehead, the cool temperature from his hand made Ji Jiangye clench his fists involuntarily, his tongue pressed against his itchy canine teeth, his black eyes fixed on Shen Xingyan.
“Once you’re done, leave quickly.” His tone was a bit gritted.
“Where are your family, Ji Jiangye?” Shen Xingyan leaned forward slightly, trying to see inside.
However, in this position, his spotless nape was completely exposed to Ji Jiangye’s view.
“Not home.”
Ji Jiangye’s eyes trembled, he suppressed the urge, shifted his gaze away without a trace, his long hand tightly gripping the door frame.
“No.” Shen Xingyan, adhering to the principle of helping someone all the way, was about to pull him in, find some medicine for him.
But the sour and sweet scent became stronger, and he could even smell a hint of alcohol, making his brain dizzy.
“Ji Jiangye, why is your pheromone so—”
Ji Jiangye was stunned. “You can smell it?”
Although Shen Xingyan hadn’t paid much attention in physiology class, he knew that the concentration of alpha and omega pheromones usually wouldn’t be so high.
Shen Xingyan took a few steps back, covering his nose with both hands. “Why does it smell a little like alcohol?”
The system, which had been studying all night:……
【Host, the system advises you to run as fast as you can.】
Before Shen Xingyan could ask back, Ji Jiangye pulled him into the apartment when he was about to retreat to the railing, and he closed the door behind him.
Ji Jiangye pressed Shen Xingyan against the door, his hand uncontrollably reaching towards his nape, then stopped in mid-air.
He closed his eyes, trying to suppress the urge, his tongue constantly rubbing against his canine teeth.
“Ji Jiangye, what are you going crazy?”
Shen Xingyan was startled and pushed him away.
Looking at the usually carefree Shen Xingyan, Ji Jiangye recalled the way he had been so caring just a while ago.
He took off his glasses and threw them aside, grabbing his wrist tightly.
“Didn’t you come to find me?”
Shen Xingyan finally saw clearly Ji Jiangye’s eyes. Usually, those eyes were full of coldness, a feeling of keeping people at bay, but now they were more like demons crawling out of an endless abyss.
“What’s wrong with you?” he couldn’t help but move closer to the door.
【Breaking news, according to the system’s detection, the target has a 99% chance of being in heat, and a 1% chance of going crazy.】
Heat?
Heat??
Shen Xingyan’s mind went blank. He felt like he had heard this term somewhere before, but he couldn’t remember.
His dazed look annoyed Ji Jiangye, he lowered his head and bit his shoulder through his clothes.
After biting, he didn’t let go, grinding his canine teeth against that spot.
“Hiss—” Shen Xingyan gasped. “Ji Jiangye, you’re not a rabid dog, are you?”
“Why are you biting people!”
Accompanied by the scent of pheromones, Shen Xingyan began to feel his limbs go numb. He gritted his teeth and forcefully pushed Ji Jiangye back.
In a daze, Ji Jiangye actually felt a faint fragrance coming from his own private space. He was pushed by Shen Xingyan and almost fell to the floor.
Shen Xingyan turned his head to look at his shoulder, his cheeks and ear tips flushed without his knowledge.
“Ji Jiangye, if you’re going crazy, go to the hospital!”
