A curious child asked, “Yuanyuan, can you really understand what the cat is saying?”
“Yes!” The little one nodded confidently.
The teacher and the security guard didn’t take it seriously. Kids often have wild imaginations, so it wasn’t surprising for them to think they could understand cat language.
As the security guard ripped open the package, he didn’t even have time to break the sausage in half before the large ginger cat came up and devoured it in no time.
Just like the previous night with Dahua, the cat ate hungrily, as if it hadn’t eaten in ages.
It quickly inhaled the sausage, finishing it in no time. The security guard also brought out a bowl of water, and a group of curious children gathered around to watch the cat eat and drink.
Once the cat was full, it rolled onto its side, lying comfortably on the ground, no longer agitated.
“Since you’ve given offerings, I won’t make a fuss,” the cat yawned lazily and started licking the fur around its wound.
“No licking!” Teacher Su quickly grabbed the cat’s head.
The wound had just been treated with medicine; they needed to find an Elizabethan collar to stop it from licking. But this was a kindergarten—where could they find one of those?
“Teacher, is the cat okay now?” Little Yuanyuan, who had been sitting next to the cat the entire time, took every opportunity to stroke its fur. The cat purred in contentment.
Ms. Su sighed. “We need an Elizabethan collar.”
“What’s an Elizabethan collar?” Yuanyuan’s face went blank, completely confused.
Used to answering endless questions from children, Ms. Su pulled out her phone and searched for a picture to show the little one.
After looking at it for a bit, Yuanyuan suddenly slapped her leg, “I know where to find one!”
Ms. Su was confused. Even she didn’t know, so how could this little one know?
To everyone’s surprise, the round figure of Yuanyuan dashed into the security booth at the entrance, grabbed something, and came running back.
Teacher Su and the security guard nearly burst out laughing on the spot.
After cleaning the item and cutting a hole in it, they fashioned a simple Elizabethan collar!
The cat, which had been dozing comfortably after its meal, suddenly found something being placed over its head. By the time it realized what was happening, it couldn’t take it off.
The orange cat shook its head frantically, pawing at the contraption on its head, trying in vain to remove it.
Chu Qi watched, dumbfounded, and asked, “Is that…?”
Gu Beiyan hesitated, “I think it is, but I’m not entirely sure.”
“How dumb can you be, not recognizing a noodle cup?” Wen Zifei immediately seized the chance to mock Gu Beiyan.
Indeed, the cat had an Elizabethan collar made out of an instant noodle cup. After struggling for a while and failing to get it off, it eventually collapsed on the ground, panting in exhaustion.
“You’re all betraying me! All of you!” the orange cat complained.
Little Yuanyuan, the only one who could understand the cat, tried to explain what Teacher Su had said, “This hat is to stop you from licking your wound. Once it’s healed, we’ll take it off.”
“I don’t believe you!”
“While you’re recovering, Uncle Security will take care of you, and he’ll make sure you have food and water every day.”
The orange cat instantly calmed down, turning its head—still trapped in the green noodle cup—and asked suspiciously, “Really?”
“Really, really!”
To everyone else, it seemed as though Yuanyuan could really communicate with the cat. After a lengthy back-and-forth, the once-agitated cat suddenly became obedient.
And when it heard that the security guard would be the one taking care of it, the orange cat immediately turned and started rubbing against the guard’s pant leg in an almost theatrical manner.
What a scheming cat!
“Yuanyuan, can you really talk to this cat?” A little girl walked over, holding a tuft of fur she had pulled from the cat earlier.
Yuanyuan nodded earnestly.
“Then ask it if it likes me?”
The little translator asked the question and, after a moment, shook her head, “It says it doesn’t like you.”
Upon hearing this, the girl’s face turned red with anger. She threw the cat fur at Yuanyuan’s face and shouted, “You’re a liar, you’re a liar!”
