Release the Female Lead, Leave Her to Me
Release the Female Lead Ch. 477

Chapter 477: The Yandere, Liu Churan

Meanwhile, a woman in red was sitting in a private room. Her skin was as white as snow, her bearing as graceful as a fairy, and her expression carried an alluring charm. She sipped her wine while watching an umbrella, floating in the air before her.

The beautiful woman occasionally nodded and muttered to herself. An ordinary person might think she was insane. But in fact, another woman, no less stunning than the first, perched casually on the umbrella. She had black hair and green eyes, dressed entirely in white, her complexion pale, yet it was unable to hide her breathtaking beauty.

It was clear that the woman in red was Liu Churan, and the ghost on the umbrella was Ghost Mother.

The two hadn’t seen each other for a long time. Liu Churan had deliberately orchestrated Ghost Mother’s abduction—partly to catch up, and partly to inquire about the whereabouts of the Yin-Yang Pearls.

“Gui Gui, what’s wrong with you? You’ve been twitching since earlier.”

But today, something seemed off with Ghost Mother. Gone was her gentle and quiet demeanor, replaced with unexpected liveliness, which made Liu Churan feel very strange.

Even now, Ghost Mother’s body moved involuntarily. Her expression was unreadable, and she covered her mouth, afraid that if she spoke, strange sounds would escape.

Since Ghost Mother and Sword Ghost shared the same soul, Ghost Mother could feel whatever sensations Sword Ghost was feeling. She received Ye Wenxin’s warnings loud and clear.

Ghost Mother had much to say to her old friend.

She wanted to talk about how Ye Wenxin was a beast in human form, how Ye Wenxin had deceived her. But when she considered the complicated relationship between Liu Churan and Ye Wenxin, Ghost Mother hesitated, feeling she couldn’t unravel the tangled webs.

“Ah… Ah Ran, have you found your Qingcheng yet?” Ghost Mother decided to probe first. Even though Ye Wenxin had forced her into this situation, she still wanted to hide the terrible truth on Ye Wenxin’s behalf.

“I’m always one step too late. I’m starting to suspect she’s avoiding me on purpose.” Liu Churan furrowed her delicate brows, as if puzzled by how she always seemed to narrowly miss encountering her dear Demon Lord.

But the more Liu Churan thought about it, the more determined she became. She was willing to pay any price, to bring back the person who had been playing hide-and-seek with her, to keep her by her side for a lifetime.

“Maybe she really doesn’t want to see you.”

Ghost Mother immediately recalled Ye Wenxin’s microexpressions whenever Liu Churan was mentioned. At the same time, she struggled to suppress her body’s reactions, silently cursing her master for being such a pervert.

It had barely been one day since she ran away, and yet Ye Wenxin couldn’t resist pouring all her affection into her other half. But Ghost Mother couldn’t speak about this connection, because, knowing Liu Churan, she would most likely burn her to ashes.

“Why wouldn’t she want to see me? It’s not like I’m going to eat her. I just want to talk with her,” Liu Churan grumbled, casting an annoyed glance at Ghost Mother. Ghost Mother patiently waited for her to elaborate.

Liu Churan’s expression turned dreamy. “I want to talk about a lifetime together, make sure she only has eyes for me.”

“What if the Demon Lord already likes someone else?” Ghost Mother asked again. She pinched her own leg to transfer the sensation to Sword Ghost, warning the other two to not get too carried away.

“Then I’ll kill them. It’s that simple.”

A maniacal grin split Liu Churan’s face, as if the thought of that scene excited her.

“If someone’s already touched her, I’ll just cut off the part of them that touched her.”

Liu Churan’s words grew more and more deranged. Ghost Mother became even more terrified to confess the secret she had originally intended to share. If she did, the first to die wouldn’t be anyone else—it would be her.

Ghost Mother realized that in just a few years, Liu Churan’s obsessive tendencies had worsened dramatically. She suddenly regretted running away. At least with Ye Wenxin, she had enough Yin energy to feed off of, without having to worry about anyone.

But now, Ghost Mother had to worry about her own life.

Liu Churan continued to speak, detailing all the various traps she had prepared to capture Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng with. If she fell into Liu Churan’s hands, her entire life would be extinguished.

……

Back in Yangzhou City, Ye Wenxin couldn’t help but shiver again. Perhaps her realization that Liu Churan’s actions were becoming increasingly swift filled her with dread, or she was worried about other matters. Either way, Ye Wenxin struggled to sleep tonight, despite usually being able to fall asleep easily.

She opened the door, and found the number of patrolling cultivators outside was noticeably greater tonight, all to prevent another Yin Fetus invasion. What had started out as a jiangshi attack had now escalated into battles with supernatural entities. If they knew that one person had orchestrated it all, Ye Wenxin couldn’t imagine how much hatred Liu Churan would gain.

But she knew Liu Churan wasn’t afraid of these intangible threats at all. Her foster daughter had always been stubborn—terrifyingly so.

Ye Wenxin sighed, and suddenly sensed movement outside. She opened the window to find Fairy Fengya sitting there, still wearing her usual expressionless face, betraying no change in emotion. Despite that, Ye Wenxin had a feeling that she was here because of what had happened tonight.

“Funny, isn’t it? I played right into the enemy’s hand.”

Although Liu Churan’s ploy wasn’t particularly sophisticated, Ye Wenxin still fell for it. Liu Churan had become brazen, no—she had completely reached a point of being so arrogant, that no one else mattered.

Fairy Fengya remained silent, and seemed to have no intention of answering the question. She didn’t show any inclination to enter, and simply stood quietly by the window. It was like Ye Wenxin had coincidentally opened the window, just as Fairy Fengya was passing by.

Ye Wenxin narrowed her eyes, feeling as if she were preaching to deaf ears. She was about to return to her room when Fairy Fengya finally spoke.

“If you want, I can help you get it back.”

Those few words were more effective than the long string of comfort from Jin Xiaoqin. Ye Wenxin smiled slightly, suddenly thinking that Fairy Fengya’s reticence could be a virtue, and continued, “If she wants to leave, I can’t stop her. I just hope her departure won’t cause carnage throughout the Martial World.”

To put it more bluntly, Ye Wenxin had no faith that Ghost Mother would keep her true identity a secret. She was already prepared to face the storm that Liu Churan would bring. After all, no matter how much she wanted to keep escaping, this matter would ultimately have to come to a conclusion.

She would vehemently reject Liu Churan and then give her a good beating. From then on, they would no longer be mother and daughter, but enemies. Ye Wenxin was contemplating whether to turn herself in, and whether to do it alone or drag someone along as a scapegoat.

A female lead couldn’t possibly torture another female lead to death. Ye Wenxin’s eyes began to dart towards Fairy Fengya, and then she diligently massaged her shoulders. “School Master Fengya, could I ask a favor from you?”

Fairy Fengya remained unmoved, her gaze fixed intently on Ye Wenxin, as if waiting for her explanation.

“Remember the spirit wine I gave you last time? If you help me with a small task, I can give you a few more bottles.”

Since pills, the only bribe she could easily offer, were no longer effective, Ye Wenxin thought of Fairy Fengya’s previous interest in spirit wine. She considered using this as an incentive to get Fairy Fengya doing some hell-raising.
