“Stop it, that’s creepy. And you don’t have to apologize, there’s no reason for it. Actually, I’m grateful that you got me involved. If Jin hadn’t reached out to us, we would have been caught off guard on April 1st and faced a gruesome end or turned into Modokis. Those were the only two options. “
She drops her hands and starts imitating a zombie.
“I mean, haven’t you ever fantasized about entering a game world? I would have preferred a dating sim or something. Where hot guys would be fighting over me…hehehe.”
Her demeanor doesn’t seem like she’s forcing herself to act tough. She appears to be genuinely enjoying herself.
Diya sounds strong even in this situation, full of life and without a hint of depression. I am grateful that I was able to confide with her.
“The only thing that disappoints me is that I can’t share our work with the world! I’m sure it would’ve gone viral! I wanted to see the viewers’ reactions!”
She lowers her waist and raises her face to the sky, shouting with all her might.
She’s a born video streamer.
“Wouldn’t it be great if someday this commotion died down? Then I could do more collaboration streams with you, big sis!”
For the first time today, a shadow appears in her smile.
“Yeah, that’d be nice…I hope that day comes.”
“But seriously, big sis being a content creator in this world was even more surprising than the zombie crisis. That confession was probably the biggest shock of my life.”
The surprise seems to be greater on that side.
“Was it also kept a secret from Jin?”
“Yeah. I was surprised too. I knew she was doing something in the basement late at night, but I never thought it would be that.”
I had heard about Nunu Gensei’s existence from Diya before. It came up in conversation occasionally, as she mentioned being into it lately. I didn’t know what she looked like, so out of curiosity, I watched one of her videos once.
To be honest, my honest reaction was… Who are you?
A woman with a ponytail wearing a transparent veil. Her hair was a purplish color, like the skin of a sweet potato.
Her narrow eyes and blood-red lips exuded an adult, bewitching allure. She spoke crisply and her voice was altered, devoid of any resemblance to my sister’s tone and demeanor!
She wore revealing attire that exposed her ample cleavage, which I tactfully refrained from commenting on, but I couldn’t help but notice that she was much more endowed than my sister.
“Wasn’t she famous as a fortune-telling character?”
“Yes, exactly! she always did at least one fortune-telling session during each livestream, and they were always spot-on. I used to find it strange, but now… well, you know.”
“I know that she was disappointed when I found out that she had been using my precognitive dreams for her streams. Speaking of streams…”
“That time, you saved my life, right? You and her fans came to my aid.”
“Yes, you should be grateful for that.”
She puffs up her chest too much, causing her upper body to lean back. I really appreciate what she did, so I’ll show my gratitude by bowing my head.
“But you know, that was really your sister’s achievement, not mine. She has way more fans than I do.”
Indeed, the on-site distribution was about 2 for Diya and 8 for my sister.
However, the enthusiastic fans who were eating aggressively towards the villagers were on Diya’s side.
You could also say that there were passionate and troublesome fans.
“Did you inform the listeners about the zombie crisis?”
“Yes I Did”
“Well, my sister has been using her temporary appearance to give a rough idea. She has been telling people that there is a major disaster coming and that they should stock up on food and daily necessities, and not go out on April 1st under any circumstances.”
“After the information was released, on the very next day, I posted on the internet that Older Sis was saying that something was going to happen on April 1st. There were also some casual streaming conversations like ‘What if it’s zombies?’ Older sister and I have also uploaded videos recommending disaster goods and long-lasting food products, and it seems that related products are selling quite well.”
Even if she were to tell the truth to her fans, only a small portion of them would truly believe her. The story is just too outrageous that most people think it’s just a movie collaboration or some kind of promotion.
To make people believe completely, there needs to be definitive proof. With less than a week left until that day, there is not enough time to fully convince people of a zombie panic without additional evidence.
The actions of the two are a desperate measure, but it’s better than doing nothing.
Besides, what I saw in my precognitive dream was the chaotic situation on April 1st. Future has foretold that it’s impossible to penetrate throughout Japan and bring order, no matter what we do.
However, what will happen after April 1st is uncertain.
Will it be the end of the world or will it be resolved?
If the latter is the case, there is a prospect of survival if we can endure for a certain period of time. The actions of Diya and her group are by no means a waste.
I wanted to save my sister, but now I also want to save Diya, Jinguichi, and Hinoyama.
Therefore, instead of imposing my own ideas, I want to respect everyone’s feelings.
Jinguichi’s top priority is to save Iwaro-san. Therefore, he hasn’t told anyone about Modoki.
Hinoyama seems to owe something to Jinguichi and said he will follow his thoughts.
I was interested in the situation around them, so I asked Diya.
“She ran away from home and was about to be forced into illegal and dangerous work by some dangerous people, but my uncle saved her. Since then, she’s been close to him,” Diya explained with a sly smile. “But I think there’s more to it than that.”
Although intrigued, I chose not to delve deeper into the matter. If my sister were there, she would have been very curious to hear more.
“Let’s just focus on the defense battle on the 29th for now. We can deal with the rest later.”
“Yeah, you’re right. Let’s just try to survive first.”
We had talked for quite a while. We needed to regain our focus and catch up on our work. Moving our bodies would help us avoid thinking about unnecessary things.
We worked right up to the limit even after the sun had set, but since food is the source of our energy for tomorrow, we all pitched in to cook and feasted together before dispersing to our assigned rooms.
I wanted to take a relaxing bath, so I waited until after dinner to soak in the tub by myself. Everyone else had taken a quick bath before eating.
“I wonder if everyone else has already gone to sleep,” I thought.
Diya is sleeping in the car that was moved to the garden. Since it is no longer safe outside, the garden will serve as a parking lot from now on.
Jinguichi is in my parents’ former bedroom, which has turned into a storage room. Hinoyama said she could stay in the same room, but due to various issues, they had to stay separately. She reluctantly agreed to stay in the guest room.
As for my sister, she’s probably in her room on her computer. The internet will not be available in a few days, so she’s enjoying it while she can.
Although the current situation is completely different from the initial plan, I don’t feel bad. In fact, I feel lighter. I feel like the burden on my heart has decreased significantly.
“I need to thank everyone.”
