Release the Female Lead Ch. 494

Chapter 494: Liu Churan’s Breakdown

Wearing that somewhat comical mask, “Gu Qingcheng” stepped out the window.

Fairy Fengya was still sitting in the same spot, as if she had maintained that posture for days without moving.

“Gu Qingcheng” felt rather embarrassed, thinking that Fairy Fengya must’ve heard everything.

The first time, Fairy Fengya had seen her wrestle with Ling Jue. The second time, Fairy Fengya had seen her with Jin Xiaoqin. And, tonight, Fairy Fengya had been present the entire time she was with Madam Yu.

As these things crossed her mind, “Gu Qingcheng” became curious about how Fairy Fengya’s thoughts might have changed.

She flew forward to greet her, “Hello, Fairy.”

Fairy Fengya slowly opened her eyes and gave “Gu Qingcheng” a slight nod. However, she showed no intention of speaking.

“Gu Qingcheng” had long grown accustomed to Fairy Fengya’s indifference. She crouched down in front of her.

“This lord has settled matters. Does the deal my friend discussed with you the other day still hold?”

Fairy Fengya finally stirred upon hearing this, and asked, “Will I still get wine?”

“Gu Qingcheng”, slightly stunned, didn’t expect that what Fairy Fengya cared about most in the end was the wine. She nodded, and only then did Fairy Fengya stand up.

Dressed entirely in white, she looked utterly out of place next to the red-clad “Gu Qingcheng”.

They were like two delicate roses blooming together, one red and one white, each showcasing a different kind of beauty under the moonlight.

Fairy Fengya was cold and pure, while “Gu Qingcheng” was excessively flamboyant.

They gazed at one another, but there were no readable emotions in either’s eyes.

“Gu Qingcheng” glanced up at the sky, and said, “Let’s go.”

She flew a hundred meters ahead. With one light step, Fairy Fengya swiftly caught up, and the two vanished into the moonlit night…

The two moved swiftly through the city, and as “Gu Qingcheng” was familiar with the Wind and Moon Palace’s usual patterns, they quickly found the current headquarters.

It had a similar layout to the last one, but the defensive arrays had been altered.

In the past, “Gu Qingcheng” didn’t know who had set up the arrays for the Wind and Moon Palace. Now, though, she could tell they were Madam Yu’s handiwork. She had crafted not only the palace’s mechanisms and arrays, but even the Immortal Sealing Ring.

Even so, these arrays were of little consequence to “Gu Qingcheng”, Long Qingyue’s disciple. She effortlessly deactivated them and glanced at Fairy Fengya, who remained bare-faced as ever, not bothering to cover her face.

“Gu Qingcheng” reached into her bag of holding and pulled out a spare mask.

“Your features are too distinctive. You should wear this mask.”

The monkey mask she presented was entirely at odds with Fairy Fengya’s graceful and ethereal aura. Fairy Fengya glanced at it, seeming somewhat reluctant to put it on.

“Gu Qingcheng” assumed Fairy Fengya was rejecting the mask because it was too ugly, so she pulled out a pig head mask.

“Or perhaps you’d prefer this one?”

“Gu Qingcheng” pointed to the pig mask, her tone full of ill intent. To her surprise, Fairy Fengya had reached out, her hand brushing against “Gu Qingcheng’s” cheek.

Even with the mask in between, the touch was still perceptible.

In the next moment, Fairy Fengya removed her mask, giving “Gu Qingcheng” a full view of her indifferent expression.

Regardless of her nonchalance, her movements were so graceful that she seemed excessively stunning no matter how you looked at her.

“Gu Qingcheng” felt a brief daze once her mask was off. She glanced at the pig mask and the monkey mask, thought for a second, and eventually chose to put on the pig mask.

Firstly, her main goal was to retrieve the other part of the umbrella sword and reclaim Ghost Mother, who was now useless to Liu Churan.

Secondly, “Gu Qingcheng” still didn’t want to have a major conflict with Liu Churan. She bore no grudge against her, and there was no need to create a situation where they would never speak again.

If possible, she only wished for them to treat each other with mutual respect, like any typical elder and junior.

A small part of “Gu Qingcheng” still held on to that hope, but it crumbled to dust as soon as she arrived.

Liu Churan stood in the lavish palace hall. She wore a sheer purple dress, holding a long whip, with a gloomy expression. In front of her was a young lady.

She had delicate and pretty features that bore a slight resemblance to “Gu Qingcheng”, and wore a bright red outfit, almost as if she were cosplaying as Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng herself.

Liu Churan seemed to have used her Charm to control this girl, before she lashed her with a newly-acquired whip.

It was a large S&M scene, with Liu Churan playing the dominant, aggressive role. As soon as one girl fainted, another girl was brought in.

“Gu Qingcheng” stood there, gaping at the scene. She reassessed Liu Churan’s luck—it was a golden skeleton, yet Liu Churan now exuded the unmistakable air of a villain.

“Hehehe…” Liu Churan laughed sinisterly, her eyes burning with barely contained fury.

Seeing this, “Gu Qingcheng” couldn’t help but tremble slightly. She had always felt that Liu Churan’s obsessions ran too deep.

Liu Churan longed to restore the Wind and Moon Palace to its former glory, and she had suffered much before meeting “Gu Qingcheng”. Even after they met, Liu Churan’s days hadn’t improved. In fact, they had only gotten harder.

But “Gu Qingcheng” had only recovered her memories regarding the Yin Pearl, not about how Liu Churan had spent most of her life caring for her. Now that she witnessed Liu Churan’s completely broken state and the look on her face, “Gu Qingcheng” suddenly felt a pang of regret for having run away just like that.

Liu Churan had likely developed an inner demon, which put her in a dangerous mental state.

“Gu Qingcheng” watched quietly, listening in the darkness as those women let out cries that seemed to blur between pain and pleasure.

Glancing over, she noticed that even Ghost Mother, whom she had planned to rescue, was watching Liu Churan with wide eyes. Yet, that gaze held a glimmer of interest. “Gu Qingcheng” suddenly reconsidered saving her, fearing their future plays would take a disturbing turn.

Be that as it may, “Gu Qingcheng’s” doused flames reignited. She glanced at Fairy Fengya, who had accompanied her, only to find the same indifferent expression on her face. She was unaffected by the scene of depravity in front of them.

Compared to Fairy Fengya, “Gu Qingcheng” realized her reactions were far too weak.

She pushed down the distracting thoughts, and focused on observing Liu Churan’s behavior, calculating the best moment to act.

However, Liu Churan seemed to have boundless energy. One girl after another fainted. She never made physical contact with any of them. She just vented her frustrations while muttering to herself.
