Battle with the Giant Octopus, Part 1

At that moment, Ye Mo nudged Mo Mo, saying, “Honey, take a look at the original wormhole!” Over at the wormhole, a small whirlpool had formed. Ye Mo was wondering if the vitality water could flow through the wormhole and onto another planet.

Mo Mo looked at Ye Mo in confusion, “Why are you looking there?” He gently grasped her hand.

“That wormhole we built earlier, do you think we can use it to transport the water? I mean, could the water flow through the wormhole to another planet?” Ye Mo asked earnestly, feeling that this idea could work.

Mo Mo glanced in that direction and shook his head. “That would be difficult. The wormhole spans a great distance, with space in between. How do you expect water to cross that?”

“What about the teleportation system from the Pet Baby Net? Could we use that?” Ye Mo tilted her head, recalling the suggestion from the online discussions. Someone had proposed that the Pet Baby Net should open up a teleportation service since it was the only platform capable of transporting living creatures.

“I’ll consider it,” Mo Mo replied, patting Ye Mo’s head. “Don’t think too much about it. I’ll find a way to deal with these things.”

Ye Mo resisted the urge to roll her eyes. They were stuck on this tree canopy, so what was wrong with thinking of solutions?

Suddenly, one of the star warriors pointed and shouted, “Look! Look! What’s that?”

“Oh my, what is that? It seems alive!”

“With something that size, could it be a legendary whale?”

“That doesn’t seem right. Whales have rigid bodies. This thing looks soft.”

Everyone followed his gaze. In the distance, a massive black creature was swimming toward them. Everyone began guessing at what it could be.

It was clearly alive, its body soft and flexible, and most importantly, it was headed straight for them.

“I feel a dark aura!” Mo Mo glanced at the creature and immediately took flight. It was a massive black octopus, and Mo Mo could sense that its body was filled with dark energy.

Ye Mo quickly followed him, using her spiritual senses to observe the creature. It was a colossal black octopus. That size—had it gained sentience?

“We can’t let it get closer!” Without waiting for Ye Mo to respond, Mo Mo dashed toward the black octopus.

Ye Mo flew after him, intent on helping.

Meanwhile, the star warriors on the tree canopy clenched their fists in frustration. With their aircraft rendered useless, they felt completely helpless standing there.

Mo Mo moved swiftly, and in no time, he was already above the black octopus. The creature, seeing Mo Mo approaching at high speed, extended a tentacle to attack. Initially, it had intended to capture Mo Mo, but his speed was too great. Now it aimed to swat him away. However, Mo Mo was quick to react and dodged the tentacle with ease.

SPLASH! The tentacle slapped the water’s surface, sending waves soaring nearly ten meters high.

“Wow, such incredible power!” someone gasped. The live broadcast continued, and the giant octopus had now entered the view of all the netizens.

The entire galaxy was in an uproar.

“What is that thing?”

“Is it an octopus? How is it that big?”

“Must be mutated, right?”

“A black octopus… Could its entire body be poisonous?”

The size of the creature was staggering. Its head alone was five or six meters wide, and one of its tentacles extended at least ten meters.

Angered after missing Mo Mo with its first strike, the octopus sent several more tentacles hurtling out of the water, all aimed at him.

Mo Mo deftly dodged each attack, and as Ye Mo flew towards him, he shouted, “Sweetheart, stay back!” It was too dangerous. The energy within the black octopus radiated pure violence and malice, and Mo Mo didn’t want her anywhere near it.

Ye Mo stared at the black octopus. Though she couldn’t discern its cultivation level, she could tell it was immensely powerful. Its body was filled with a strange energy she couldn’t fully comprehend.

Ye Mo suspected that this octopus had become a monster, likely lurking in the deep sea of the Planet Life for who knew how long, and something had disturbed it, driving it to the surface.

Mo Mo didn’t want her to get too close, so she stayed back, hovering in mid-air, watching the battle from a distance.

Meanwhile, the entire galactic network was glued to their screens, captivated by Mo Mo’s battle with the giant black octopus.

In the footage, the massive octopus lashed out with its tentacles, while Mo Mo darted around at lightning speed, evading every strike. Some viewers couldn’t even keep up with his movements anymore.

Ye Mo, floating serenely in the air, stood out in stark contrast. She hadn’t moved a muscle, and many viewers shifted their focus to her.

“If it weren’t for the lady flying there, I’d swear the General had hit the fast-forward button.”

“He’s moving so fast I can’t even keep up. I’m just watching the lady now.”

“Haha, I’ve been focused on her for a while now.”

“Even just watching her from behind is mesmerizing!”

“What kind of clothes is she wearing? They look incredible!”

“I have no idea, but we definitely don’t sell anything like that here.”

“Looks like some kind of ancient dress.” The live-stream audience began to drift off-topic.

Suddenly, someone exclaimed, “I can’t see the General’s moves clearly, but I’ve studied how the lady is flying. I’m sure the air isn’t providing any support for her.”

“Must be some kind of advanced ability, right? Maybe wind manipulation?”

“On our planets, even if people have abilities, their genetic health is too poor to allow much progress.” This person was speaking the hard truth: without good health, it was almost impossible to develop abilities to their full potential.

At this moment, the octopus had fully emerged from the water. Its tentacles were not limited to just eight—they numbered in more than a dozen. While a few tentacles floated on the water’s surface, the rest were focused on attacking Mo Mo, and one was secretly creeping toward Ye Mo.
