Chi Yan stared at the message for a while, his hand unconsciously moving to his abdomen.
He clearly remembered the night he and Feng Min slept together. After years abroad, Feng Min had suddenly returned, and Chi Yan, drunk, had spent the night with him.
During those years, nothing like this had ever happened, and Chi Yan had never thought he had any psychological issues that would lead to hallucinations.
The doctor said he was pregnant, and the pregnancy test had shown two red lines.
As absurd as it all seemed, Chi Yan had an unexplainable feeling that it was true. There was indeed a child in his belly.
Chi Yan continued browsing search results and came across a news article about a middle school girl in a small town. She had gone to the hospital with stomach pain, and it was discovered that she had male reproductive organs. After surgery to remove them, the girl had successfully recovered and returned to school.
Chi Yan kept re-reading the news, wondering if his body might be like the girl’s, with two sets of reproductive organs. Otherwise, how could this pregnancy be explained?
While most other information was irrelevant, that one news story gave him some clues. The fact of the pregnancy seemed real. To confirm it again, Chi Yan bought more pregnancy tests from another pharmacy.
The result was the same. Like a woman, he was pregnant with a child.
Standing by the window, Chi Yan tightly gripped his phone. The father of this child could only be one person. It was obvious.
Recently, he had only been with Feng Min.
Looking out into the distance, Chi Yan’s face was eerily calm. He couldn’t keep this child. He had never considered the possibility of having a child and was not mentally prepared for it. He didn’t think he could even take care of pets like cats or dogs, let alone a child.
Chi Yan felt he wouldn’t be a good father. He had never heard of men getting pregnant, and if the child were born, how would he explain to the child that there was no mother, only him? Chi Yan didn’t want the child to face such a difficult situation.
After standing by the window for a long time, Chi Yan decided to buy abortion pills.
He had considered having the surgery done at a hospital, but he didn’t want anyone else to know about his pregnancy. Luckily, he discovered it early enough. A few more months and he would’ve had no choice but to go to the hospital.
Feng Min had no idea that Chi Yan was pregnant with his child and planning to abort it.
Meanwhile, Feng Min had a business trip out of town but kept tabs on Chi Yan, who continued live-streaming video games and frequently played in teams. Chi Yan still didn’t know that one of his teammates was his ex-boyfriend.
When Feng Min asked if Chi Yan was sick, noticing his voice was off, Chi Yan told a small lie.
“Yeah, just a minor illness, nothing serious.”
Chi Yan had reduced his pregnancy to a “small illness.”
Feng Min didn’t doubt it, as Chi Yan didn’t know it was him. Acting like a concerned friend, Feng Min said, “Still, you should go to the hospital. Don’t let a small illness turn into something worse.”
Chi Yan inwardly responded, “If I let this drag on, it could indeed turn into something worse.”
“Yeah, I’ll visit a clinic tomorrow. Thanks.” Chi Yan thanked his gaming buddy for his concern.
On the other end, his teammate’s deep voice replied, “No need.”
There wasn’t much emotion in the words, but Chi Yan could tell that his teammate seemed to be in a good mood.
Another team invited Chi Yan and his squad to a match, and Chi Yan naturally called his teammate along.
Before the game started, Chi Yan privately messaged his teammate: “I have something to take care of in the next few days, so I won’t have much free time. I might not be able to play after my livestreams for a while, but I’ll be back online as soon as I’m done. Wait for me, and don’t team up with anyone else.”
He didn’t mention the abortion, just that he had personal matters to attend to.
After a pause, his teammate responded, “Alright, I’ll wait for you.”
Chi Yan felt that his teammate had a particularly good personality, and from his voice, he guessed he must look pretty good too.
Jokingly, Chi Yan asked if his teammate had a girlfriend since some of his fans were looking for boyfriends.
“I already have someone I like,” the teammate replied, shattering Chi Yan’s matchmaking plans.
Chi Yan was briefly stunned, but then laughed. His laugh reached Feng Min’s ears through the headset.
Staring at his character running ahead of Chi Yan’s in the game, Feng Min’s eyes were filled with suppressed emotion.
“I was going to introduce you to someone, but since that’s the case, I’ll drop it.” Chi Yan quickly ended the topic.
The two entered the game, and there wasn’t much private conversation after that.
Chi Yan, being a streamer, easily chatted and laughed with the other players, while his teammate remained mostly silent. However, wherever Chi Yan went, the teammate followed closely behind.
When the opposing team threw grenades, the teammate jumped in front of Chi Yan to shield him from the blast.
Chi Yan, watching his teammate fall, felt a twinge of emotion.
After the game ended, Chi Yan logged off and walked to the side, holding a cup of water. The smile that had been on his face moments ago disappeared without a trace.
Playing games had allowed Chi Yan to momentarily forget about his situation, but as soon as it ended, the reality came crashing back.
Abortion pills weren’t easy to get. Chi Yan had to pull some strings and ask someone to help him obtain a few.
He carefully read the instructions. Before taking them, a sudden wave of anxiety hit him.
Pouring himself a cup of hot water, Chi Yan held the pills in his palm, staring at them for a moment before putting one in his mouth.
He took a sip of water, preparing to swallow the pill, but suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to vomit.
Unable to hold it back, Chi Yan bent over and threw up into the nearby trash can.
