The Secret Behind the Veil Chapter 30

Chapter 30: “Tang Zhishu’s Lips Were Bitten”

In the room, Fu Yushen and Lu Zilin lay asleep on two white beds.

In the darkness, a pair of bright, sparkling fox-like eyes locked onto the bed near the window on the left.

Just as she was about to head toward Fu Yushen, a tall, dark figure suddenly jumped in through the window.

The girl immediately sensed the presence of the newcomer, especially the overwhelming and chilling aura he radiated. Her eyes instantly sparked with dangerous killing intent.

In that moment, Tang Zhishu tightly clenched her fists and struck behind her.

Although her fists were small and delicate, their power was not to be underestimated.

As her fists sliced through the air, they seemed to carry a strong airflow, filled with a deadly coldness, striking swiftly.

But before Tang Zhishu could hit the person behind her, he caught her with his warm hand, pulling her into his slightly cool embrace.

At that moment, as Tang Zhishu was forcibly held, she suddenly caught a whiff of a familiar, uniquely masculine, refreshing scent.

Looking up, she saw Yan Kui’s incredibly beautiful face.

Tang Zhishu tried to struggle free, but Yan Kui’s long, strong arms held her firmly.

She glared up at him, her alluring eyes filled with anger.

“Let go of me.”

Tang Zhishu silently mouthed the words to him.

Yan Kui’s handsome face was terrifyingly cold. His dark, emotionless eyes fixed on the girl in his arms. He leaned closer, his cool lips brushing her ear as he said in a low, husky voice, “Come back with me.”

Thinking of her purpose for being there, Tang Zhishu angrily whispered, just loud enough for the two of them to hear, “No, let go of me.”

After saying this, she glanced towards Fu Yushen.

She was afraid of waking him.

Seeing her glance at another man, Yan Kui felt a surge of anger and bitterness, recalling how she had frequently looked at Fu Yushen during the day.

“You came here for him?” Yan Kui’s dark, icy gaze locked onto her, a chilling aura surrounding him.

Tang Zhishu glared at him. Though she was confused by his anger, he had disrupted her plans.

Feeling a surge of frustration, she coldly looked at him. “Yes, I came here for him. So let me go and stop getting in my way.”

Hearing her indifferent words, for the first time in a years, Yan Kui lost control of his emotions. His gloomy, handsome face twisted into a sinister smile, his voice dripping with danger.

“Am I getting in your way? Are you so eager to find another man?”

Tang Zhishu found him utterly baffling. Why did it seem like he was accusing her of abandoning him?

She frowned. “Since you know I’m in a hurry, then let me go.”

If this went on, Fu Yushen might wake up, and she would have to wait for the next opportunity to get what she wanted.

Upon hearing her words, Yan Kui could no longer suppress the dark and violent emotions building inside him.

Ignoring Tang Zhishu’s struggles, he threw her over his shoulder and marched toward the door.

Tang Zhishu’s expression turned to one of shock as she clung to his back, but his strong muscles were unyielding.

Yan Kui opened the door and stepped outside.

He “kindly” slammed the door shut, making a loud noise.

With a “bang,” Lu Zilin was startled awake, sitting up in a panic.

He quickly looked over at Fu Yushen, who was peacefully sleeping on the other bed, seemingly unaffected by the noise.

Lu Zilin glanced around the dark room, gulped in fear, and quickly lay back down under the covers.

As he settled back down, Fu Yushen, who had been sleeping with his eyes closed, suddenly opened them.

His light amber eyes glinted with a strange, quiet intensity.

Tang Zhishu was carried back to Yan Kui’s room.

“Yan Kui, you bastard! I’m going to kill you!”

Tang Zhishu was furious. She had almost gotten Fu Yushen’s hair, but he had ruined her plans.

Thinking of this made her blood boil.

Yan Kui tossed the girl, who was hitting him on the back, onto the soft bed.

In the next moment, his tall frame loomed over her.

“Tang Zhishu, do you really think you can sleep with me and just walk away?” Yan Kui’s cold gaze bore down on her, his expression dark and menacing.

The more Tang Zhishu thought about it, the angrier she became, so she didn’t even have the energy to ponder his words.

She raised her fists and started pounding his solid chest, fuming, “Bastard! I’m going to beat you up for ruining my plans! Damn you, Yan Kui! I curse you to be impotent for life—ugh…”

Tang Zhishu’s lips were bitten by Yan Kui.

She stared wide-eyed in shock.

In the next moment, a sharp pain shot through her lips.

“Ugh…” Tang Zhishu frantically pounded on his arm.

Tears filled her captivating eyes.

Ouch, it hurt so much!

Yan Kui’s dark, brooding eyes gazed at the girl beneath him. Only when he saw the tears welling up in her eyes did he finally release her.

In the next instant, his cool lips tenderly brushed against her wounded, soft lips.

As he gently tasted her lips, which were now bleeding, Tang Zhishu, who was on the brink of anger, suddenly froze.

Her tear-filled eyes stared blankly at the pitch-black ceiling.

Her heart seemed to race.

Yan Kui’s sensual lips delicately traced Tang Zhishu’s, licking the blood from her bitten lips.

In that moment, they both tasted the metallic flavor of blood.

Yet, for both of them, this kiss was laced with sweetness.

Time seemed to stretch as Yan Kui finally pulled away from her lips, his dark eyes quietly watching her.

Tang Zhishu felt her cheeks heat up and her throat dry.

“Promise me you won’t go looking for him again,” he said in a low, hoarse voice.

Tang Zhishu blinked her moist eyes and replied, “No, I really have something important to do.”

Yan Kui frowned, staring at her. “What’s so important? Tell me.”
