“This outfit is really something!”
The zipper was smooth.
The material felt comfortable.
And… that was it.
Yu Mingxi desperately wanted to find an excuse to defend his father’s taste in clothing.
But… there was no way. He couldn’t lie to himself.
After all, his father’s wardrobe was typically curated by professional stylists. Most of the time, Yu Jinxiao didn’t need to worry about choosing clothes—everything was pre-matched. Simply putting on an outfit made him look more dazzling than a celebrity.
Because of this illusion, Yu Mingxi always assumed his father had good fashion sense.
At the very least, it shouldn’t be this bizarre.
The neon green dress was disturbingly odd. It lacked any waistline and had a straight, boxy cut, with a decorative bow on the side, making it look like a walking beetle.
And then there was that coat!
Yu Mingxi’s brow twitched. He couldn’t believe he was witnessing such an eye-sore of an outfit in real life. It was mind-boggling. The coat was a hideous mustard yellow with garish pink trim. As if that wasn’t bad enough, there was an orange flower pinned to the chest.
Good heavens.
Thanks to this coat, Yu Mingxi had now seen the unthinkable—three mismatched colors all crammed into one piece of clothing.
“Do you like it?” Yu Jinxiao asked, a rare hint of anticipation in his voice.
He didn’t often give gifts. Business partners and associates were easy to please—just give them something expensive. But Yu Yuan was so young, he couldn’t exactly give her an antique vase or a century-old painting, could he?
Yu Mingxi made a small noise, trying to figure out how to gently remind the little girl to be careful with her words, so as not to hurt their father’s fragile pride.
Just as he raised his hand, Yu Yuanyuan bounced up like a little bunny, holding the clothes high. “Can I wear it now? I love it so much!”
Yu Mingxi: “…” Well, clearly, he was worried for no reason.
Feeling inexplicably proud, Yu Jinxiao called Aunt Chen over, asking her to help Yu Yuanyuan change.
The house had a dedicated dressing room.
“All done!” A few minutes later, a soft voice came from inside, followed by the door swinging open.
Yu Mingxi was stunned.
The dress, which looked horrendously ugly at first glance, somehow looked cute on Yu Yuanyuan. That neon green beetle-like dress, so hideous it could keep someone awake at night, suddenly became fresh and vibrant on Yu Yuan’s adorable little figure. The whole style transformed.
Aunt Chen had even tied her hair into a fluffy side ponytail, with the slightly curled ends bouncing playfully as she walked.
It was like a little fairy from an enchanted forest had come to life.
For the first time, Yu Mingxi truly understood the phrase “people make the clothes.”
Had this dress been given to anyone else, it would likely have been returned the same day out of sheer ugliness—assuming anyone would buy it in the first place.
Sneaking a glance at his exceptional father, Yu Mingxi thought, Is this really fashion sense?
“Hmm, not bad,” Yu Jinxiao nodded, trying to appear calm, though his eyes were full of self-satisfaction.
Yu Yuanyuan spread her arms and twirled in front of everyone, showing off the outfit. Once she had finished her “fashion show,” Aunt Chen took her back into the dressing room to try on the next outfit.
From behind the closed door, soft murmurs could be heard.
A moment later, Yu Yuanyuan exclaimed, “This one makes me look like…”
“Ha ha ha!” Aunt Chen couldn’t help but laugh.
The curious exchange piqued both Yu Jinxiao’s and Yu Mingxi’s interest.
After what felt like an eternity, the little cutie emerged again.
This time, she wore the dreadful mustard-yellow coat, paired with a white puffy skirt and a light pink T-shirt, both of which Yu Jinxiao had also bought.
With her hands behind her back, Yu Yuan licked her lips, her words slurring, “Daddy… I look like… food.”
“Food? What food?”
Aunt Chen covered her mouth, laughing, “Young Miss said she looks like… bacon.”
