Chapter 6: No, I Hate Her!
Lu Cichuan glanced at the clock on his computer—1:35. He had already instructed Yi Han to track Sang Yuwan’s movements. Her flight at 2:00 PM was headed to Erhai Lake.
He sped through the streets, and by 1:50, he and his entourage had intercepted her.
“Sang Yuwan, give me the ashes.”
“In your dreams, Mr. Lu! she doesn’t want to see you!” Sang Yuwan clung to Li Mo’s urn, terrified he might snatch it away.
Seeing her defiance, Lu Cichuan gestured to his bodyguards. They restrained her and forcefully took the urn. Just as he was about to touch it, Sang Yuwan’s words cut through the tension.
“She’s already dead! What’s the point of pretending to care now? What good is your love for her now?”
He froze. He truly did love her… but the image of his sister flashed before his eyes, and he didn’t touch the urn. Instead, he spoke coldly, “No, I hate her! Isn’t she dead now? Spreading her ashes would be quite satisfying…”
With that, he signaled for his men to take Sang Yuwan away. “Before she died, Li Mo said she wanted to go to Erhai.”
“If I’m feeling merciful, I’ll scatter her ashes there,” he added with indifference.
“She didn’t want to see you! You disgust her!” Sang Yuwan screamed back.
The airport announcement urged passengers bound for Erhai to board. The plane was about to take off.
“She wanted to go to Erhai!” Sang Yuwan’s shout startled him into clarity.
In the end, he let Sang Yuwan go, along with that accursed urn. He then ordered Yi Han to bring Zhou Yanwan back from Erhai.
Zhou Yanwan was confused on the flight back. What had happened? She had orchestrated everything flawlessly. There was no way she could have been found out.
Back at the villa, Lu Cichuan stared at the familliar room—this was where Li Mo had been violated. But now, it had been meticulously cleaned, leaving no trace of what had occurred.
Every room in the villa, except Aunt Chen’s, had hidden cameras—ones he had installed himself. He wanted to know everything Li Mo did at home. Li Mo had once shyly teased him, calling him a pervert. He had laughed and replied, “Yes, yes. Who could blame me when you’re so beautiful? I can’t take my eyes off you.”
After what had happened to his sister, he hadn’t looked at the footage again. When he had Yi Han search for it earlier, it was because he was too afraid to check it himself—afraid of what he might find.
Yi Han had reported that Xu He had disappeared, and the six thugs were caught. They all testified that Xu He had brought them there.
Lu Cichuan had shown no mercy to those men, torturing them with every cruelty imaginable before their bodies were thrown into the mountains to feed the wild beasts.
When Zhou Yanwan disembarked, she didn’t see Lu Cichuan waiting for her. She was displeased and increasingly anxious.
Lu Cichuan had arranged for her to stay in a hotel, but he ignored all her calls. Agitated and restless, he drove to the hospital to visit his sister.
The VIP floor was much quieter than the chaotic sounds of crying children and patients’ pained groans in the main areas.
As soon as he saw his sister lying in bed, his heart ached. His pain stemmed from Li Mo, who had caused his sister like that. He was angry that Li Mo had borne another man’s child. But most of all, he was tormented by the fact that she was dead…
He loved her deeply. He still remembered when Li Mo had first become pregnant. He had been so overjoyed that he stayed awake the entire night, showering her with kisses. But it was all for nothing—when they discovered after three months that the baby had stopped developing, they had no choice but to terminate the pregnancy.
“Jiejie… she’s dead… I feel like I’ve lost everything.”
On one hand, he believed Li Mo deserved to die. She had harmed the only family he had left in the world. She truly deserved it. But… they had been in love. He had loved Li Mo. Now that she was gone, it felt as though a part of him had died too. All that remained was a hollow shell, sustained by the belief that she had to die.
“I’m so tired, Jiejie… please wake up soon…”
Unbeknownst to him, in a hidden part of the room, Lu Sheng’s finger twitched slightly.
