Chapter 113: Only I Am Heartbroken
Wuze led Fei Li and Aola to Simi’s house.
Transforming the large stones into grinding plates took a considerable amount of effort.
In order to give Fei Li a satisfactory result, Wuze specifically asked Simi to take everyone in making the grinding plates.
When the busy crowd saw Wuze and Fei Li arrive, they all paused their work and respectfully stood up.
“Lord Wuze, Lord Fei Li.”
Fei Li smiled at everyone, saying, “Thank you all for your hard work.”
“It’s nothing, we are very willing to contribute our strength to the tribe,” Simi said, having a good impression of Fei Li and cooperating with his work.
As he spoke, Simi and a few others wiped the sweat from their foreheads.
Fei Li noticed their actions and felt grateful in his heart.
The stones used for making the grinding plates were too large to fit inside the house, so they had to find an open space in the tribe.
Everyone was working under the blazing sun.
Thinking of this, Fei Li gave everyone a deep bow. “I see the contributions you’ve made to the tribe, Luo Sang sees it too, and everyone in the tribe appreciates you.”
Simi waved his hand, quickly speaking up, “Lord Fei Li, you don’t have to say that, contributing to the tribe is just what we should do.”
Fei Li shook his head, rejecting Simi’s view.
“No, while you are part of the tribe, you are also independent individuals. No one is obligated to give it to anyone else.”
Hearing this, the orcs on-site were taken aback, their expressions complex as they looked at him.
Having faced considerable exclusion since coming to this tribe, it was surprising to hear a word of recognition today.
“Lord Fei Li, don’t worry, we will definitely make the grinding stone well.”
He stepped forward and patted Simi on the shoulder, then turned to Wuze, “Come with me to my house, I have some things for you.”
Wuze and Aola exchanged a glance, but before they could ask what it was, Fei Li had already taken a step forward.
The two hurriedly followed him.
Arriving at Fei Li’s house, he cut the green fruit and green melon he had brought back from the mountain into pieces and placed them in a stone bowl.
After getting some ice to chill the fruit, he handed the stone bowl to Wuze.
“You all worked hard on the grinding stone, take this bowl of fruit back and share it with everyone!”
Wuze replied, “This…,” hesitating because, in a food-scarce primitive society, food was uniformly distributed within the tribe.
With so little food at home, no one was willing to share with others.
Looking at the mouth-watering fruit, Wuze didn’t dare to take it.
Fei Li seemed to see Wuze’s thoughts. “This is a reward from Luo Sang to everyone.”
“Lord Luo Sang? He also agreed to share this food with us?” Wuze said, slightly surprised. He nodded.
Not wanting to refuse anymore, Wuze happily left the house holding the stone bowl.
Watching the two walk away, Fei Li thought it was time to go back up the mountain to pick more fruit.
Thinking of the fruit, he remembered Su Li.
After hesitating for a moment, he decided to find Su Li to go up the mountain together since it was Su Li’s territory.
Wuze held the stone bowl, moving quickly on his feet.
Aola jogged to catch up with him.
Wuze was focused solely on getting the food back quickly to share with everyone.
Completely ignoring Aola behind him, he sped up even more.
After walking a considerable distance, Wuze suddenly stopped and looked back, only to find no one behind him.
Where’s Aola?
He put down the stone bowl and turned back to look for Aola.
Seeing Aola standing in place, he quickly stepped forward, “Little short legs, can’t keep up with me, huh?”
Aola: “……” You’re the little short legs, your whole family is made of little short legs.
He had seen those who were stubborn, but he had never seen anyone so stubborn.
Rolling his eyes at him, Aola turned his back, not intending to respond.
Wuze simply picked up Aola and continued to walk forward with him.
“Put me down! What are you doing?” Aola protested, kicking his little legs in dissatisfaction.
Ignoring Aola’s displeasure, Wuze continued to move quickly, “If you can’t walk, I’ll carry you.”
“I have my own legs, I can walk by myself.”
Wuze paid no attention to Aola’s words and continued to carry him forward.
When they reached the spot to set down the stone bowl, he finally let Aola down and then picked up the stone bowl.
“Let’s go! This time I’ll walk slower.”
Aola: “Who cares? You go ahead, I can’t help with anything anyway. I’ll just head back home!” With that, Aola stepped in the opposite direction.
Just as he took a step, Wuze pulled him back.
“Aola, be my partner?”
Fei Li and Su Li returned to the small forest where Su Li had always lived.
Last time, Fei Li had come in a hurry and hadn’t had time to see where Su Li lived.
This time, upon seeing it, Fei Li was speechless in shock.
The small wooden cabin in front of him was surrounded by lush vines, with red flowers dotting the green leaves, giving it an indescribably enchanting vibe. Surrounding the cabin were various vegetables and fruits planted by Su Li, clearly indicating that Su Li had been living quite comfortably here.
“What’s up? Do you like it here?”
Suppressing his amazement, Fei Li turned to look at Su Li, “Are you really a botanist? Why do I feel like you know so many things?”
Su Li shot him a glance and sat down on the wooden bench, casually crossing his legs.
“Aren’t you also good at many things?”
“I learned from my grandma’s house when I was little, that’s why I know. What about you?” Fei Li always felt that Su Li was hiding some secrets.
Su Li smiled, and there was a hint of something different in his eyes.
—Where did I learn this from?
—Perhaps it was long ago when someone whispered in my ear.
—Curious about that person’s experiences, I specifically looked into these things.
—Naturally, I learned them.
“There’s someone very important, he’s the one who taught me these things,” Su Li said, his tone tinged with sadness.
He glanced around at everything, then turned his gaze back to Su Li.
“Then when you came here, wouldn’t that person be very sad?” Su Li shook his head, “No, the only one who is sad is me.”
Fei Li listened, feeling confused, but seeing the pained expression on Su Li’s face, he didn’t press further.
Before heading up the mountain, he had specifically brought a bamboo basket from the tribe.
Now, carrying the bamboo basket, he began to pick various fresh fruits that Su Li had planted.
He only stopped when he had filled the basket to the brim.
Suddenly, Su Li approached him, looking straight at him, “Fei Li, my little house is the best place to return to the modern world through the Seven Stars.”
“Ever since I learned that the Seven Stars can return to the modern world, I’ve been searching for this place, and I finally found it.”
“Have you thought it through? Do you want to go back?”
Fei Li glanced at the little house and shook his head without a second thought.
What would he go back for?
In the modern world, he had no family or friends, but here he had his beloved Luo Sang.
How could he bear to go back?
Su Li suddenly clenched his hands tightly, “Are you sure you don’t want to go back?”
“Absolutely.”
“If staying here would bring harm to Luo Sang, would you still want to stay?”
Su Li continued to press.
Fei Li frowned, “I would harm Luo Sang?”
With a deep sigh, Su Li began to reveal everything he knew without reservation.
It turned out that Fei Li had come to this world with the mission to transform it.
He could do anything except get involved in love.
Once he fell in love with someone, or someone fell in love with him, he would bring continuous harm to the person he loved. This was the reason Luo Sang had been frequently injured since meeting him.
After listening, Fei Li was left speechless for a long time.
His brows furrowed tightly, shaking his head repeatedly, “Impossible! How could this be?”
“Don’t you believe it? Think carefully, since Luo Sang has been with you, hasn’t there been a series of accidents?”
Su Li’s words were like a thunderclap, making Fei Li’s head buzz.
Why is this happening?
“No, I don’t believe it,” Fei Li still refused to accept it.
Su Li sighed and moved a bit closer to him, “If you don’t believe me, you can ask Luo Sang.”
“Luo Sang? He knows about this too?” It can’t be, Su Li must be lying.
Su Li’s gaze was resolute, “Yes!”
“Luo Sang learned it from Elder Su,” Su Li added after a pause. Stumbling back a step, Fei Li lowered his gaze.
At this moment, his emotions were in turmoil.
After two days of travel, Luo Sang and the others were already exhausted.
Everyone followed closely behind Luo Sang, clearly unable to keep up with his pace, struggling to push on.
Mao Li couldn’t watch any longer and hurriedly caught up with him, “Lord Luo Sang, we…”
Hearing this, Luo Sang finally stopped and turned to look at everyone.
Their lips were chapped, and their skin was sunburned, looking utterly exhausted.
Luo Sang’s gaze swept over everyone, and they instinctively averted their eyes, not daring to meet his gaze.
Along the way, Luo Sang sniffed for animal scents and observed their tracks.
Everyone dared not disturb him or distract him.
Even when they were thirsty, hungry, or tired, they didn’t show it.
“I’m sorry, Lord Luo Sang, we really can’t go on. It’s too hot, and we’re too thirsty.” With that, Mao Li lowered his head. Luo Sang felt guilty looking at everyone, blaming himself for not paying attention.
But as the leader, he couldn’t apologize to them.
“Rest!”
He coldly uttered those two words and took a few steps forward.
The further he walked, the hotter it became, and he seemed to see heat rising from the ground ahead.
In such conditions, no one could continue walking.
Moreover, everyone was too exhausted to move any further.
He looked around and noticed a massive tree not far away that caught his attention.
Because he often went hunting, Fei Li had told him a lot about wilderness survival knowledge.
In a water shortage situation, they could seek out water sources in various ways.
Thinking of this, he unconsciously walked towards the big tree.
Circling around it, he took out his stone knife and peeled back some of the tree bark.
As soon as he peeled a bit, clear water began to flow down the trunk.
He caught a little in his hand, sniffed it, and then pretended to taste it.
Just as it was about to reach his lips, Mao Li stopped him, “Lord Luo Sang, let me drink first.”
As soon as he said that, Mao Li nearly snatched the water from Luo Sang’s hand and drank it all down.
Wiping the water stains from his mouth, Mao Li smiled at him, “So refreshing! I haven’t had such good water in a long time. The taste is like…” Mao Li frowned, seemingly savoring the flavor of the water.
