Rescue Mission, Part 2
“Take a break!”
“Yeah, please take a rest, okay?”
“It hurts to watch you guys push yourselves so hard. Please, take a break before you collapse.”
“Exactly! The planet’s rotation is still unstable. If you keep going, you might end up like the people in Districts 3 and 4 and get thrown off balance.”
“Yeah, you have to save them, but you also need to take care of yourselves!”
Online, everyone was begging Ye Mo and Mo Mo to rest. After such a long period of rescue efforts, Ye Mo and Mo Mo were still holding up, but the children and the interstellar soldiers were starting to falter.
Mo Mo called Ye Mo to discuss whether they should let everyone rest for a while, but Ye Mo wasn’t ready to let them stop just yet. It wasn’t that she was being stubborn; she was worried about how the online community would react.
If they didn’t push themselves to the limit, would people recognize their efforts? If they didn’t go all out, many would accuse them of not giving their best.
Ye Mo was keeping an eye on what was being said online. Although many people were urging them to rest, she was also considering it. However, she also carefully observed each soldier’s condition. They were reaching their limits, but none had completely broken through them yet.
Ye Mo wanted them to break through their own limits.
She sent Mo Mo a supply of Vitality Water and discussed their plan. They agreed not to use it on the soldiers right away but to save it for when they pushed past their limits.
Ye Mo and Mo Mo, with their powerful senses, continuously monitored the children and the soldiers.
In District 3, a soldier collapsed, sitting cross-legged as he fell. Everyone thought he wouldn’t be able to get back up, but to their surprise, he stood up again in less than ten minutes.
As soon as he stood up, Ye Mo was already at his side, handing him a vial of Vitality Water.
After drinking it, the soldier immediately sat down again, cross-legged.
The viewers watching this were baffled.
“Why didn’t he lie down to rest?”
“Why did he sit cross-legged? Is it easier to recover that way?”
“What did the General’s wife give him to drink? I feel like his energy came back instantly!”
“Yeah, what was that? Even through the screen, I can tell it’s something life-changing.”
“I want to join the rescue too!”
“Don’t bother; you’ll just make it harder for the General and his wife.”
“Exactly, don’t add to their troubles.”
Meanwhile, in District 4, another soldier collapsed and then sat cross-legged. Mo Mo’s approach was the same as Ye Mo’s.
Everyone was amazed. “Did the General and his wife plan this?”
“Yeah, it looks like they coordinated it!”
“Maybe it’s just their synergy!”
“I don’t buy it!”
“Me neither! The General and his wife definitely planned this.”
Most of the interstellar soldiers involved in the rescue efforts in Districts 3 and 4 had collapsed, but Ye Mo and Mo Mo waited until they got back up before giving them the Vitality Water.
When even the six little ones finally collapsed from exhaustion, it broke the viewers’ hearts.
“Why push them to exhaustion? Seeing them like these hurts so much!”
“Why? Does anyone know why?” asked a user named “Flowers Bloom in October.”
“So, what’s the reason?”
“Yeah, why push them so hard? I’ve been saying they should rest!”
“Right, I’ve been telling them to rest too. If it were an ordinary person, they’d be dead by now. It’s heartbreaking to see this!”
“Sigh, I don’t even know what to say. I feel the same as Flowers Bloom in October.”
“Flowers Bloom in October, tell us why!”
“Yeah, Flowers Bloom in October, spill it!”
“I’m curious too. Why make them work until they collapse before letting them rest?”
Flowers Bloom in October sighed and typed, “If they don’t push themselves to the limit, would the keyboard warriors acknowledge their effort? If they took a break without collapsing, wouldn’t people claim they didn’t try hard enough?”
“Who would be that nasty?”
“Ha! Plenty of people are like that. Remember how Districts 7 and 8 helped fight for Districts 3 and 4? How many people criticized them for that? This thankless effort has been repeated so many times by Districts 7 and 8. Whether they get any appreciation is another story, but I hope the people waiting for rescue in Districts 3 and 4 understand that they’re truly giving it their all.”
“Exactly, they’re doing everything they can. It’s not that they don’t want to save you; it’s just that there are others in Districts 3 and 4 who need help even more urgently.”
“To those in Districts 3 and 4, please don’t hold grudges. The rescuers are limited in number. If you can, try to help yourselves!”
“Yeah, if regular people go over, they’ll only make more work for General Mo and the General’s wife. Let’s not add to their burdens.”
“The General and his wife are exhausted too. They’re not just rescuing others; they’re also taking care of the interstellar soldiers. It’s incredibly draining.”
“Right, they’re the only ones still going without rest. I really hope they can take a break.”
“They haven’t hit their limit yet, and I’m really worried the keyboard warriors will attack them.”
“We’re all watching. If any keyboard warrior dares to criticize them, we’ll band together and take them down.”
“Yeah, expose them!”
“Find their addresses, dig up everything about them, even their ancestors.”
“If anyone acts like a keyboard warrior, we’ll all visit their homes.”
“Yeah, let’s take turns visiting them, watching them 24/7 to see if they dare be keyboard warriors again.”
“Guys, aren’t we getting off track? General, General’s wife, please rest. I feel like you’re so, so tired!”
“Right, General, General’s wife, please take a break. We have seen your effort!”
“I’m from District 3. General’s wife, please rest. I’m not in a hurry. Really, I’m at home now, and we can still buy nutrient solutions, so don’t worry, we can hold on.”
“Exactly, please rest. We can manage. It’s been so long since I properly rested; I’m going to take this time to just relax at home.”
The people in Districts 3 and 4 were pleading, but in reality, they weren’t feeling great either. With gravity and the magnetic fields still out of whack, even lying at home made them feel dizzy and nauseous.
It was really uncomfortable!
