Release the Female Lead, Leave Her to Me
Release the Female Lead Ch. 478

Chapter 478: Three Spanks for Liu Churan?

Fairy Fengya actually showed more interest and said, “Go on.”

Ye Wenxin’s face lit up with joy as she continued, “It’s not that hard, actually. I have a friend who needs to go collect some wine. All you have to do is accompany her in, and then escort her out.”

Ye Wenxin’s lips curled into a smirk, imagining Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng sharing the stage with Fairy Fengya. This way, Liu Churan would take out any hatred she harbored on Fairy Fengya, the troublesome female lead, instead of innocent people. Ye Wenxin also wouldn’t have to worry about any Immortal Sealing Ring restraining her again, significantly increasing her chances of survival.

If Ghost Mother was smart enough not to inform Liu Churan, then Ye Wenxin could still keep her minor character disguise. As long as she avoided Liu Churan from here on out, no other incidents would occur. With such a plan forming in her mind, Ye Wenxin was filled with anticipation for her pawn, Fairy Fengya.

Fairy Fengya fell silent again. A few seconds later, she nodded. “Alright. Take me to your friend.” Ye Wenxin was pleasantly surprised. Although she didn’t know the extent to which Fairy Fengya had connected her other self to her, it was clear that she had noticed something. If not, Fairy Fengya would never have let her off so easily.

Ye Wenxin decided to turn a blind eye, and act as if she didn’t know her disguise had been exposed. They didn’t have much conflict with each other; Fairy Fengya had a vague concept of right and wrong, indifferent even, which was why Ye Wenxin felt emboldened to make this request.

The two of them discussed it briefly and decided to go today. She couldn’t sleep anyway, and the threat of her cover being blown loomed over her. Ye Wenxin fervently hoped she could survive.

Thus, Ye Wenxin instructed Fairy Fengya to wait at a designated location. She stuffed a furball under the quilt as a decoy, then took out a black outfit suitable for blending into the night.

The black clothes accentuated her fair skin even more, and Ye Wenxin was quite satisfied with her appearance. Suddenly, she sensed a slight movement by the window. At first, she thought it was just a petty thief, but when she looked closely, the head peering in, looking rather sneaky, belonged to none other than Qiao Ni.

Ye Wenxin was about to ask why Qiao Ni had come back again, but as soon as she opened her mouth, she remembered her current guise and had to change her words.

“Who are you?”

The voice startled Qiao Ni, who then hurriedly scanned her surroundings. Fortunately, it was dark out, and the rooms in the inn had similar arrangements. Qiao Ni didn’t realize she had entered the right room, and inadvertently caught a glimpse of Ye Wenxin’s true appearance.

“I’m sorry… sister, I must have gotten the wrong room,” Qiao Ni hurriedly apologized. She was quite clever; if she weren’t, she wouldn’t have survived so long in this ruthless world alongside Madam Yu. Her apology was sincere, but her eyes were staring intently at Ye Wenxin’s face, as if discerning a beauty.

Qiao Ni’s expression was so young and innocent, that Ye Wenxin felt she needed to properly uphold the façade if Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng.

“Am I beautiful?”

“You’re really beautiful, sister, but just a little less than my mother,” Qiao Ni replied, her honesty refreshing, and also somewhat endearing. Ye Wenxin feigned seriousness and pressed, “Oh, is your mother really that beautiful?”

Feeling that Ye Wenxin didn’t believe her, Qiao Ni raised an eyebrow slightly and pointed at her own face. “Look at my face. Can’t you imagine how beautiful my mother must be?”

Ye Wenxin didn’t expect Qiao Ni to be so unabashed, but the reality was indeed as she said. At just thirteen years old, Qiao Ni already looked as exquisite as a porcelain doll. She had the traits of a mixed-race beauty from Earth, with well-defined features. Otherwise, Ye Wenxin, as a visual person, would never have let those bold lips touch her skin.

So, for this reason, Ye Wenxin tolerated her, but hearing Qiao Ni say it herself gave her a subtle feeling. It was like a waiter hyping up a dish, taking away the element of discovery.

“Sister, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way. I have an appointment to get to,” Qiao Ni said politely, sensing that Ye Wenxin wasn’t hard to get along with.

This was technically their first meeting, yet it unfolded so plainly. It left her disappointed, like something was missing.

“Well then, little sister, let me escort you back.”

Qiao Ni’s expression turned to one of horror. She had just been worried about Ye Wenxin sneaking out, but if she were escorted back now, it would still upset Madam Yu, no matter how good her temper was.

Qiao Ni quickly waved her hands, declining Ye Wenxin’s well-intentioned offer.

However, Ye Wenxin feared that Qiao Ni wouldn’t give up on tracking her down, and she was even more worried about exposing Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng. While she was hesitating, Qiao Ni had already slipped out of the window.

Full of energy, she showed no concern for the danger the height posed to a normal person. Yet, in her anxiousness to leave, Qiao Ni’s foot slipped. She almost let out a yelp, but remembered something and desperately stifled the sound.

There was no way Ye Wenxin would just let Qiao Ni get hurt. With a light step, she swiftly scooped Qiao Ni up into her arms.

Qiao Ni thought Ye Wenxin had come to her rescue, and let out a sigh of relief. When she looked up at the stranger’s face, however, she felt an odd sense of familiarity. Although she couldn’t pinpoint where it came from, there was no trace of fear in her heart.

“You little brat. Why didn’t you just safely use the door?” Ye Wenxin sighed, continuing to speak in Gu Qingcheng’s voice.

Worried that her own scent might give away too much, she kept a careful distance after pulling Qiao Ni back up. Qiao Ni’s eyes darted around, clearly plotting how to fool this beautiful sister. She thought for a few seconds, but instead of responding, she suddenly burst into loud sobs.

Ye Wenxin was taken aback by the sudden crying, and anxious that others might overhear them amidst the quiet night. Frustrated, she considered knocking Qiao Ni out. Before she could act, though, Qiao Ni’s sobbing abruptly stopped. There were no tears in her eyes—it was obvious she was just faking it.

Madam Yu surely couldn’t have raised a child this mischievous, Ye Wenxin thought with a sigh. Nonetheless, she patiently listened as Qiao Ni continued to spout her nonsense.
