Yu Yingze found it amusing and decided to keep listening to see how “Teacher Yuanyuan” would continue her lesson.
“This…” Yuanyuan’s tiny stick pointed at a picture of a bird, “This is… um… it flies…”
Oh dear, Teacher Yuanyuan had a sudden brain freeze.
Yu Yuanyuan began to sweat nervously, her little pointer tapping the board repeatedly.
Why couldn’t she remember?
“It’s an eagle,” Yu Mingxi whispered softly, as if afraid of disturbing imaginary classmates.
“This is a little liao (bird)~,” Yuanyuan insisted in her sweet baby voice, completely ignoring her brother’s helpful hint.
“Hahahaha!” Yu Yingze, who had been quietly observing, couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
What kind of teacher was this, misleading her students!
“Second Brother, we’re in class right now, so please keep quiet,” Teacher Yuanyuan seriously adjusted imaginary glasses on her nose, performing a flawless pantomime, “Don’t disturb the other kids.”
Yu Yingze looked around the room.
It was just her and her brothers—where were these “other kids”?
The heartwarming scene suddenly felt a bit eerie.
Despite usually being brave, Yu Yingze rubbed her arms as a shiver ran down his spine, goosebumps forming.
“Second Brother, do you want to join the class?” Teacher Yuanyuan invited him lovingly.
Yu Yingze scoffed, retreating to the corner, hands in pockets, trying to act cool. “Hmph, no way. You haven’t even been to kindergarten. I’m not taking your class.”
“Alright then.” Teacher Yuanyuan was very disappointed.
Her disappointment lasted all of two seconds. Spotting Yu Mingxi sitting patiently, his gentle eyes filled with expectation, she quickly forgot about her second brother.
“Big Brother, let’s continue the lesson, okay?”
“Sure! What’s next, Teacher Yuanyuan?” Yu Mingxi encouraged her.
The little one turned serious. “Let’s look at the next one… this is… hmm?”
The next picture stumped Teacher Yuanyuan right away.
Is it… that one? But didn’t we just see it earlier?
Yuanyuan was starting to question her knowledge.
After staring at the flashcard for a long while, she finally made a decision. “This is a big dog!”
Yu Yingze, who had been listening, immediately knew something was off.
A big dog?
That was clearly a wolf!
“Wait, hold on…” Yu Yingze couldn’t help but speak up.
“Please raise your hand if you want to talk during class.”
Yu Mingxi nodded in agreement, playing along with Teacher Yuanyuan’s rules. His cooperative attitude made Yu Yingze feel like he was the odd one out.
With a deep breath, he reluctantly raised his hand.
“Second Brother, you may speak.”
“That’s a wolf, not a dog.”
“But Yuanyuan saw one on the street before,” she tapped her lip with her little finger, suddenly enlightened. “I remember now, it’s called… a Husky! It’s a really big dog!”
Wolf: You’re the Husky. Your whole family is Huskies.
Yu Yingze’s head was buzzing. He looked toward Yu Mingxi for support. “Big Brother, taking this class is going to make us dumber! Let’s go play puzzles instead!”
“Puzzles? What’s that?” Yuanyuan’s curiosity was instantly piqued.
Yu Yingze shuddered at the thought of this little munchkin attempting puzzles. It would be an utter disaster—on the scale of world-ending chaos.
“Never mind, you keep teaching,” Yu Yingze said, quickly dismissing the idea, motioning her to continue.
“Alright, let’s move on to the next one!” Teacher Yuanyuan’s excited voice announced the next picture. “This is… a snake!”
“No, wait!!!” Yu Yingze pointed at the huge “insect” character beneath the image. “It says insect! It’s an insect!!”
