Bigamy Life is a Bit Sweet
Bigamy Life is a Bit Sweet Chapter 2.2

“Mom?” Yang Yang only noticed her then, staring blankly for a moment, his red lips moving as if he didn’t know what to say. Then his gaze turned to the table full of delicious food. “Did Mom make all this?”

“Yes, Mom made it.”

Yang Yang was even more stunned, his big eyes wide open, as if his little brain couldn’t process this unbelievable information.

Mom made breakfast for him?

“Yang Yang, look, this is specially made for you by Mom.” Cheng Yu pointed to a plastic plate on the table. The plate held a piece of perfectly toasted bread with a smiling bear face drawn with jam, small sausages cut into the shape of an octopus, and various fruit pieces and scrambled eggs arranged to form the shape of a robot.

Yang Yang was amazed.

Du Lingyun was also amazed.

Father and son both had their mouths slightly open, their similar faces showing a kind of silly expression, which made Cheng Yu feel a warmth in her heart, and she let out a soft laugh.

“Yang Yang, sit down and eat, okay? Tell Mom what you like to eat, and Mom will make it for you in the future.” Cheng Yu softened her voice to coax the child, feeling for a moment like a witch in the forest luring a child.

Yang Yang seemed to be swayed by her, his eyes showing a hint of excitement, but he didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he looked at his father for help.

It wasn’t until Du Lingyun nodded affirmatively at him that the child’s face finally broke into a genuinely happy smile.

“Yes, I want to eat! Yang Yang wants to eat Mom’s breakfast!”

Cheng Yu brought over the child’s chair, and Du Lingyun placed his son on the chair. Yang Yang sat obediently, picking up his special children’s utensils.

He held the fork over the plate for a long time, not knowing where to start.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Cheng Yu sat across from him, looking at him tenderly.

Yang Yang pouted. “This robot is too cute, I can’t bear to eat it. The little octopus is also very cute.”

“Be good, Mom will make even cuter ones in the future, every day. You eat them first, you can’t be picky!”

“Yes, Yang Yang won’t be picky, Yang Yang will be good.” The child promised seriously, hesitated for a few more seconds, then carefully started eating with his fork, taking a bite and then looking up at his father and mother with a sweet smile. “It’s so delicious! Dad, Mom’s breakfast is delicious.”

“If it’s delicious, eat more.” Du Lingyun patted his son’s head, looking at the table full of dishes, and found himself in the same predicament as his son, not knowing where to start.

“Do you like congee?” Cheng Yu asked softly.

He nodded.

“I found pork bones in the freezer, and this congee is made with pork bone broth, with chicken strips and egg flowers added.” She explained, her tone slightly proud.

He looked at her meaningfully, tasted the congee, and then tried a few other dishes, finding each one delicious. The congee was especially well-cooked, warming his insides with every bite.

So his wife really could cook, but why had she never done so before?

Du Lingyun suddenly lost his appetite. Watching his wife lovingly watch their son eat, occasionally wiping his mouth with a napkin, and even when the child spilled food on the table, she didn’t get angry, but continued to smile gently, praising Yang Yang for being smart and encouraging him to eat by himself.

Could losing one’s memory really change a person’s personality so much?

Du Lingyun frowned slightly, his sharp gaze subtly observing his wife, trying to find traces of her former self in her, but found that everything, from her words and actions to her subtle expressions, was completely different.

What was going on here?

Seeing Du Lingyun’s expression, Cheng Yu knew that she might have been too enthusiastic, and her behavior, so different from his wife’s, had aroused his suspicion.

But even so, she didn’t want to hold back.

She hoped to integrate into this family as soon as possible. She didn’t want to be the selfish Jian Lanxi who abandoned her husband and child. She wanted to be a part of this family.

After breakfast, Du Lingyun prepared to go to work and took his son to the nanny’s house on the way.

Yang Yang waved goodbye to his mother. “Goodbye, Mom, Yang Yang is leaving.”

The child showed no sign of reluctance, already used to spending the day away from home with the nanny.

Instead, Cheng Yu felt a pang in her heart seeing his cheerful expression. It seemed this child did not miss his mother.

“I’ll try to finish work early today and pick up Yang Yang on the way home.” Before leaving, Du Lingyun gave instructions.

“Okay.” Cheng Yu nodded gently, sending off the father and son, and stood there in a daze for a moment.

But she didn’t let herself be idle for too long and quickly got to work. Although Du Lingyun mentioned that they had a part-time housekeeper to clean the house regularly, she decided to thoroughly clean the entire house.

She took down the curtains to wash, carried the bedding to the rooftop to air out, scrubbed the bathroom clean, and even cleaned the gaps between the wall tiles.

Yang Yang’s room, Du Lingyun’s study, and the master bedroom were all organized, with every item categorized and neatly placed. The furniture was dusted until it shone, and the floors were polished to a gleam.

She worked diligently, only stopping occasionally to catch her breath. She kept her body in a state of constant motion, only then could her mind be completely empty, not thinking about anything related to Cheng Yu or Deng Ruofan.

All of that was no longer her concern. She was now Jian Lanxi, a mother with a child…
