The little head moved closer and closer, with her mouth wide open in effort.
Yu Jinxiao felt a chill run down his spine. He quickly stood up, feeling a slight tug of pain as the little cub pulled on his hair.
“Daddy! I told you not to move!” Yu Yuanyuan protested unhappily.
“This isn’t working,” Yu Jinxiao, for the first time, felt a genuine threat to his well-being. He immediately refused, saying, “You go to sleep now. I need to sleep too.”
Without giving the little munchkin a chance to argue or throw a tantrum, Yu Jinxiao swiftly closed the door and stepped out of her line of sight.
On the bed, the little cub scratched her messy hair, her face full of confusion.
Back in the fairy realm, both Mama and Daddy would always help smooth her fur.
Her snowy white fur was always neat and shiny—so bright it reflected light! No matter where she went, she was the brightest cub!
Yu Yuanyuan thought that if she helped smooth her daddy’s hair, he might be happier.
But from the way he ran away just now, it seemed like he was escaping…
Her little brain struggled to comprehend such a complex situation. Unable to figure it out, Yu Yuanyuan flopped back onto her pillow, curling up into a comfy position.
Her chubby body formed a round lump under the blanket.
She slept soundly that night, free from nightmares and unpleasant thoughts, feeling perfectly at ease.
In the morning, still half-asleep, she sniffed the air and detected a sweet fragrance. In an instant, she sat up, wide-eyed.
Her long lashes fluttered gently, and it took a moment before she could fight off the drowsiness and fully open her eyes.
“Mmm, smells so good!” The newly awakened little one shook off sleep, climbed out of bed, and opened her door to sniff again, thoroughly satisfied.
Wow, it smelled like freshly baked bread—her favorite!
And not just any bread—freshly baked, warm, delicious bread!
Her tiny mouth practiced munching, already anticipating the taste. Sleepiness lost the battle against hunger, and the little cub quickly toddled off to the bathroom.
The sink was designed at a standard height, with the thought that kids would eventually grow taller.
However, for Yu Yuanyuan, it was like scaling a mountain—an impossible challenge.
She suddenly remembered the small stool by the bed and, after some effort, dragged it to the bathroom. Standing on it, she could barely reach the faucet.
She carefully recalled the steps her teachers at the orphanage had taught her, along with how her big brother helped her wash up last night.
First, fill the basin with water. Then, fill the pink cup. Next, squeeze the white paste onto the stick (toothbrush).
“Yuanyuan, are you awake?” There was a knock at the door—it was Yu Mingxi.
It was the weekend, so both Yu Mingxi and Yu Yingze didn’t have school.
After knocking once with no response, Yu Mingxi knocked twice more, but the room remained eerily quiet, with no answer.
Cracking the door open slightly, Yu Mingxi raised his voice, “Yuanyuan, your brother’s coming in, okay?”
It was important to instill a sense of gender differences early, and Yu Mingxi understood this well, because… their mom used to say so.
But Yuanyuan was still so young. Many kids her age still slept with their parents.
He was worried something might have happened.
“Br…Brother!” A pitiful, tearful voice floated out from the room.
Yu Mingxi couldn’t wait any longer. He pushed the door wide open and saw that the bathroom light was on, with the door ajar.
“Yuanyuan, are you in the bathroom?”
“I’m here, I’m here.”
The soft voice sounded pitiful, filled with grievance.
Bathrooms can be slippery. Could she have fallen while using the toilet?
Yu Mingxi’s imagination ran wild, scaring himself half to death.
But when he walked into the bathroom, he wasn’t greeted by a tragic scene.
There was a basin filled with water for washing up, and there stood Yuanyuan next to the toilet, clutching a toothbrush, her mouth completely filled with white foam.
Oh, and her hands were covered in foam, too.
