Chapter 173: The Daycare

Perhaps it was because Lin Xiangnan didn’t love her job, she always lacked patience at work.

She would simply ignore people or, if she was in a good mood, she would be nice. But if she was in a bad mood, she would directly reject them.

Forget Wang Shu-hua, even when Sun Yi assigned tasks to Lin Xiangnan, she would chase after him to beat him up.

“Those who are capable should shoulder more responsibilities. This job might be a bit tedious, but you’re definitely up for it.” Sun Yi tried to appease Lin Xiangnan.

“You know it’s tedious,” Lin Xiangnan rolled her eyes and threw a crumpled piece of paper at him. “There’s so much data from previous years here, I not only have to calculate it, but also have to research, it’s a real pain.”

“It’s easy for you to say when you’re not doing it.”

It was better to suffer alone. Anyway, Lin Xiangnan had set her own working hours, and she would leave work on time.

If she wasn’t allowed to take leave, she would simply have a headache. There was still Captain Engineer Zhang at the factory, and a bunch of colleagues in the office. The sky wouldn’t fall if she wasn’t there.

Recently, the tasks had no time limit, so although Lin Xiangnan’s work time was fulfilling, she didn’t feel as pressured as last year.

After staying in the data room for forty minutes, Lin Xiangnan got up to stretch and went to the daycare to see her child.

Xiaobao was sitting on the bed, chatting with another little girl.

Lin Xiangnan was about to pick her up, but as she got closer, she noticed that the other child was Wang He, the daughter of Luo Caixia next door.

“No wonder you two are chatting so happily, you’re actually acquaintances.”

Xiaobao smiled sweetly at Lin Xiangnan, “Ah~”.

“Oh my~ Xiaobao , you’re going to kill me with cuteness.” Lin Xiangnan pinched her little face and said, “Drink your milk first, then you can chat with your sister, okay?”

Xiaobao obediently reached out to Lin Xiangnan, asking for a hug.

Lin Xiangnan was just mixing milk powder for Xiaobao  when Luo Caixiaa lso rushed over to see her child.

“What a coincidence. We actually bumped into each other.” Lin Xiangnan said curiously.

Luo Caixia explained embarrassedly, “The canteen is busiest at noon. I don’t have time then, so I can only come to see the child at this time.”

Their break times were different, so it was hard to run into each other.

Lin Xiangnan knew that Captain Wang’s two daughters were in the daycare, but they were mixed in with the other children, and Lin Xiangnan usually didn’t pay attention to them.

Even if she was slacking off at work, taking a break, Lin Xiangnan didn’t feel comfortable going too far. She would only stay in the daycare for a few minutes before leaving.

In such a short time, she could only see her own child.

Luo Caixia was the same. When she arrived at the daycare, the first thing she checked was Wang He’s diaper, and then she would take a look at Wang Bao’s situation.

Wang He was only a little over a year old, but Wang Bao was already over two years old and was playing games with the daycare teacher.

It just so happened that the one playing with Wang Bao was Liu Feng, the one Luo Caixia had suspected before. Although Captain Wang said there was nothing between them, Luo Caixia didn’t really believe it.

Not to mention anything else, just looking at Liu Feng’s attitude towards Wang Bao, Luo Caixia felt it was unusual.

There were so many children in the daycare, why was Liu Feng giving Wang Bao special treatment? And the way Liu Feng looked at her made her feel uncomfortable.

But without any concrete evidence, Luo Caixia didn’t dare to make a fuss, she just became more wary.

Adult matters had nothing to do with children, children didn’t know anything.

Luo Caixia wouldn’t tell her child bad things about adults, she would just subtly inquire about the situation at the daycare.

“Does Aunt Liu Feng always treat you so well?”

“Yes. Aunt treats me the best.” Wang Bao said innocently.

Luo Caixia gritted her teeth, she felt like she shouldn’t ask too much, but she couldn’t help but ask in a low voice to Wang Bao, “Did your dad come to see you at the daycare these past two days?”

The two units were so close, and they had business dealings with each other, so Captain Wang and the others came to the factory quite often.

Lin Xiangnan could often run into Gu Zhenhua. If Captain Wang wanted to find an opportunity, it would be very easy to do so.

“Mom, I can’t hear what you’re saying.” Wang Bao frowned in confusion.

Even though there were no outsiders at home, Luo Caixia was embarrassed to talk loudly about Captain Wang’s affairs, so she repeated the question in a low voice.

Wang Bao looked aggrieved, “Mom, I still didn’t hear clearly, can you speak louder?”

“Did your dad come to see you at the daycare these past two days?”

This time Wang Bao heard clearly and answered happily, “Yes. Dad came to see me yesterday.”

But after cleaning her ear, she tried whispering to Wang Bao, and it seemed like she still didn’t react.

Now Luo Caixia was panicked. As soon as Captain Wang came home, she quickly said, “Take Xiaobao to the hospital later. Her left ear seems to have a problem.”

As for his entanglement with other women, Luo Caixia didn’t even have the energy to care, she only had her child in mind.

“Her ear is fine. What’s wrong with it?” Wang Hu looked at Luo Caixia with disdain and scolded, “You’re making a fuss over nothing. You’re not tired after a day at work, you still have the energy to make trouble at home.”

“It looks fine on the outside. But Xiaobao ‘s left ear seems to be deaf.” Luo Caixia’s voice couldn’t help but become anxious.

Wang Bao didn’t quite understand what Luo Caixia was saying, but hearing the tone of her voice, she also sensed that something was wrong, and her expression became tense.

“How is that possible.” Captain Wang refuted without thinking, “You forced me to find you a job, and I found one for you. Don’t give me any more trouble.”

Luo Caixia was furious, “What do you mean I’m making trouble? Wang Bao is your biological daughter.”

Seeing Luo Caixia’s attitude, Captain Wang also became nervous, quickly lowered his head, and asked his child, “Xiaobao , can you hear? If you can hear, call Daddy.”

Wang Bao answered obediently, “Daddy.”

“Doesn’t that mean there’s nothing wrong?” Captain Wang breathed a sigh of relief and said, “It’s already this late. All the good doctors are off work, only a few on duty. Just take her to the hospital on Sunday.”

Luo Caixia sneered, “It’s really strange. You’re so enthusiastic towards other women, but you don’t care about your own child.”

“You’re talking nonsense.”

Hitting a nerve, Captain Wang couldn’t help but raise his hand to hit her, but under Luo Caixia’s gaze, he put his hand down in fear, and warned, “Don’t talk nonsense next time, or I’ll see how I deal with you.”
