Chapter 11: The Painting Style Was Simply Out of Place (1/2)
“Manager Shen, why is this young lady not working?” During business hours, a few customers who had visited yesterday occasionally pointed at Sugar, teasing her.
The implication was clear: “Why isn’t this Cat Girl wearing a maid outfit?”
“She will be coming to work normally tomorrow.” In response, Shen Cheng, while brewing coffee, would often leave the customers with a deliberate mystery, watching as a group of men eagerly imagined Sugar in a maid outfit.
One sleazy customer was even more outrageous, approaching the counter and holding up his phone: “Miss, what’s your name?”
Shen Cheng felt the veins on his forehead bulge, wanting nothing more than to punch this annoying man out of the shop.
Zhou Dongliang jumped, startled, and took two steps back, chuckling awkwardly.
But he was still a source of income—a cash cow that couldn’t be driven away.
Of course, this was on the premise that Zhou Dongliang did nothing out of line; otherwise, regardless of whether he was a cash cow or not, Shen Cheng would surely kick him out of the shop!
Sugar retreated two steps without expression and said blandly, “Sugar.”
“Oh~” Zhou Dongliang let out a noise of both surprise and desire, surprised to discover Sugar’s unemotional attribute and curious since he assumed Sugar was a pseudonym.
Indeed, no one had initially considered Cheese’s name to be genuine.
However, no one minded; most people actually found it quite fitting to give Cat café employees such “nicknames.”
At this moment, the one responsible for this situation was nonchalantly scrolling through their phone.
Friends over at the police station had responded to Shen Cheng, suggesting that investing in a psychiatric evaluation might be a good idea.
Upon hearing this, Shen Cheng felt oddly relieved, perhaps because it gave no reason to send Sugar away?
Admittedly, Shen Cheng acknowledged being a bit greedy.
Sugar, who wasn’t serving as a waitress, was beside Shen Cheng, helping with small missions.
Ideally, Shen Cheng wanted Sugar to learn how to bake cakes with him to alleviate some of the kitchen work since this cat didn’t seem dim at all.
Before long, the door to the Cat café swung open again; the welcoming Lin Yuhui and Cheese stood at the entrance ready to greet, only for their smiles to freeze the next moment.
The newcomer was a burly, menacing man with a long scar across his face that intersected with one eye and a shaved head whose glossy top even glinted a bit under the light.
The man said nothing, simply sweeping his eyes across the shop before finally resting his gaze on Shen Cheng behind the counter, striding straight towards him.
Lin Yuhui’s face blanched from red with fear.
Was this…someone collecting protection money?
It couldn’t be; senior just started their business, and the Cat café was just gaining some momentum. If protection fees were paid and those leeches kept extorting, the Cat café wouldn’t last long!
Senior’s dream…
Thinking of this, Lin Yuhui mustered the courage to take a step forward and said, “Sir, please sanitize your hands and put on shoe covers before entering the shop.”
With this, Lin Yuhui pointed towards one side of the wall.
Upon hearing this, the man’s sharp eyes narrowed, towering over Lin Yuhui who was nearly half his height.
Shen Cheng’s expression was not pleasant either, frowning as he looked at the imposing figure close to Lin Yuhui.
The patrons in the shop had gone silent at this point, all fixated on the fierce man who had just entered.
After glancing at Lin Yuhui, the man looked towards the wall where Lin Yuhui pointed, finding the signs emphasizing these two points were indeed there.
Nodding, the man turned to sanitize his hands, put on shoe covers, and then walked straight to Shen Cheng.
Shen Cheng raised an eyebrow. What was this? Precaution before action? Or perhaps… this guy was here just to pet cats?
