{“Office play NO, midnight snack drama YES.” 2}
Fortunately, Yu Suye could experience what it felt like to be a president in her lifetime, so she decided not to bicker with Bian Yuan about it.
To that end, she took out her phone, adjusted the filter, and decided to take a few personal selfies in Bian Yuan’s chair.
However, due to the limited length of her arms, her selfies always made her round face appear too large. She subtly shifted her gaze toward Bian Yuan.
Because her hint was too obvious, Bian Yuan couldn’t ignore it, and he noticed a similarity between the mother and daughter: whenever they looked at him like that, it was sure to mean trouble.
Sure enough.
“Are you very busy with work?” Yu Suye beamed her signature fake smile. “President Bian, could you take a couple of photos for me? I want to show them off to my parents.”
Bian Yuan stood up.
Recalling what Yu Suye had said about her parents, he had done his research and knew that their family was indeed very close.
“Are you sure you want to send a picture of yourself sitting in my chair?”
After some careful consideration, Yu Suye somewhat agreed with Bian Yuan’s perspective. Sitting in such a prominent position might be too ostentatious, and a regular female college student taking selfies there might make her parents uneasy.
“Then let’s forget it.”
Yu Suye didn’t feel too disappointed, as her parents would eventually find out about her situation when they visited the new house soon.
“It’s not like we can’t take a picture.”
Suddenly, the aloof and distant man offered some human and practical suggestions. “At worst, I’ll sit back in my chair, and you can stand next to me for the photo. That should work.”
Yu Suye found it hard to believe.
Bian Yuan’s occasional friendliness caught her off guard, and before she could respond, Assistant Lin had already been called in.
“President Bian, what do you need me for?”
“Take a photo.”
When he personally handed the unfamiliar woman’s phone to Assistant Lin, the assistant didn’t quite understand but was greatly shocked. When had President Bian ever cooperated for someone else’s photo?
If nothing unusual happened, even at high-profile banquets, Bian Yuan had always refused such requests.
But today, Bian Yuan specifically reminded her, “Pay attention to the lighting when you take the photo.”
In this cloud of uncertainty, Yu Suye managed to take her first photo with Bian Yuan. What’s even more amusing is that the little one, Bian Yixing, didn’t make an appearance in this photo.
One sat upright and serious, while the other stood, confused and indecisive.
However, their gazes intertwined at the moment the picture was taken.
Then, under Bian Yuan’s unexpected supervision and urging, Yu Suye, in front of him, posted the photo in the group chat titled “The whole family is about to get rich.”
Only after Yu Suye successfully sent the photo did Bian Yuan stop his oversight.
Yu Suye even suspected that if Bian Yuan weren’t the president of Bianji Group but just an ordinary senior, she would almost think he was a scheming guy trying to show off in front of her parents.
After the photo session, Assistant Lin could finally leave the spot, and Yu Suye generously vacated the only presidential seat.
She rolled over to the sofa where Bian Yuan usually sat and began to scroll through her phone, happily amusing herself.
Not long after, the boss could no longer tolerate it.
Reluctantly, Yu Suye followed him again.
Bian Yuan handed her his phone.
Yu Suye felt that this part-time job was a bit special; she had to use her boss’s private phone, and she already knew too much.
Bian Yuan succinctly asked, “What do you want to eat?”
“You can order for yourself; the balance should be enough.”
Yu Suye took a moment to gauge what Bian Yuan considered “enough” in terms of balance. Sure enough, everyone had different standards, and for Bian Yuan, it was a nine-digit figure.
However, Yu Suye felt a bit uncomfortable with this. Many people were working overtime in the office, and here she was, not working, yet enjoying the privilege of a late-night snack while the diligent employees were being exploited without such benefits.
After careful consideration, she said to Bian Yuan, “I’ll step out for a bit.”
She found Assistant Lin, who had just taken their “wonderful family photo,” and through him, she checked how many people were online on the company intranet.
Yu Suye looked at Bian Yuan’s account balance and felt no guilt at all; instead, she generously ordered 233 portions of late-night snacks.
Even Assistant Lin was included.
Assistant Lin appeared somewhat embarrassed. “Our company doesn’t usually do this.”
Yu Suye understood that capitalists were heartless and showed a knowing expression.
Assistant Lin hadn’t initially realized the relationship between the president and the woman, but suddenly, it dawned on him: since this woman was taking care of the president, they must have a very close relationship.
Initially, he thought it was abnormal that the president was indifferent to women. Now, he realized that the only one who had to keep working overtime without weekends was poor little him.
Before Assistant Lin could ponder further, he noticed that the president’s little girlfriend had already ordered various lamb skewers and beef skewers. Perhaps considering the number of people in the company and their differing tastes, she even specified that the chili should be delivered separately.
But Assistant Lin didn’t scrutinize further; he belatedly realized that the phone being used wasn’t even hers. She wasn’t spending her own money to treat the president; she was… using the president’s generosity.
When did the president start entrusting such private matters to others?
Assistant Lin couldn’t help but sigh again.
Yu Suye didn’t return to the office to wait for the takeaway; instead, she chose to stay at the bottom of the Bianji Group building by herself.
She felt it was more comfortable that way.
When the barbecue delivery arrived, she immediately pulled Assistant Lin along to help deliver the food to various floors, allowing everyone to choose their preferred items first. The threshold to enter Bianji Group was high, and the quality of the people inside was much better than the group of men she had seen outside today. Among them were even enthusiastic responses from well-dressed urban beauties.
Yu Suye went around distributing the snacks.
She even had a strange illusion that if one day she started a business in the same industry as Bian Yuan, perhaps this large group of people would be willing to follow her.
Finally, when Yu Suye returned to the floor where Bian Yuan was, there were only a few skewers left in her foil bag.
However, based on her guesses, Bian Yuan wouldn’t mind; after all, the president probably wasn’t interested in these high-calorie, low-cost grilled skewers.
She lifted the few remaining skewers with one hand while eating a golden potato skewer from the other.
But when she turned around, she encountered the icy expression on Bian Yuan’s face.
Yu Suye had no idea what heinous act she had committed to make the president so unhappy.
“President Bian, are you going to eat too?”
He parted his thin lips. “Taking what others don’t want and giving it to me?”
“They all have their own employee cafeteria; you don’t need to be so enthusiastic. You should consider yourself first……” and me.
Bian Yuan would never admit that the answer he gave his daughter an hour ago—“impossible”—was nothing short of absurd. He couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotions within himself regarding her consideration for the employees.
