Chapter 187: Your Fault
“Oh oh oh~~~Look at her~~~” Lin Xiangnan made faces and imitated Wang Hu’s speech in a pretentious manner.
Then, she took advantage of his distraction and grabbed his arm.
“Ah!” Wang Hu let out a sharp cry, struggling violently. “Mom, save me! This woman is going to hit me.”
“Xiao Lin, don’t be so hard on a child.” Liu Feng was stunned for a moment before she came to her senses and tried to pull Lin Xiangnan away.
The family housing area near the military factory had its fair share of people who didn’t care about proper conduct, but she had never seen someone like Lin Xiangnan, who would hit a child in front of their parents.
Lin Xiangnan slapped Wang Hu on the butt, making him cry. Only then did she feel her anger subside.
Then she looked up at Liu Feng and asked, “Don’t be hard on Wang Hu? What about being hard on you?”
Did she mean to hit her? Liu Feng took a step back in fear.
“I mean, let’s talk things through. Your car tire was punctured, and we’re willing to pay for it. When Lao Wang gets back, he’ll take care of it.”
For the sake of maintaining her image as a virtuous woman, Liu Feng, despite being a little scared, mustered her courage and tried to pull Wang Hu away.
But she couldn’t pull him. Lin Xiangnan was holding him tight.
No matter what Liu Feng was thinking, her willingness to pull him away touched Wang Hu deeply.
When Luo Caixia was still at home, if someone came to complain, Wang Hu would always be the one to get punished.
Especially when Lin Xiangnan got involved, Luo Caixia wouldn’t try to stop her; instead, she would help her by suggesting where to hit him.
This new mom was definitely a change for the better.
Wang Hu, moved by her actions, grabbed Liu Feng’s hand. “Mom, this stinky woman is bullying me, you have to help me deal with her.”
“Alright. So you two, mother and son, refuse to admit wrong?”
Lin Xiangnan pushed Liu Feng away and pulled a nail out of her pocket. She walked towards the bicycle parked in the Wang family’s yard, transforming into Rong Mama and started puncturing the tires.
“Xiao Lin, we can talk things through.” Liu Feng tried to save her family’s bicycle.
“Talk about what? I’m not short of money, I know how to repair a broken tire. What I want is an apology.”
After destroying the bicycle, Lin Xiangnan turned to Wang Hu and Liu Feng.
“Now, the debt for the bicycle is paid. Now it’s time to pay for the injury. I was riding my bike when the tire got punctured, I almost fell, and I twisted my ankle. Who’s responsible for that?”
The motherly act was all a facade. Liu Feng wouldn’t be willing to take responsibility for Wang Hu. She silently took a step back and dryly advised, “Let’s talk things through, let’s not get physical.”
Wang Hu looked at Liu Feng with disdain. Her attitude was okay, but she was too useless, too cowardly.
He was also cowardly.
He cautiously glanced at Lin Xiangnan and ran out the door.
Lin Xiangnan didn’t hesitate, she chased after him, scaring Wang Hu into crying as he ran.
They left, and Liu Feng wiped the sweat off her forehead, muttering in disgust, “Wang Hu, this troublemaker, I want to beat him up.”
She had no intention of chasing after them to stop the fight. She even started praying, “Lin Xiangnan seems like a tough nut to crack. Hopefully, she doesn’t give Lao Wang any face and beats Wang Hu up good.”
After marrying Captain Wang, she had been tormented by this stepson. If it weren’t for maintaining her image, she would have already hit him.
But she had been pretending for so long, coaxing Wang Hu into believing her, and Lao Wang seemed very satisfied. However, Lao Wang wouldn’t let go of his salary, he was very stingy with his money.
For the sake of controlling the family’s finances, Liu Feng decided to endure a little longer.
So, she took a deep breath at home, mentally preparing herself, before putting on a worried expression and going out to chase after Lin Xiangnan and the others.
Wang Hu, being older and more cunning, ran to a friend’s house and then sneaked out from there.
But Lin Xiangnan wasn’t a pushover either. When she couldn’t find Wang Hu, she went to complain to Wang Hu’s companions.
“Zhang Jie, your snot-nosed kid, he was with Huzi, they were throwing nails on the road, my bicycle got punctured when I got home, the tire blew, I almost fell…”
“Liu Jie, your…”
Lin Xiangnan had been living in the family housing area for two years, and although her relationship with these sisters-in-law was ordinary, she could still tell which child belonged to whom.
Every complaint she made was accurate.
Although Wang Hu was the mastermind, none of the other children escaped.
After Lin Xiangnan finished complaining and left, the house would be filled with children’s cries.
Wherever she went, children cried. Wang Hu was so scared that he didn’t dare to show his face.
Lin Xiangnan had nothing better to do, so she went home, brought out a stool and sat at the door waiting. Wang Hu was so afraid that he didn’t even dare to go home.
“Sister-in-law, why don’t you come in and play, I’ll watch the door for you.” Gu Zhenjun was afraid that Lin Xiangnan would get bored, so he tried to switch places with her.
Lin Xiangnan refused. “No need, your deterrent power isn’t strong enough.”
The two children were more interested in playing with flowers in the vegetable garden than keeping Lin Xiangnan company, so Lin Xiangnan sat at the door, teasing them from a distance.
Wang Hu was very afraid of Lin Xiangnan, with her guarding the gate, he didn’t dare to show his face. He waited until Captain Wang got off work before sneaking out from somewhere and asking his father for help.
“Dad, Aunt Lin hit me.”
Lin Xiangnan stood up and walked towards them, calmly stating, “Wang Hu punctured my bicycle tire. Although it’s the parents’ responsibility to educate their children, I helped you beat him up, you don’t need to thank me, it’s only right.”
“You’re a parent yourself. Why are you still arguing with a child?” Captain Wang was furious.
“Then you need to reflect on yourself. If you hadn’t raised your child properly, would I, an outsider, have to step in and teach him a lesson?” Lin Xiangnan didn’t think she was wrong.
Looking at Captain Wang’s protective attitude towards his child, Lin Xiangnan couldn’t help but scoff.
Even Hu Meili, who wasn’t very reasonable, would still discipline her own child when someone came to complain, although she wouldn’t hit them hard, she would make sure the child knew they had done something wrong.
But Captain Wang was blindly protective, it was no wonder his child was spoiled.
“This matter isn’t over yet. Your child punctured my tire, you need to give me an explanation.”
“You’ve already beaten him up. You also broke my bicycle. Let’s call it even. Besides, you need to think about it, why didn’t Huzi puncture anyone else’s tire, just yours?”
Captain Wang didn’t think his child had any problems, he was very well-behaved. In his eyes, Lin Xiangnan was the one who was being unreasonable.
Just as Gu Zhenhua got home two minutes later than him, he immediately complained, “Gu Zhenhua, come here and judge.”
Gu Zhenhua: “It’s clear, it’s your fault.”
“Alright, alright, I shouldn’t have asked you.” Captain Wang was speechless.
Xu Zhengwei, who got off work with them, said without being asked, “Xiao Lin is right. Lao Wang, you’ve been demoted to deputy battalion commander, you’ve learned a lesson about family matters, why haven’t you made any progress? If you learn another lesson, you’ll never be able to climb back up in your life.”
Gu Zhenhua nodded in agreement. They all had accumulated merits, but he was still lacking in experience. However, because he hadn’t made any mistakes, he was able to seize every opportunity to advance.
