The Villain’s Family Favorite Little Sweetheart Chapter 209: Are You Here to Spy on Yuanyuan?

Gu Beiyan gritted his teeth in frustration. How could he forgot… boys and girls sleep in separate rooms!

Ugh, that means two whole hours without seeing adorable Yuanyuan!

In a state of utter defeat, Gu Beiyan watched helplessly as Yu Yuanyuan and Chu Qi entered the neighboring room. Sullen and dejected, he dragged himself to his bed, threw off his jacket, and flopped down, feeling like all hope was lost.

Before long, the soft, rhythmic sounds of snoring filled the room, but Gu Beiyan couldn’t sleep. He turned to face the wall, his mind wandering aimlessly.

Click.

In the quiet room, where only the sounds of breathing could be heard, a small, unusual noise broke the silence.

Without making a sound, Gu Beiyan shifted under his blanket and peeked around. To his surprise, he saw Wen Zifei, who had been sleeping diagonally across from him, sneaking out—without even putting on his shoes.

Bathroom?

No, that couldn’t be it. There was a bathroom in the resting room, so why would he leave?

As Wen Zifei opened the door, Gu Beiyan quickly slipped out of bed and followed him, his curiosity piqued.

Wen Zifei’s sneaky behavior looked incredibly suspicious. He’s definitely up to no good! Gu Beiyan thought, keeping his distance while shadowing him.

Sure enough, instead of heading outside, Wen Zifei made his way toward the girls’ resting room.

The door wasn’t locked, so he quietly pushed it open just enough to slip inside. Worried about making noise, he left the door ajar and crept down the aisle between the beds, peeking at each one as if searching for someone.

Gu Beiyan squeezed through the door crack and, after observing for a moment, realized Wen Zifei’s plan.

He’s here to find Yuanyuan!

Just as expected, Wen Zifei stopped at a particularly messy bed with a mischievous grin on his face.

Gu Beiyan craned his neck to take a look, and of course, it was Yu Yuanyuan’s bed.

The little munchkin, having eaten to her heart’s content, had fallen into a deep sleep, sprawled out like a little kitten in the middle of a stretch. Her arms and legs pointed in all different directions, and her long eyelashes cast shadows over her cheeks. Her hair spread out across the pillow like seaweed floating in water.

Her sleeping posture may have been all over the place, but to Gu Beiyan, it was the cutest thing in the world. His heart thumped wildly, feeling as though it might burst from how adorable she looked.

Wen Zifei’s eyes, however, were cold and icy, like a layer of frost. He raised his hand, but before he could do anything, Gu Beiyan yelled, “What are you doing, you sneaky mosquito?!”

His sudden outburst startled all the children, waking many of them, and it immediately caught the attention of Ms. Su.

Seeing Wen Zifei standing by Yu Yuanyuan’s bed, Ms. Su felt a headache coming on. “Wen Zifei, what are you doing here?” she asked, her voice laced with frustration.

Wen Zifei stammered, “I-I-I… I came into the wrong room by mistake.” He hastily hid his hand behind his back.

“Oh, really?” Gu Beiyan marched up, brimming with righteous indignation. “I know why you’re here—you were spying on Yuanyuan!”

Wen Zifei: “…?”

Please stop projecting your own weird thoughts onto me!

“That’s nonsense! What about you? Why are you here?” Wen Zifei shot back, trying to turn the tables.

Gu Beiyan stood his ground. “I followed you in here to stop you from doing anything bad!”

As Wen Zifei tried to move towards the door, Gu Beiyan blocked his way, refusing to let him leave. The two boys jostled and bickered, while Ms. Su, prepared to get up and intervene.

Suddenly, Wen Zifei let out a sharp, ear-piercing scream: “Aahhh!”

The scream was so blood-curdling that even Gu Beiyan jumped back in shock. “Why are you screaming? I didn’t even hit you!” he exclaimed.

Wen Zifei’s face flushed bright red, his expression twisted in pain. Trembling, he raised his right arm to reveal something clenched in his hand.
